Children of Nature
Located in the northwest of the Scandinavian Peninsula, Norway is a small country with a population of only 4.5 million. Norwegians proudly say: we are children of nature. Norwegians long for a life in harmony with nature. The coastline of Norway is quite unique: it is not straight but rather curvy, forming many basins of different sizes. Along the coastline there are high standing rocks and nice sandy beaches. This is the place where Norwegians spend most of their holidays and spare time.
Christopher
Christopher is a young Norwegian. When he first heard of Falun Gong, he immediately realised that this was what he had been looking for, and he wanted to read Zhuan Falun, the main teaching of Falun Gong, in Chinese. Without any help and assistance, using only two dictionaries, he finished reading the Chinese version of Zhuan Falun in six months. Now he can read the Chinese version of Zhuan Falun as if it were his native language.
He is a photographer and editor. Before he practised Falun Gong, Christopher could not bear all the bad things in the film and TV industry and decided to work as a nurse in the nursing home for the elderly. After starting cultivation, Christopher picked up his camera again and produced a short film exposing the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong. The film was shown on Norwegian TV. The Chinese TV station, NTDTV, also broadcast a few short films he produced. He is now producing a new film that he wrote himself about cultivation, hoping more people could learn about Falun Gong through his work.
Sissel
Sissel is a teacher. After she started practising Falun Gong her allergies disappeared. During the past few years, she used her own savings and holidays to promote Falun Gong’s health benefits at various Health Expos. She helped many Norwegian people to understand Falun Gong and quite a few of them started to practise.
Sissel is very concerned with the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China. She has taken part in many activities exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. In the school in which she teaches, many classes invited her to introduce Falun Gong to them.
Sissel is extremely kind to fellow Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners who met her have never heard a single word of complaint from her about anyone. She always sees other people’s good side and is always willing to share her cultivation experience with others. Her home is always open. Whenever there are Falun Gong activities in her area, she always warmly invites practitioners from other areas to live in her house and she makes them feel like it is their own home.
The kindness of the Norwegian police
After the North European Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference in June 2001, some practitioners from around the world began a tour through four north European nations. On June 19th they arrived in the Norwegian capital Oslo and visited the Chinese Embassy to appeal for the immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang Zemin and his followers.
When learning of the brutal inhuman treatment of Falun Gong practitioners in China, the two policemen at the Embassy expressed their great sympathy. They appreciated very much the peaceful appeals by practitioners and liked the atmosphere of serenity and peace. They told their colleagues, "We were on duty in front of the Chinese Embassy. There was a demonstration by Falun Gong. They are very peaceful.” When passers-by asked what was happening, the police told them about the persecution occurring in China. At the end of the activity, police told Norwegian practitioners, “We wish you luck. The Norwegian mountains and nature are very beautiful; please take your guests to travel around.”
There are many more stories of Norwegian people cultivating in Falun Gong, we will tell you more in the future.
