Taiwan: Pingtung Falun Gong Practitioners Stage a Protest Rally Near Visiting Hunan Province Police Officials

On May 28th, 2006, 12 high-ranking police officials from Hunan Province in Mainland China visited the Pingtung Police Department and had a dinner party in a restaurant near Centennial Park. About 100 Falun Gong practitioners from Pingtung staged a rally in Centennial Park in the afternoon. They displayed the beauty of Falun Dafa with group exercise practice and demanded that the Hunan Public Security Bureau stop persecuting Falun Gong.

The next morning, practitioners displayed banners and set up display boards in the rain, clarifying the truth to the visiting policemen from China. The banners stated that over 10 million Communist Party members have withdrawn from the party since the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published, and asked the police officers not to follow the Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong. This March, media groups exposed the crimes of harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners taking place in Chinese forced labour camps and concentration camps. These organs were then sold for profit and the practitioners' bodies cremated to destroy the evidence. On April 4th, the Falun Dafa Association and the Minghui website established the "Committee to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China" and requested an open investigation into the situation. At present, there are five large forced labour camps and prisons near Changsha, the capitol city of Hunan Province, where thousands of practitioners are detained. According to the "Global Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong," many forced labour camps in Hunan Province are involved in harvesting organs from practitioners.
