In January of this year, caving-in to pressure and economic temptation from Jiang’s dictatorial regime and against its own democratic principles, a few people in the French Government decided to exclude Falun Gong, a legally registered group in France that represents the best of Chinese traditional culture, from participating in the Chinese New Year parade on the Champs Elysees with unjustifiable excuses. At the same time, hundreds of Falun practitioners from around the world came to Paris to celebrate the Chinese New Year, to welcome the visit by Chinese president Hu Jintao and to appeal to bring Jiang to justice and for the end of the persecution of Falun Gong. The French authorities were very aware of the stand of the Falun Gong practitioners. But several Falun Gong practitioners were instead illegally stopped, searched and detained by the police who never heard the truth of Falun Gong, by order of a few individuals in the French Government bending to the pressure of Jiang’s regime.
The refusal and interferences violated the basic value of a free country, harmed the legal rights of the citizens, assisted the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang’s dictatorial regime, and at the same time misled the pubic from China and abroad who are poisoned to a different degree by the Jiang regime’s lies. Since then French Falun Gong practitioners have been actively contacting the French Government, parliament members, the justice departments, the police, the media, human rights organisations and the general public, to let them know the truth about Falun Gong and to demand justice for the Falun Gong practitioners. Recently more French politicians gave positive feedback to the appeal by the Falun Gong practitioners.
The former minister of the French Justice Department, current parliamentary member, member of the constitution, legislation, general election and administrative regulation committee, member of the human rights research group Robert Badinter wrote back to a female practitioner who was unlawfully detained by French police, thanking her for her letter and expressed his continuing concern for the treatment of Falun Gong in France.
The head of the ninth region of Paris Mr Jacques Bravo said in a responding letter to a practitioner that he already wrote to the Deputy Mayor of Paris to seek information and will let them know the result.
Parliamentary member Lionnel Luca said that he wrote to the minister of domestic affairs concerning the incident of Falun Gong practitioners being arrested and detained in Paris, trying to clarify the reasons behind this behaviour. The reply by the minister will be reported in the Parliament’s Journal Officiel and will be forwarded to the practitioner.
