On the morning of Dec. 27, 2001, about 10 policemen from Changchun City police department's No.1 branch, the Luyuan district police department, and Qingnian Street police station kidnapped Falun Dafa practitioner Li Yanchun from her home in Jiayuan Residential Area, Building 1, Unit 2-2, and Apt. 604. The policemen quietly opened Li Yanchun's door with an unauthorized key. Alarmed by the opening of the door, Li Yanchun quickly pushed the door closed and latched it from the inside. The policemen then pried open the door and broke into the room. Li Yanchun refused to cooperate and tried to escape. She picked up some Dafa [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance] books, jumped out of the window, and was seriously injured in the fall.

Li Yanchun was sent to Changchun Centre Hospital by ambulance for emergency medical treatment. At the time, she had zero blood pressure, a fractured pelvis, a comminute fracture of her right elbow, thorax bone fractures and bleeding in her thoracic cavity. Doctors said that she would have to stay in bed for at least a few months. Under these circumstances, the police still wanted to call Li's mother, the only person by her bed, to the police station to file a written report, without informing Li's other direct relatives, leaving no one to take care of her. Li Yanchun said with grief and indignation after she regained consciousness: "You wanted to kill me, do you also want kill my mother?" The police knew that they were in the wrong. They did not pay for any medical expenses and left dejectedly.

Nevertheless, the persecution did not stop. The police called the doctors and nurse every day asking for Li Yanchun's condition in order to arrange further persecution. In addition, they changed the lock on the door to Li's apartment and stole valuables without giving any explanation or leaving any receipt. The stolen items include:

1. One P4 Personal Computer, cost: 6800 Yuan (about $850)

2. An HP1000 laser printer, cost: 3180 Yuan (about $390)

3. Three Aiwa and other brand cassette player/recorders, total cost: 1500 Yuan (about $180)

4. Two TCL29 and other brand TV sets, total cost: 4500 Yuan (about $560)

5. A Xiaxin brand VCD player, cost: 1300 Yuan (about $160)

6. Two Panasonic VCRs, total cost: 2000 Yuan (about $250)

7. A Motorola cellular phone, cost: 1300 Yuan (about $160)

8. A Chinese mobile phone card (SIM phone card), with 600 Yuan (about $70) balance

9. A Panasonic walkie-talkie, cost: 1300 Yuan (about $160)

Seeing that a folding bed (360 Yuan) and two chairs in her home were very ornate, the police also took them.
People directly responsible for this persecution also include Qingnian Street administrative office secretary Cong Deshun and Liu Shurong. Before this event, Cong Deshun told officials overseeing the Jiayuan area that they would be awarded with alcoholic beverages if they caught anyone contacting Li Yanchun or practicing Falun Gong.

Respectable Dafa practitioner Li Yanchun stayed in the emergency room bed for seven days. She could not eat or move. Bearing the pain, she clarified the truth to other patients.

It has been almost three years since the gang headed by Jiang's regime started to persecute the good and honest people. Dafa practitioners have been resisting the persecution with peace, reason, compassion and tolerance. We wholeheartedly hope that people in the world can see through the lies, learn the truth, and be truly responsible for their own eternal lives.
