We know the Chinese culture is passed down to humans from Gods. A simple Chinese character contains a lot of information. For instance, the Chinese character for busy is constructed by the character for heart on one side and death on the other. The character indicates that when a person gets busy, his or her heart tends to become dead. A man with dead heart is inclined to get into trouble. The Chinese word for hurry depicts a picture of a messy wasteland blanketed with weeds.
We all understand that such kind of chaotic situation should not occur with practitioners. However, if we examine our own selves and the hasty-tempered practitioners around us, we can find this situation has more or less happened on ourselves unwittingly. In fact, this is the interference caused by humankinds postnatal concepts and karma. At present, they cannot impose large damage, but they succeed in making small troubles frequently. After recognizing this, we ought to strengthen our Main Consciousness and deliberately avoid this situation from happening.
How can we avoid having a dead heart? Master Li talks of remaining calm upon encountering tribulations. We need to maintain compassionate and peaceful minds even when we come across a crisis, not to mention when we are merely in the state of being busy in a peaceful environment. Not only should our hearts be tranquil when sitting in meditation, our hearts should be calm tranquility when we are facing a great amount of tasks. Just as Master said: By having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations. Essentials for Further Advancement II
To strengthen our ability to remain calm, the most crucial thing is to study the Fa every day and send forth the righteous thoughts frequently. That will ensure our hearts to stay in a compassionate and peaceful state at all times. By studying the Fa and sending righteous thought, the distracting notions in our minds can be eliminated. Only when the heart stays tranquil, we can eliminate the ordinary state of intentional actions and show-offing off ones self, which hide behind the mentality of achieving something. Our divine side can then bring its effect into full play. Otherwise, we will be busy at the same level as the ordinary people.
