On March 4th and 5th, Falun Gong practitioners from Scotland, England and Ireland held an anti-torture exhibition in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland. Before holding the exhibition, practitioners sent out an invitation letter to all UK MPs, MEPs, libraries, police stations, city councillors and some other non-governmental organisations.

On March 4th, the Belfast Telegraph newspaper introduced the anti-torture exhibition information. The practitioners held the anti-torture exhibition in a small square in Belfast’s city centre and the weather was very cold. Passersby were all astonished while watching the simulation of the brutal methods of torture employed by the Chinese Communist Party in cruel attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief.

During the exhibition, journalists from two media organisations came to report on the event. A female reporter from the BBC interviewed the practitioner who played the role of a persecution victim and the practitioner who organised the activity. She was attracted by the exercise music and the practitioners explained to her the characteristics of the exercises and the benefits they had received from practising them.

In these extraordinarily cold two days, the practitioners distributed more than five thousand leaflets, newspapers and Video-CDs, in both English and Chinese.
