| The Persecution Experienced by A Common Family [29.03.2007] |
I went to Beijing to petition for my fundamental rights to practise Dafa. I was arrested and sent to Longshan Correctional Centre, where the guards were full of abusive words. One day a TV reporter came, and we were told to sit in a line in the corridor, while a supervisor told the reporter how good the conditions were, how Falun Gong practitioners were treated like sisters, and how we liked the place. I said to the supervisor, "You just said you treated us as you did to your loved ones, but how come you often beat us and yell at us? Look at what you did to Aunt Yuan Zeqin, who's sitting right next to me. She is over 70 and her ribs were all broken." At that moment, the reporter switched off his camera. |

| The Abuse of Practitioners at the Chongqing City Women's Forced Labour Camp: A Personal Account [29.03.2007] |
Between August 2005 and July 2006 I was detained in the Chongqing Women's Forced Labour Camp. They immediately tell new detainees the camp rules, which are implemented right away. One is given a deadline to memorise the rules and regulations, and has to read and memorise the regulation books. They call it "Militarised Management." One has to pass a three-month-long "discipline" probation period; otherwise they will extend the lock-up time and intensify the discipline. During those three-months, one has to get up at 5:30 a.m., spend not more than 10 minutes on personal hygiene and then commence with the "discipline," which lasts until midnight. |

| I Have Been Sent to Labour Camps and Brainwashing Classes Four Times in the Past Eight Years [27.03.2007] |
In August 2003, I was forcibly taken to a labour camp. I was often deprived of sleep and was put in solitary confinement. I was asked to recite the six articles of public security. After making me suffer for years, they made me sign the “Four Statements.” I felt very bad about myself. In April 2006, when I was back in my hometown to distribute materials, I was reported by someone who did not understand the truth of the persecution. I was arrested and sent to Lianzhou Detention Centre and then to a labour camp. As I had a high blood pressure, I was refused to be taken in. The “610 Office” sent me to Sanshui Brainwashing Class for the fourth time. In the following months, I did not cooperate with the persecution and they started using violence to torture me. |

| An Older Lady Tells of the Persecution She Suffered in Sichuan Province [25.03.2007] |
After the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Dafa, we were not allowed to practise together. My husband did not allow me to practise at home either. I could not understand. Why would such a wonderful practice be forbidden? I decided to speak out for justice for Dafa in Beijing. I was arrested in Beijing. In the regional office, the police asked where we came from. We did not say anything. Then they started to beat us. I still refused to tell, and then they took off my clothes. At last I only had on an undershirt. It was a cold winter day. They asked me to hold a stone lion up. One policeman said, "If you can hold it up, you will be released." Another officer, tall and mean said, "What do you say?" Then he slapped me. It felt like my eyeball had fallen out from the beating. I slowly pushed it back into place. My whole face was swollen, but I did not feel any pain. |

| Exposing the Persecution Carried Out by Jixian County Police in Heilongjiang Province [21.03.2007] |
Only four days after I began Dafa cultivation in 2001, I informed a young local policeman about the true nature of Falun Gong in front of a police station. I was arrested and detained at the police station. Policemen there ordered me to point out Dafa practitioners from a group of people, but I did not cooperate with them. As a result, the police grabbed my hair and slammed my head into a wall. Later I was again detained. They tortured me by having me sit on a wooden stool for a long time without changing positions or sleeping. Otherwise, I would be beaten. My buttocks hurt and became numb from the prolonged sitting. |
|
| The Persecution of Two Dafa Practitioners in Chongqing City [21.03.2007] |
On September 4th, 2001, I was arrested and sent to Beipei Detention Centre. I was stripped naked for inspection upon arrival. At the detention centre, the police forced me to clean the toilet every day. I was forced to brush the toilet with a toothbrush and touch the filth with my hands. I had to do this every morning, noon and evening. My hands and feet festered after being soaked in dirty fluid for too long. In addition, all of the practitioners were forced to fold one thousand paper packaging boxes every day. We could not go to sleep before finishing the work. |
|
| How a Doctor Suffered from Persecution [17.03.2007] |
In October 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal. When I arrived at Tiananmen, a soldier asked me who I was. I said that I was a Falun Gong practitioner and I wanted to visit the government appeals office. I was taken to Qianmen Police Station. I refused to tell them my name and address. To punish me, they handcuffed my arms behind my back, one from above and another from below. They then changed their tactics and hung me up by my hands to a steel cage. My toes could barely touch the floor. The officers closed the door, turned off the light, and left me there alone. With my body weight on my hands, I felt as if I was being deformed. My body felt like it was being torn to pieces. After a long time, the officers lowered me down. This torture did not stop until the next morning. I could not move my hands for a long time. |

