Saycon Sengbloh, a professional singer and actress who has performed in a number of Broadway musicals, including "Rent," "Wicked" and "Aida", and drummer Farai Malianga attended the Chinese New Year Splendor show together at Radio City Music Hall on the evening of February 4th, 2008. After the show, they told the reporter that the content of the show was much more rich than they had expected. They both enjoyed the show very much.
Ms. Sengbloh said, "It's a beautiful, wonderful show. I like the music and costumes. It's very entertaining."
Farai Malianga said, "I enjoyed the music. I'm musician too, so I liked the drumming a lot. It's really nice to see the dancing and live music. It's very important to me. Being able to see live orchestra is very nice."
Ms. Sengbloh has been living in New York for the past three years. She said, "I saw people advertising the Christmas show [Holiday Wonders] and the Chinese New Year Splendor, and I said to myself that I must make time to see it. It's the first time that I saw the show."
Mr. Malianga told the reporter that prior to the Splendor, all that he had seen of Chinese culture was Chinese martial arts. He appreciated seeing more of the culture and Chinese history this evening. He also thought the show's hosts introducing the story behind each dance piece was entertaining and helpful. He enjoyed the whole production very much.
