| Mr. Liu Haibin of Tianjin Arrested Again by 610 Office Personnel [03.07.2008] |
On May 26th, 2008, Mr. Liu Haibin was arrested by police officers and is being held in the Dongli District Detention Centre. According to inside information, ever since his arrest on May 26th, he has been on a hunger strike in protest. He has spoken only three sentences: "Falun Gong is good. 'Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance' is good. I am innocent." Back in October of 2000, Mr. Liu was sentenced to four years in prison for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. While in prison, he suffered various forms of torture for not giving up his belief. |

| Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Laishui County, Hebei Province [03.07.2008] |
After the Sichuan earthquake, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) County Council and the local government, 610 Office, Public Security Bureau, National Security Team, and all levels of village and town Party committees created a special squad dedicated to arresting and harassing Falun Gong practitioners under the pretext of "protecting the Olympics." They used a list of practitioners from 1999. Moreover, the local television station was used to manipulate local citizens into monitoring and reporting practitioners, and promised, at least in name, a reward of 5,000 yuan for each report. |

| Additional Information on the Arrests of Ms. Dong Xuexia and Mr. Liu Fenglin by Officers from the Zhaoyuan Ranch Police Department in Daqing City [02.07.2008] |
In September 2007, Ms. Dong Xuexia was arrested by the Nongken Police and taken to the Heping Ranch Detention Centre. During her 50 days of imprisonment, she was brutally tortured, severely beaten, and subjected to electric shocks. She was physically and mentally tormented to such a great extent that all of her hair fell out. The police did not let her leave until she was mentally traumatized. On June 5th, 2008, several officers from the Ranch Police Station again arrested Ms. Dong before she had completely regained her sanity. She is now detained in Heping Ranch Detention Centre. |

| Older Practitioner Mr. Qin Sichao Arrested in Linjiang City, Jilin Province [02.07.2008] |
Mr. Qin Sichao, 53, suffers from heart disease. Believing a Falun Gong amulet could cure his illness, Mr. Qin hung one in his car. Someone informed the police of this and on May 21st, 2008, Mr. Qin was tricked into going to the Linjiang building, where he was arrested and taken to Linjiang Detention Centre. On June 5th, 2008, Qin Sichao was sentenced to one year of forced labour. Mr. Qin's wife has not received any information regarding her husband. |

| As Olympics Draw Closer, Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Taiyuan City [30.06.2008] |
From May to June, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has disseminated propaganda throughout China that slanders Falun Gong and intensifies the persecution of practitioners. The CCP has also planned the arrest of Falun Gong practitioners in different government organizations. Recently the Taiyuan Police Department of Shanxi Province has arrested about twenty Falun Gong practitioners. |

| Practitioners Arrested by 610 Office in "Preparations for the Olympics" in Tianjin City [30.06.2008] |
Agents from the 610 Office of Tianjin City arrested practitioners in the name of preparing for the Olympic Games. There are 21 practitioners listed on the name register of Dagang District. Zhang Gaoli, chief of Chinese Communist Party in Tianjin City, secretly came to Dagang District to assume personal command, compelling work units, families and individuals to promise they would not go out to participate in group activities or appeal to the government or other things of this nature. The Political and Judiciary Committee of the Chinese Communist Party of Dagang District, Tianjin City, 610 Office, and the police participated in these arrests and the harassment of Falun Gong practitioners. |

| Police Arrest Numerous Falun Gong Practitioners and Ransack Their Homes in Laishui County, Hebei Province [29.06.2008] |
On June, 6th, 2008, more than a dozen police officers from Laishui County arriving in three vehicles harassed many Falun Gong practitioners and ransacked their homes. The officers claimed that they were from Hebei Province, Baoding City and Laishui County. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Helin was supporting the victims of the terrible earthquake in Sichuan Province with donations. For some reason, his kind actions were construed as a "crime" by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They claimed that Mr. Zhang must be a Falun Gong leader because he had donated lots of money. As a result, his home was ransacked by police officers. |

| Communist Party Officials in Yueyang City Arrest 25 Practitioners in Two Days [29.06.2008] |
The Olympic torch relay was scheduled to pass through Yueyang City, Hunan Province on June 3rd, 2008. On June 1st and June 2nd, members of the Yueyang City 610 Office arrested 25 practitioners. The police also searched the practitioners' homes. Orders were given to Party officials to keep an eye on each practitioner on file. The officials spread the rumour that it was mandatory to prevent Falun Gong followers from disrupting the Olympic torch relay. An all-out campaign was launched to arrest practitioners. Each practitioner on file was closely followed or watched. The officials even threatened some practitioners to prevent them from leaving home. |