| A Practitioner Recounts Three Years of Persecution In Masanjia Forced Labour Camp (Liaoning Province) [13.03.2007] |
At one point, I was persecuted to the point that I could not take care of myself, but I refused to be "transformed." They took me to another room for new methods of torture. Guard Liu Yong hung me up for several days. One day he said, "Let's do some physical exercises." He pulled on my arms until he dislocated the joints. They burned my nose and my hair, and used cigarettes to burn my hands. They used wires to hold my mouth open and inserted cigarette butts and dirty papers into it. They used needles to puncture my back, hands, arms and head. They hung me by my hands and tied my legs and feet. They used iron wires to tie my knees. It was an unbearable torture, but I withstood it. |
|
| I Was Brutally Tortured Inside Jiuquan Jail in Gansu Province [07.03.2007] |
Whenever they got a practitioner to renounce Falun Gong, the jail would give 75 points to the criminal prisoners, which would decrease their serving time by 25 days. Tempted by the apparent benefit, all the criminal prisoners would take turns to brutally beat us. Practitioners were pulled inside pigpens behind the jail, where a brutal beating was constantly in progress around the clock. I was tortured inhumanly for four days. Some of them choked me while others covered my mouth. My neck was so badly swollen I couldn't breathe for a long time. I was beaten so extensively that I was covered with bruises and cuts. All of my teeth were loose, and I couldn't eat anything. I did not get to drink a single drop of water, nor was I able to sleep for one minute. |

| Ms. Zou Ruxiang, 57, Tells of Being Tortured in Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, Where She Became Disabled and Lost Her Memory [05.03.2007] |
I'm 57 years old. I was arrested and sent to Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, where I was tortured in inhuman ways. I was taken to a mental hospital, where they injected me with unknown drugs. I cannot recall many of the horrible deeds the guards did to me. Originally I weighed about 130 pounds, but in 2002, when my husband carried me home, I weighed less than 55 pounds. I was totally paralysed, I could not see, and I had lost my memory. It has been more than four years now. My memory is still only partly recovered, my vision is very poor, and I still limp when I walk. |
|
| The Persecution I Experienced in Beijing's Legal Training Centre [04.03.2007] |
When I was first taken here by Beijing policemen, several armed police officers took me to a cell. An armed police officer monitored me around the clock. I protested the incarceration with a hunger strike. In the first few days, several armed police ordered a doctor from the nearby Tuanhe Hospital to force-feed me. They called the force-feeding "being responsible for your life." The secret police observed me through the door to see if I was fearful, nervous, tired or anxious. Since I was calm, a few days later the secret police showed up. They tried to trick me and convince me with their evil theories and to threaten me. I knew that as a Falun Dafa practitioner I cannot be convinced or tricked by them, no matter how nice they pretended to be, or how tough they looked. |

| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 9) [02.03.2007] |
I was persecuted for not renouncing Falun Gong from that day in July 1999 when the Chinese Communist regime banned Falun Gong. Because, seven years ago, the former head of the Chinese Communist regime, Jiang Zemin, gave the order "to destroy them physically, starve them financially and destroy them mentally and spiritually," I lost my basic right to earn a living and live a normal life. I was harmed physically and mentally. Because of the rule "guilt by association," my family and relatives suffered and still suffer from this persecution. |

| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 8) [26.02.2007] |
One day, guard Jiao said to me disappointedly, "Zhang Yijie, all that we are allowed or forbidden to do, we've made you suffer them." I then responded. "But, do you know the outcome of your actions?" She looked at me diffidently and with eyes widely open. I said calmly: "Let me tell you, all the things you did to me could only make me stronger and my mind firmer." Jiao had nothing to say to me anymore. Jiao knew that her evil deeds had done everything but kill me. But she also knew in her heart that even if she had taken my life, she still couldn't destroy my belief. |

| Eyewitness to the Vicious Incidents at Shandong Province No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp [25.02.2007] |
Wangcun Forced Labour Camp officials punish the steadfast Falun Gong practitioners by forcing them to sit on benches all day long while at the same time collaborators attempt to "reform" them. If the practitioners refuse to be reformed, they would be forbidden to sleep. Because I could not tolerate sleep deprivation I gave in and allowed them to "reform" me. This camp has a basement where the prison guards locked up those practitioners who were not "reformed." I opened a cell door and saw a practitioner hanging on a wall. Her head was wrapped up except for her eyes. I was terrified. |
|
| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 7) [21.02.2007] |
One day at 1 a.m., the guards locked all the metal gates in the hallway. Two guards and five or six drug addict inmates brutally beat practitioner Ms. Lang Dongyue. These inhuman people also assaulted Ms. Lang sexually and used high-heel shoes to step on her over and over again with as much force as possible. One morning, despite it being very cold outside, Jiao ordered all practitioners to go outside and knit there. When we returned after four hours, everything in the Class Three room was scattered around. There was a great mess. We also saw five criminals surrounding practitioner Tao and brutally beating her. The heating pipe was broken, too. Ms. Tao's chest and stomach were injured and she had pain when breathing. Her private parts were also injured. |
|
| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 6) [20.02.2007] |
There are about 130 people in each team in the camp, 90 per cent of whom are practitioners. There must be at least 1,000 practitioners in the camp, but they are never given the task of cooking. Only drug addicts, prostitutes, pimps, pornography vendors, and thieves can work in the kitchen. [Chinese buns are supposed to be fluffy and slightly sweet], but practitioners are constantly served with sticky buns, sour buns, salty buns, or rock-hard buns. Boiled vegetables taste like swill and constantly contain worms, bugs, flies, weed stems, and a residue of dirt on the bottom. Later the menu improved slightly and streaky pork or boiled pork skin was added to the menu twice a week but in meagre rations. In fact, many practitioners often don't get any pork at all. Occasionally fried eggs were added to the menu but meagrely rationed as well. |
|
| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 5) [19.02.2007] |
When you, as a practitioner, are tortured to force you give up your belief, this is a test: Will you have anger inside your heart when you see that other detainees are showing off and dumping their leftover food into the rubbish bins on purpose or depriving you of your meals in front of your eyes while you don't have enough food to eat? Will you still be indifferent and care little about your physiological desires when you see in front of your eyes that other detainees are chewing and enjoying the charcoaled chicken and sausages on purpose brought from the shop inside the labour camp while you're not allowed to buy anything from there? Will your heart still be peaceful when you are forced to stay up all night long under the surveillance of the collaborators and the guards while others are sleeping soundly? |
|
| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 4) [18.02.2007] |
After the persecution started, I went to appeal on July 21st, 1999. My employer, the Foreign Trade Ministry of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), tried to force me to give up cultivating Falun Dafa, so that I could be "on the same page" as the CCP. My family also tried to convince me. My oldest brother was the most active of my three older brothers. My father, a history teacher, cooperated with him. Once, they suddenly locked me up in a room and tried many ways to force me to give in. My father used many historical stories about how people had been wrong. My oldest brother is a provincial civil minister. He is in charge of persecuting Falun Gong in that province. He knows clearly the CCP's plan to eradicate Falun Gong. They thought they could save me from disaster and stop me from ruining my reputation and losing profit or ruining my family. |

| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 3) [16.02.2007] |
Mail is private, and laws forbidding others from opening, withholding, or destroying personal mail are common worldwide. But inside the Chinese labour camps, guards can violate this law at will. They have become the first readers of all Falun Dafa practitioners' mail. If they think a particular letter will not "help" a practitioner's brainwashing they will withhold the letter and never tell the practitioner about it. Sometimes they black out certain sentences in a letter before giving it to the recipient. The only contents they allow practitioners to read are those they think can help the practitioners to accept the brainwashing, such as family members not able to bear the pressure under the persecution, asking practitioners to give up, children missing their parents, a husband wants a divorce, their elderly parents are sick, etc. |
|
| First Hand Experience of Cruel Brainwashing at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp (Part 2) [15.02.2007] |
They watched me around the clock and made sure I did not fall asleep or take a nap. They took turns brainwashing me, and they also made me watch videos that slandered Teacher and Dafa. One shift was before midnight and the other shift was after midnight. They loudly claimed that I was "psychologically controlled". In order to confuse me and create self-doubt, they kept saying it over and over, and the guards said it repeatedly at all meetings. On the other hand, they watched my every move, facial expression and mood. They seized on the slightest subconscious move I made to prove their point, that I was manipulated and possessed. After this experience I understood why and how some people had a mental collapse. |

| UK Resident’s Sister is Illegally Imprisoned by the Chinese Communist Party [13.02.2007] |
Mrs. Wenjian Liang is the younger sister of UK citizen Mrs. Jane Liang. In February 2000, Mrs Wenjian Liang was illegally arrested because she practises Falun Gong and is against the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of the practice. She was been sentenced to 2 years in a forced labour camp by Guangzhou police station without any legal trial. We are calling for the international society to help rescue Wenjian Liang and Zhiyong Lin, and to condemn the CCP’s evil conduct. |

| Mr. Tian Shuangjiang Recounts the Persecution He Experienced at the Keerqin District Detention Centre in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia [12.02.2007] |
"I was detained in a detention centre for one year, then I realised that it was wrong to suffer this persecution, and I refused to wear the prison uniform. Guard Liu Xixian put me in a "pig shackle," handcuffs and shackles soldered together with a short iron shackle. One cannot stand up straight, and can only take small steps while bent over. One cannot even undo one's trousers to use the toilet without someone's help. Later they put another tool on me made of iron pipes with shackles on the upper end for the hands, and shackles on the lower end for the legs. After being secured one cannot even move. They made the shackles very tight, even cutting into my muscles. I spent four days and nights like this; it seemed worse than death." |

| A Practitioner Exposes the Crimes Committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) After Her Memory Is Restored [08.02.2007] |
"I once lost my memory due to the brutal persecution I endured. I was arrested at home and forcibly taken into detention. I was brutally beaten while my arms were handcuffed behind my back and my head was covered by a thick blanket. Officer Xu forced powdered red pepper into my nose, eyes and mouth. Officer Guo inserted two lit cigarettes into my nostrils. They shocked me with electric batons and repeatedly kicked me with heavy boots. Both of my arms were broken from the beating, and I lost feeling in both hands. I fainted several times during the ordeal." |

| The Defence Statement of Ms. Wang Bo's Father, Wang Xinzhong [29.01.2007] |
Ms. Wang Bo has suffered from persecution and forcible brainwashing at a young age for practising Falun Dafa. She was arrested and sent to forced labour again and again, with her parents, and her family suffered numerous separations. In April 2004, Wang Bo's family appeared in the CCTV programme, "Focal Point," and was set up by the CCP as a "model" for "reformation through education." In 2005, the family broke away from the control of the 610 Office. They told the outside world how the CCTV tarnished Falun Gong by editing and distorting what they had said. Because they spoke the truth, they left their home and started a life in exile. They were arrested again on July 27th, 2006, and were charged with fabricated accusations |
|
| I Witnessed Persecution in Lanzhou Women's Labour Camp in Gansu Province [28.01.2007] |
The police from the labour camp often forced all detained Falun Gong practitioners to write a so-called "guarantee statement" to give up practising Falun Gong. If anybody refused to do so, they would torture her with many different methods. Once, Ms. Zhang Xuxia shouted "Falun Dafa is good" in the labour camp. She was taken to a garrison room and a female guard instructed a prison inmate to beat her badly. I saw her mouth bleeding and swollen after she came back. Falun Gong practitioners who refused to be "transformed" were forced to sleep on the cement floor and beaten black and blue. |

