As they have done during the past three years, Falun Gong practitioners form Sweden and Norway promoted Falun Dafa and informed people about the Jiang regimes persecution during the Nobel Peace Prize Festivities. The Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held in Norway every year and Master Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Dafa, was nominated for the prize in 2001 and 2002.
Although security is tight for such occasions, practitioners were given permission to stay at the Music Pavilion which is located directly in the middle of the city on the Main Street "Karl Johan" and also situated close to both the Parliament, the Castle, the Grand Hotel (where for example, 2002 Nobel Prize winner Jimmy Carter stayed) and the City Hall (where the Nobel Peace Price ceremony is usually held). The practitioners decorated the Music Pavilion with big red banners and a photo exhibition.
As well as demonstrating the exercises and distributing flyers, practitioners talked with people about the facts of the Jiang regimes persecution and the benefits they have received from practising Falun Gong. When speaking with people, the same question frequently arose: why does this persecution exist and why are peaceful people who only want to do Qi Gong exercises and believe in Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance being persecuted? Hearing about the persecution, most people were very concerned and took it very seriously.
On the morning of Tuesday, December 10th 2002, for one hour practitioners also displayed their banners, practised the exercises and send forth righteous thoughts [using upright thoughts to purify oneself and surroundings] in front of the Chinese embassy in Oslo. On the same day, the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony was held in the City Hall. Most of the people who took part had to pass by the Music Pavilion where the practitioners were situated.
On the evening of Wednesday 11th 2002, practitioners distributed flyers to the audience at the official Nobel Peace Prize Concert and they also prepared and arranged that an information package to be handed to the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Jimmy Carter.
