Falun Gong practitioners and members of the European Friends of Falun Gong, a non-governmental organisation of people who do not practise Falun Gong but are against the persecution of practitioners, arrived at the Thai Embassy at 1:00pm. They unfolded banners reading “Falun Gong is Great”, “Stop Persecuting Falun Gong” and “Do Not Kowtow to the Chinese Dictators”. The practitioners distributed leaflets to passers-by and read and handed the open letters to the Thai Embassy.
During the course of the activity, there were embassy staff and Thai citizens coming out from the embassy. Practitioners made use of this opportunity to tell them the facts about the Thai police’s recent severe human rights abuses against Falun Gong practitioners under the direction and instigation of the Chinese Embassy, as well as the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong over the past six years.
The open letters called for the Thai authorities to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation into the incident, not to succumb to intimidation and pressure from the CCP and act as an accomplice to the persecution, which would be a serious compromise of Thailand’s fundamental moral and political principles. The open letters also requested the assistance of any and all international agencies that might help to investigate the human rights abuses carried out by agents of the Chinese Communist Party against Falun Gong practitioners throughout the world.