| Practitioner Yang Xiuqin from Liaoning Province Describes Persecution She Has Endured Since 1999 [27.01.2007] |
In March 2000 I was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Guard Fang Yehong ordered an inmate to take me to the toilet where they attempted to force me to give up my cultivation and belief. I refused. the inmate beat me. She slapped my face, making it swell, then pushed my chest with her leg, and hit my back with her elbow and fist. My chest and back became black and purple. I vomited, felt dizzy and had a headache, which was very painful. They also deprived me of sleep and forced me to read the books that slander Falun Gong. I refused to read, so they verbally abused me and beat me. Each day spent in that Masanjia camp seemed like a year. |

| Recalling the Savage Abuses I Was Made to Endure at Shayang Forced Labour Camp, Hubei Province [14.01.2007] |
My name is Dong Dengzhi. I was arrested on August 29th, 2003 for handing out Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution and was sent to Shayang Forced Labour Camp in Jingmen City. As soon as I arrived, the camp officials designated two criminals to monitor me. They attempted to force me to write a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Dafa, but I refused. One criminal hit me hard on my chest, stomach and back, kicked my genital area very hard, which made me scream. |

| Ms. Cheng Hanbo Died at 49 as a Result of Torture at Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province [10.01.2007] |
Since the beginning of the persecution in July 1999, Ms. Cheng Hanbo, a Falun Dafa practitioner, was subjected to inhuman torture by the local 610 Office, police, and guards at the detention centre and forced labour camp. Her family members were implicated under the Chinese Communist Party's "implication policy," and the local persecutors extorted more than 10,000 yuan from her family. Mrs. Cheng was tortured at Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. She suffered cruel mental and physical torture, and she did not recover. To avoid further persecution, the family had to move. During the past several months, Ms. Cheng had difficulty eating. She died on December 17th, 2006, at the age of 49.

| Everyone in My Family Was Persecuted [04.01.2007] |
My father unfurled a banner at Tiananmen Square to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa and suffered a brutal beating by the police on the square. Though he was injured and in pain, the guards still ordered prisoners to watch him and not let him practise the exercises. They forced him to sit on a wooden board all day and memorise prison rules, and they beat him if he did not remember them correctly. After three months of detention, his healthy body reverted to the illnesses he had before practising Dafa. He had difficulty urinating and his body was covered with extremely itchy and painful scabies. It wasn't until my father was at his last gasp that the police allowed him to go home with my mother. He passed away on May 8th, 2001. |

| Liu Guifu Shares His Experience of Being Persecuted [04.01.2007] |
I was being tortured by an official when the wife of one of the persecutors called, wanting him to rush home. The pitiful thing is that the husband said to his wife over the phone, "We are 'interrogating' a Falun Gong practitioner and he won't give in. If you don't believe it, listen." Then he turned his mobile phone in order for his wife to listen to my horrifying cries. They committed evil deeds and they wanted to have their family members involved. They treated the horrifying cries of Dafa practitioners as beautiful music. The more pitiful thing is that the female police officers, who didn't have any sympathy, said in a sarcastic way, "Everyone says that Falun Gong practitioners are not afraid of death. Today we have truly seen that. It is so true." |

| Police in Zhoukou City, Henan Province Have Persecuted Me Since 1999 [01.01.2007] |
On October 3rd, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal. At the Beijing train station, I was arrested and taken to the police department. Gao Feng and other officers, as well as Deputy Minister of the Zhoukou Department of Culture Gao Zhenhuan, Curator of the Cultural Centre Zhao Guangzun, and Liu Xinping tortured me. Gao Feng grabbed me by my collar and shouted, "I will beat you to death. Even if I beat you to death, I still will not feel that I have vented my anger." As he shouted, he hit my head against the wall and attempted to force me to remain kneeling for five hours. I firmly refused to kneel down. In addition, 9,000 yuan was extorted from me. |

