At 9 p.m. on July 16th, 2007, three groups of police officers and personnel from the Xushui County 610 Office1, the Xushui County Police Department, and the Ansu Town Government went to Ying Village, Nanguzhuang, Ansu Town, Xushui County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. They forcibly entered the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Feng Jixiu, searched the home and arrested her. The police confiscated a double-cassette recorder, a computer that Feng Jixiu's son used for studying.

Ms. Feng was detained in the police department overnight and transferred to the Xushui County Detention Centre the next day. Ten days later, she was taken to the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labour Camp.

Feng Jixiu started to cultivate Falun Gong in 1998. Just five or six days later, the illnesses she had suffered from, including insomnia, gastric disease, hypertension, and arthritis, completely disappeared. Her face went from dark to rosy. Falun Gong worked miracles on her.

When Jiang Zemin's, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime started to brutally persecute Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, some Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members in Xushui County followed the regime's orders and started to persecute local practitioners.

On December 5th, 2000, Ms. Feng Jixiu and other practitioners started out for Beijing to appeal. She was arrested on the way. Li Jinlong and Cui Xinyong brought her to the liaison office in Beijing, where Xu Xiangqun and others from Ansu Town pushed her into the trunk of a vehicle and took her back to Ansu Town. They forced her to take off her warm coat and forced her down on her knees. Guo Haishan, Party Secretary of Ansu Town, grabbed Feng Jixiu's hair with one hand and slapped her face many times with the other. Afterwards, Town Governor Niu Jun also slapped her face many times the same way. Both of them heavily hit her buttocks with sticks and batons, which made her black and blue for more than two weeks. They tortured her so that she would "confess." Feng Jixiu was forced to kneel and stretch out her arms. The police beat her while asking her questions. If her arms moved even a bit, Bai Chengzhi hit her elbows with wooden sticks. The next day, they took her to the Xushui County Detention Centre, where she was searched and her money confiscated. She was detained there for four months and had 3000 yuan2 extorted from her. During her detention, her family spent several thousand yuan sending gifts and begging officials for her release. She suffered tremendously physically and mentally.

One morning in April 2004, Li Jinlong, Party Secretary of the Politics and Law Committee, led a dozen policemen, including Li Niansheng and Liu Lixin, in four or five police vehicles to Ms. Feng Jixiu's home. They broke into the home and rummaged through it. They confiscated Falun Gong books and exercise tapes. Ms. Feng was taken to the police department for a so-called "trial" and released five or six hours later.

One month later, Liu Lixin and another person deceived Feng Jixiu, who was working in the field, and took her to the Xushui County Detention Centre. She was detained there for two weeks. Yuan Jianguo, Chief of the Political Security Section, shouted, "If you do not pay up, I will not let you go even after autumn." Ms. Feng was eventually released after paying 2000 yuan.

Note

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

2. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
