Canada: Falun Gong is Introduced at Simon Fraser University

On the 9th of September, 2004, the Falun Gong Club of Simon Fraser University participated in the opening ceremony to celebrate the establishment of the new student dormitory. Falun Gong practitioners' waist drum and dance performances were arranged to open the event winning warm applause. The master of ceremonies loudly said to the audience through the microphone, "That was fantastic! Everyone is welcome to join the Falun Gong Club!"

Afterwards, practitioners displayed the Falun Gong exercises and distributed leaflets to introduce Falun Gong and expose the persecution taking place in China. Many students signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. A gentleman from Mainland China carefully watched the practitioners' exercise demonstration and read the leaflet. He said, "You are very peaceful and normal. We were all deceived by the Jiang regime's [referring to the former President of China Jiang Zemin] deceitful propaganda. It is just too terrible! I will tell all my friends and family members that you are very normal and very kind."

This gentleman, who had learned about the facts of Falun Gong and the persecution, did not want to leave. He was hesitant to leave even when the Falun Gong practitioners had finished their activities and were leaving the site.