| Ms. Lu Zhongqin, 56, from Heilongjiang Province Recounts the Persecution She Suffered [28.12.2006] |
In order to awaken the local police and officials, I wrote and mailed letters to explain the facts about Falun Dafa to them. Police came to my family-run restaurant to check my handwriting to determine if the letters sent to them were from me. My home phone was tapped and I was monitored. I was asked to sign in with them every day. I refused, and the local police rushed to my restaurant to harass me. One policeman said, "If you don't listen to me, we'll arrest you." My whole family was made to live in fear and couldn't even sleep well.

| Ms. Li Bin Escapes to the U.S. and Recounts the Psychiatric Abuse She Suffered at Siping Mental Hospital in Jilin Province [19.12.2006] |
I was arrested in November 1999 at a Dafa cultivation experience sharing conference in Guangzhou City, and the police sent me to Siping Mental Hospital in Jilin Province in January 2000 because I wouldn't give up my belief. I was cruelly tortured. I was sentenced to one year of forced labour in April 2000, and I was subsequently held at Dongcheng Detention Centre, Beijing Labour Reeducation Dispatch Division, and Xinan Women's Labour Camp in Beijing. I rubbed shoulders with death from constant abuse. I arrived in the US in July 2004. |

| Exposing Crimes at Tumuji Forced Labour Camp in Inner Mongolia from My Own Experiences [19.12.2006] |
I was arrested on June 28th, 2004, and sent directly to the Tumuji Women's Forced Labour Camp to serve a three-year sentence. Arriving there, they searched me and my luggage; even the toilet paper was opened. Then they put me into a "reformation group," isolated from all others. I ate in the cell and was followed all the time, even when I was sleeping or going to the toilet. They subjected me to around-the-clock mental torment, tried brainwash me with propaganda, and tried to force me to write the three statements (to denounce Falun Gong). Three female guards and two criminal inmates watched me. I refused to listen to the them and refused to compromise in any way. They got angry and kept on insulting me, refusing to let me sleep. |

| The Mental Torment and Physical Persecution I Have Endured from the Age of 16 [12.12.2006] |
After police arrested me at home I was sent to Jixian Detention Centre. Guard Wang Yan beat me. My nose bled. They forced me to half-squat. They burned my face with cigarette lighters. They also put water-filled bottles and wooden sticks between my fingers. If I moved a little bit, they'd start to beat me. Later that evening they stopped and sent me to a cell. I was only 16 years old at the time. They noticed that I was young, so they tried to intimidate and scare me. They wanted me to renounce Falun Dafa but I did not. |

| A Female Practitioner Who Escaped From China: I Was Persecuted in Shanghai Women's Prison [10.12.2006] |
I am a Falun Gong practitioner who just escaped from the clutches of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I am one of those fortunate enough to reside overseas. The CCP sentenced me to five years in the Shanghai City Women's Prison. All the products made by the inmates at the prison were for export. Inmates made clothes, trousers, cushion seats, national flags (I made over ten thousand British flags), toys, wool sweaters, shirts with shiny beads, bedding, chopsticks, napkins, envelops, lunch boxes, plastic bags, paper bags. |

| How the 202nd Squadron at the Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province Persecutes Practitioners [07.12.2006] |
The 202nd Squadron was the centre for detaining and torturing practitioners. Those primarily responsible were: Bian Shuqiang, Zhang Li, and Dong Guoxin. They utilized various methods to fiendishly torture us, such as repeatedly airing anti-Falun Gong propaganda forcing us to view drawings slandering Falun Gong, using sleep-deprivation, forcing us to squat for long periods of time, shocking us with electric batons, hitting us with sticks, barbarically force feeding us, and forcing us to overwork so as to damage our health. |

