Russia: Telling the Facts to the Precious Chinese People

I am from Irkutsk, Siberia. Although there are not many practitioners here and we don’t always have the same opinions about everything, all of us understand the importance of clarifying the truth to the precious Chinese people. Everyone has his or her full influence as a Dafa practitioner. Some send newspapers, some dispatch truth-clarification materials, and the others tell the truth directly.

Many Chinese people visit Irkutsk. Most go to the shopping square downtown. In the beginning, they were not very interested in the truth-clarification materials that we had placed in the shops, but now it is much better. Most are willing to take the newspapers and Video-CDs that explain the truth about Falun Gong. We also hang up banners reading “Falun Dafa is good”, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” and “Falun Dafa will bring you a Beautiful Future.” Although we cannot read Chinese, we copy the Chinese characters onto banners and hang them in the most appropriate places. If a banner is lost or fades due to the weather we replace it with a new one. If there are important activities and we have no time to prepare materials, we hang colourful placards with important messages and photographs on the walls. We demonstrate the five sets of exercises in the square once a week.

There is an agency for the Chinese community near the square. We moved to the pavement opposite the agency and practised the exercises there. In Irkutsk, the agency has a similar role to a Consulate so all of us feel strong pressure from it. The head of the agency damaged our display board and hired young Chinese thugs to disperse us. However, we continued to practise the exercises peacefully and let them know the truth. After that nobody tried to bother us. Moreover, some of them actively took materials and the agency head didn’t bother us any more. I think when we openly displayed the exercises in front of the Chinese agency we shocked them a lot.

For us, the Square has always been our main focus for clarifying the truth and letting local Chinese people know about the persecution that is happening in China. The people there are beginning to understand us. We also go to other places to tell the truth, such as youth hostels, travel agencies, hotels, construction sites, farms, restaurants, airports and the train station. All are good places to tell people the truth about Falun Gong.

Once, a van loaded with Chinese workers stopped at the train station. At that time we were distributing Dafa materials to those who were waiting for the train. Suddenly, I heard somebody call me. He was a manager at a construction site, and he asked for newspapers for the labourers in the van. We often come across construction workers who say hello to us and ask us for newspapers.

Here, I would like to emphasise the significance of the train station. Many Chinese people live in various places across Russia. The train station is the only place where they can have contact with Dafa disciples. They told us that they only recently learned that Falun Dafa has spread around the world. Many people have been deceived by the lies. This is just the opportunity to tell the truth to them. From the bottom of my heart, I want them to know the truth and understand the facts, so I put some truth materials exposing the deception into every copy of the newspaper. With a pure heart, I ask them to take a VCD containing the truth about Falun Gong.

Most recently, whenever people hear about Falun Gong, they come forward to take newspapers and VCDs. We can hand out 150 to 200 VCDs on every train between Moscow and Beijing.
