BBC Monitoring Service: China expels Canadian Falun Gong protester

Beijing has expelled a Canadian woman detained by police for protesting in Tiananmen Square against the mainland's ban on the Falun Gong spiritual group. Sixty-one year old Connie Chipkar left aboard a British Airways flight for London. She was detained after she sang and held out her arms in the square. She was wearing a sash that read - Falun Gong - and - SOS. A Foreign
Ministry spokesman, Sun Yuxi, said Ms Chipkar had been making trouble in the square.