| The Persecution Other Practitioners and I Experienced at Yushu City Detention Centre and Heizuizi Labour Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province [05.12.2006] |
After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20th, 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested and sent back to Yushu City Detention Centre. Director Wei Fucheng and his guards forced us to recite prison rules, sit on benches, do physical exercises and perform hard labour. When we refused to follow orders, they beat us with plastic tubes. Later, they transferred us to a jail, where we were kept in damp, cold and dark cells. I was tortured constantly. Director Guo once put shackles on me. I was also hung up and beaten. Guard Li slapped me repeatedly, causing my nose to bleed and I saw stars. My ears were also deaf for a short time. |

| Darkness Lurks in the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison [20.11.2006] |
I myself have lived through the brutal terror inside the special "classroom." There was a varying number of "guards" who were selected from the most hard core criminals. I suffered through several savage beatings at their hands. Sometimes all five beat me at the same time and I started to bleed from the head. Since I would not betray or criticise Falun Gong, several of them grabbed my hands and pounded them against the table, causing my hands to bleed and swell up. They also cursed us and verbally abused us. They sometimes did not allow me to drink water for two days at a time, or they gave me only a very small amount of water. I suffered terribly, being so thirsty. |

| Mr. Huang Min Tells of the Cruel Tortures He Suffered in Forced Labour Camps for Five Years and Seven Months [18.11.2006] |
In September 2001, I was transferred to Yushan Forced Labour Camp. They used violence in order to make me renounce Falun Gong. The prison guards had four inmates brutally beat me on an average of six rounds a day. When they realised that beating would not work, they resorted to different means of torture. They kept hitting my wrists and finger joints with a pair of forceps until all the soft issues and tendons were badly swollen. In addition, they hit me on my ankles and toes, the areas that are more sensitive to pain. They made a hammer out of copper wires and used it to hit my head until there were bumps all over my head. Finally they poked my fingertips with large sewing needles until my fingers bled profusely. |

| Mr. Du Yinghui Recounts the Persecution of His Family in Tianjin City [12.11.2006] |
At Shuangkou Forced Labour Camp, my brother suffered from inhuman torture. In order to force him to renounce Falun Gong, the vicious guards cursed, insulted and beat him up. They smeared hot pepper juice and feces all over his lips and nose. In the middle of the winter, they stripped off his clothes and tied him in front of the window in his cell. They also soaked his feet in icy cold water for long hours and tortured him with brutal force-feeding that caused severe gastritis. But my brother persevered due to his steadfast faith in Falun Gong. | Ms. Liu Xiangfen Escaped to the U.S. and Described Her Persecution Suffered in Beijing [03.11.2006] |
I am a Falun Dafa practitioner who came to the US from Beijing, China. Starting in 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong, I was detained four times. Two times I was held in a detention centre and the other two times in a forced labour camp. After I was released in 2005 my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter didn't recognise me any more and saw her babysitter as her mother. My elder daughter (10 years old) had also changed. My husband had a child with his mistress when I was detained at the forced labour camp and asked for a divorce. |

| The Torture Experienced by Practitioner Ms. Zhang Sufang from Henan Province [30.10.2006] |
I went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing three separate times. I was immediately taken to the Chaoyang District Detention Centre, where I suffered from all types of torture. The guards ordered four criminals to beat me and to rip off my clothes. Only my underclothes were left on. Then they punched and kicked me while wearing their leather shoes for more than three hours. My whole body was black and blue. I was spitting up blood, and I fell on the ground. I was also force-fed with pepper water. |

| My Experience of Being Arrested, Imprisoned and Force-fed: Written in a Detention Centre by Practitioner Liu Yu from Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province [28.10.2006] |
Ms. Liu Yu was detained in a detention centre and went on a hunger strike to protest. She recounts,"A doctor used ropes to tie my four limbs. He also shouted, "I want to hear the pig cries when we slaughter it." I used all my strength to resist, but I was not able to deal with so many people. I was then savagely force-fed. Two nurses inserted a plastic tube into my nose. The tube touched my throat and I shook violently from the discomfort. Both my throat and stomach were in great pain from the tube insertion. I felt humiliated and injured. All of my limbs were numb, as I was not able to move at all. They kept moving the tube up and down inside my stomach." |

