September 27th 2007
Dear Ms. Chancellor and Mr. Foreign Minister,
We, the Presidents of the American, Asian and Australian Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) are contacting you in the hope that you would support the legal proceedings filed against Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gang Chen who resides in Munich. We were appalled to hear about this lawsuit.
Worldwide, voices of people that believe in justice are growing stronger in their condemnation of the organ harvesting by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from live Falun Gong practitioners. Alas, it has been shown that these voices are not welcome in Munich. Mr. Gang Chen was given notice by Munich’s office of the district attorney and served with a summons because he had organised a legally registered and permitted rally outside the Chinese Consulate. The participant demonstrated with banners and the re-enactment of an organ harvesting scene, that depicts the inhuman crime of organ harvesting and violation of diplomatic respect.
From the day in March 2006, when the news about organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners emerged, the Chinese regime remained silent. Nothing was heard from the Chinese regime when the investigation report about organ harvesting on Falun Gong practitioners in China by David Kilgour and David Matas was released and no response was given to the questions posed by Manfred Novak, the UN human rights commission's special investigator on torture.
The evidence detailed in the investigative report by Kilgour and Matas confirm the truth of the organ harvesting on Falun Gong practitioners accusations by the CCP. During the state ordered and sanctioned persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP, the origin of more than 41,500 transplants, performed between 2001 and 2005, are unexplained.
The CIPFG, after it was formed in April 2006, requested the CCP to consent for an independent investigation concerning organ harvesting in prisons, slave labour camps, hospitals and similar facilities in China. Such consent has yet to be granted.
We believe without a shadow of a doubt that such an inhuman crime cannot happen without taking action. Falun Gong practitioners, who are imprisoned in China without any justifiable and legal reason, can be cannibalised and murdered. This is one of the worst violations of human dignity and humanity. We recall the promise “Never Again” after the Second World War. All the world’s people will suffer damage if this holocaust in China, that is one of the worst tragedies amongst today’s humans, does not come to an end soon.
We hope that the German regime and the German court system will support the honourable deed that works towards an end to organ harvesting.
Sincerely
Andrew Bartlett, Senator (Democrats), President of CIPFG’s Australia Branch.
Lai Ching-Te, Taiwan Delegate, President of CIPFG’s Asia Branch
Clive Ansley, attorney-at-law, China Expert, China Country Monitor of Lawyers Rights Watch in Canada, President of CIPFG’s USA-Canadian Branch
* Comments:
1. CIPFG (Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China) consists of 350 recognised international persons, including politicians, journalists, academics, lawyers, doctors, NGOs, and so on. There are four branches, which are located in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. CIPFG intents to investigate the accusations that the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) takes life organs to gain profits, and bring to light the facts of the persecution, to end the persecution and take the offenders to court.
2. The Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gang Chen registered and organised on the occasion of the 7th year (July 20, 1999) of the persecution, and given the organ harvesting on live Falun Gong practitioners, a public rally outside the Chinese General Consulate in Munich (Roman street 107). Respective authorities had approved the registration application for holding the public rally. The Falun Gong practitioners had put up and were carrying banners that said, China's Final Solution for Falun Gong: Kill the practitioner and take their Organs for sale.” The banners also showed pictures that depicted the persecution of Falun Gong. The practitioners also showed a live re-enactment of the organ harvesting with a simulated operating table and surgical instruments.
Munich’s district attorney served a public notice against Mr. Chen for Violation of Diplomatic Respect. Mr. Gang Chen was found guilty as charged on January 29th 2007, during a public hearing in Munich’s district court.
October 5th was the day when the appeal filed by Chen Gang against the district attorney’s office was heard (Process No. ZI-Nr.: A-108/II).