| Mr. Yu Qingyuan Arrested; His Wife Escapes Detention Centre but Remains Homeless [29.06.2008] |
Mr. Yu Qingyuan is a Falun Gong practitioner who was arrested by the police on the train in May 2008. On the evening of April 23rd, 2008, police arrested Mr. Yu's wife Yuan Shujun. Later, Ms. Yuan Shujun escaped from the Shuanliao Detention Centre and then abandoned her home to avoid further persecution. Mr. Yu's daughter has been traumatized by this series of events. Presently, Mr. Yu's father-in-law takes care of Mr. Yu's daughter and their life is very difficult. |

| The Persecution of Mr. Wu Wenfeng, a Blind Practitioner from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province [28.06.2008] |
Mr. Wu Wenfeng, a blind Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested in June 2008 at an elderly people's centre by police from the Xinjieji Police Station on June 5th, 2008. Since the Chinese Communist Party launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Wu has also been often persecuted. On September 22nd, 2003, Mr. Wu was transferred to Dongsheng elderly people's centre where he was detained and closely monitored. One policeman from the 610 Office told him, "We will lock you up here until you die." |

| Jiangdu Court Trial Shows the Despicable Nature of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Court System [25.06.2008] |
On June 12th, Judge Zhang Jun of Jiangdu Court in Jiangsu Province presided over a trial involving defendant Mr. Wei Bensheng, a Falun Gong practitioner. At the beginning of the trial, two public prosecutors from Jiangdu Municipal Procuratorate read aloud the false, fabricated charges against Mr. Wei. Mr. Wei's defence lawyers pointed out to the court that the prosecution against Mr. Wei was in direct violation of the Chinese constitution, which grants each Chinese citizen the right to freedom of belief and freedom of speech.

| Police Officers Search the Home of a Retired Teacher and Her Disabled Daughter [23.06.2008] |
On May 28th, 2008, Ms. Zhang Fuhua, a retired teacher living in the Oil Extraction Community, Dagang Oil Field, Tianjin City, had her home broken into by seven police officers. Claiming that someone had reported Ms. Zhang for practising Falun Gong, distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong, officers searched her home and seized all Falun Gong-related books and materials. Before leaving, several police seized her hand and forced her to sign a piece of paper against her will. |

| Arrests of Falun Gong Practitioners Wang Yinghua, Wang Yingxia, and Others from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province [23.06.2008] |
Two sisters, Wang Yinghua and Wang Yingxia, were arrested and detained by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. The oldest sister, Wang Yinghua, was detained in Jiamusi Detention Centre for more than two months after she was arrested by the Tiananmen Square police for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. The police did not release her until she was near death due to the police brutality. The other sister, Wang Yingxia, was also arrested, and her house has been ransacked five times since 1999. The police have extorted tens of thousands of yuan from her. She was twice sent to a forced labour camp. When she was detained in Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp, the police put her through numerous forms of torture. |

In April 2008, the Tongliao City Police Department, Ke District Police Department, Domestic Security Division, several police stations, and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel from neighbourhood administrations made a coordinated effort to conduct a so-called "secret check-up" on local practitioners. They phoned or visited them, using the excuses of address verification, low income assistance registration, or providing job opportunities. On May 30th, they began wide-spread arrests. Police arrived with five locksmiths at the home of a female practitioner surnamed Zhang, broke in after picking the lock, and arrested this practitioner. |

| Children of Practitioners Arrested by Police in Dongkou County, Hunan Province [22.06.2008] |
Practitioner Ms. Xiao Hongyan was arrested on May 13th, 2008, and is currently being held in Dongkou County Detention Centre. Practitioner Ms. Liu Qiju was arrested on July 28th, 2007, and is now imprisoned at Baimalong Forced Labour Camp. On June 2nd, 2008, Xiang Xuan, director of a legal institute went to the home of Ms. Xiao's relatives. They charged Ms. Xiao's son Xiang Zhiyuan and Ms. Liu's son Xiang Shuocheng with going on-line at an Internet cafe to demand the release of their mothers. The police wanted to arrest the two boys, but local village officials said both were still teenagers. However, that night, Domestic Security Division officers still arrested Xiang Zhiyuan. Xiang Shuocheng managed to escape. |

| Chinese Communist Party Members in Qinan County, Shandong Province Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners [22.06.2008] |
Using the upcoming Olympic Games as an excuse, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials are persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Shuanghou Town on a large scale. So far, the police have arrested four practitioners. The four practitioners are currently held at the Qinan County Detention Centre, and have been subjected to interrogation and mistreatment. Two practitioners left home to avoid persecution, many have been harassed and interrogated, and homes were searched. |