| Ms. Zhang Guiqin Developed Advanced Bone Marrow Cancer As a Result of Persecution in Heilongjiang Women's Prison [24.10.2006] |
Because I cultivated Falun Dafa, and strove to be a good person, I was detained in Heilongjiang Women's Prison for four years and suffered all kinds of persecution. Guards taped practitioners mouths to stop us from crying out and persecuted us with the torture, "handcuffed behind the back". Since that day I started to experience difficulty in walking and had pain in my lower back and legs. People in the prison hospital saw that I was seriously ill and decided to take me to be examined in a hospital outside of the prison. After examination the results were as follows: old bone fracture, bone marrow cancer and osteoporosis. They said I was in the last stages of cancer and needed two people to take care of me. |

| Seeing the Sham Chinese Legal System Through My Own Persecution Experience [22.10.2006] |
I was taken to the Jiawang District Court for a trial. After the presiding judge announced several legal articles, the public prosecutor used illegal articles to prosecute me. When I started my self-defence and had spoken for only less than five minutes, the presiding judge stood up and threatened me: "Don't talk!" When I strongly defended myself for about three minutes, he again shouted at me and didn't allow me to continue speaking. At this point, I could not even defend myself. Less than one hour had passed since he announced that I had the right to a defence. In the end, they sentenced me to four years in prison. |

| Practitioner Living in Sweden: The Persecution Separated Our Family [19.10.2006] |
Since July 20th, 1999, Falun Gong practitioners, including my mother Li Hua and my step-father Huang Shengjie, have been subject to various forms of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In February 2006, the police took my mother and my step-father away from their home. The police charged my mother in court and requested a two and a half year prison sentence. But the court didn't accept the case, as my mum's conduct was not serious enough to receive a sentence. Nonetheless my mum is still incarcerated at the Qinghe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing. At the same time, my step-father is also unlawfully detained at an unknown place. |

| Ten Types of Torture I Experienced During Imprisonment at Masanjia Labour Camp [19.10.2006] |
In 28 months, the perpetrators used over ten different methods to torture me including "Back lock" where one arm crosses the front of the body, while the other crosses behind the back, and the hands are locked together behind the back. The neck is tied to the feet with rope, making it impossible to raise the head. One's body cannot sustain such a position, and after over forty minutes, I was sweating all over, and my heart could not bear it any longer. I was only unlocked after they realised that I would die if the torture continued. |

| Ms. Dai Ying, Living in Europe, Recounts the Cruel Torture She Suffered in China [18.10.2006] |
On March 5th, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution. Police detained me in Futian District Detention Centre. In order to resist and protest the persecution, I went on a hunger strike and the police force-fed me. They put a very rigid tube into my nose until I bled. When the tube did not reach my stomach, they forced my teeth open with a screwdriver. Then they put a bamboo barrel with a very sharp end into my mouth with a lot of force. My mouth hurt immediately. After that, they force-fed me with food or condensed salt water. I felt like choking. After they finished the forced-feeding, I felt as if I had died. |

| Mr. Lu Tong Recounts the Torture He Suffered at Fangqiang Forced Labour Camp in Jiangsu Province [15.10.2006] |
Practitioners who refused to renounce Falun Gong were forced to stand in the corner facing the wall from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. or 4:00 a.m. the next morning. Sometimes practitioners were forced to stand all night. Inmates took turns to monitor us around the clock. In this vicious environment, physically abused and injured practitioners were forced to clean the floor on their knees [because they no longer could stand after standing for long hours.] Fifty-eight-year-old Zhao Jinquan's ankles were so swollen that they became as thick as his calves. Some practitioners had been forced to stand daily for five months or a year. I was forced to stand still daily for over three months. |