It is well-known that Mengyin County of Shandong Province is one of China's most poverty-stricken areas. Police from the local 610 Office and police stations use every chance possible to harass, torture and fine Falun Gong practitioners. Usually, they arrest practitioners and ransack their homes. They steal anything of value, including chickens, rabbits, dogs and trees. They take practitioners to brainwashing centres, police stations or detention centres. They take advantage of the sentimentality of practitioners' family members who do not want to see their loved ones suffer, and force them to pay excessive fines. Some practitioners become impoverished due to the greediness of those evil people, and their children have to quit school and work to help pay the debts. |

| Three Falun Gong Practitioners from Hongjiang City, Hunan Province Arrested [21.06.2008] |
On May 28th, police officers from Hongjiang City broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Biyun's home. They ransacked the home, arrested Ms. Wang, and then detained her at Baihunao Detention Centre. At 7:00 p.m., police officers broke into Ms. Yang Jinlan's home, and arrested Ms. Yang, who is in her seventies, then also detained her at the Baihunao Detention Centre. On May 30th, each was extorted of 800 yuan before they were released. |

| Multiple Falun Gong Practitioners from Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province Arrested [21.06.2008] |
Police arrested Ms. Chen Guifang as she was distributing material exposing the persecution on December 26th, 2007. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term. Ms. Chen Guifang has a dependent mother in her eighties who is now left to fend for herself. Ms. Lu Guizhen was arrested by a police officer as she was distributing Falun Gong-related materials on January 12th, 2008. She was sentenced to a one-year prison term and became ill due to mistreatment in detention. Her mental health is very poor. Despite frequent inquiries and requests for release by her family, the prison authorities have refused to release her. |

On June 4th, 2008, Ms. Wang Changping, a practitioner, went to the Gepu Police Station to request the release of two female practitioners. Police officers forced her into a police car. She was detained at Dongmafang Police Station for more than two hours. During this time, the police prohibited her family from seeing her and also beat them. On June 5th, 2008, Ms. Gao Wenxia, Ms. Li Yuling, and another female practitioner visited Dongmafang Police Station to ask for the release of Ms. Wang. As a result, the three were forced into a police car and taken to the No. 2 Detention Centre in Yingcheng City. |

In the name of securing stability for the upcoming Olympic Games, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents in Zhuolu County, Hebei Province have been monitoring and registering all Falun Gong practitioners in the area. Under the pretext of checking their resident ID cards, the county government and police station are going from house to house, interrogating and examining county residents. Their goal is to monitor Falun Gong practitioners, Tibetans, religious groups, and petitioners. Meanwhile, police officers of the Zhuolu County 610 Office have repeatedly harassed practitioners who are supposedly "key characters" and tried to force them to sign documents promising that they will give up their beliefs. |

On the morning of April 7th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yanxiang, 71, jumped from the window of her third floor apartment to avoid being arrested. Ms. Wang's neighbours found her and took her to Longnan Hospital in Daqing City. She suffered several broken ribs, a broken leg, and internal injuries that resulted in fluid in her pleural cavity. Her daughter Liu Shufen is unable to care for her because Ms. Liu was sentenced to eleven years in prison and is currently in Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison. |

Judge Li Dejun was a chief judge of the Hongqi Court under the Ganjingzi District Court in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. After listening to several cases brought against Falun Gong practitioners, he himself became a steadfast Falun Gong practitioner. In June 2006, he was arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel. In February 2008, he was sentenced to three years in prison. He is currently being held in the Dalian Railroad Detention Centre. |

| Elderly Zhang Zongsu and Her Husband, Li Guocai, Arrested and Held for Thirteen Months in Tangshan City, Hebei Province [16.06.2008] |
Two elderly Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Zhang Zongsu and her husband, Mr. Li Guocai, were arrested by plain-clothes police on April 26th, 2007. Six months later, on October 20th, 2007, Ms. Zhang was sentenced to seven years in prison and Mr. Li Guocai to four years in prison. Until recently, they were detained at the Tangshan City First Detention Centre. In the beginning of January 2008, practitioners held in the detention centre began a group protest. Ms. Zhang was beaten and cursed. She was made to wear 22-pound handcuffs and shackles. On January 8th, 2008, her hands trembling uncontrollably, Ms. Zhang fainted. Afterwards, she could not take care of her own personal hygiene, she could not feed herself, and she could not clean her own clothes for two weeks. |

On May 18th, 2008, Ms. Yu Zhiying, a Falun Gong practitioner, was reported to the authorities as she distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong at a food market. She was then once again arrested by the Zhenhai police and imprisoned. She will likely face sentencing. Meanwhile, her daughter in junior high school and her husband who had previously been poisoned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are now facing harassment and confiscation of the family's property. Previously, her husband had submitted Falun Gong books and leaflets to the court, which provided so-called "evidence" for Ms. Yu to Moganshan Forced Labour Camp for one and a half years. |

| Practitioners who Consoled Earthquake Victims are Mercilessly Beaten, Robbed and Arrested by Police Officers in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province [14.06.2008] |
Practitioner Ms. He Meixian and her family have been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) due to their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance since 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong began. Ms. He's family members have been beaten to death by police, her home has been decimated, and her life made extremely difficult due to the persecution. Prior to the large earthquake in Sichuan Province, there was an earthquake in Pan County, Guizhou Province, in early May 2008. This earthquake damaged Ms. He Meixians house. After this news got out, practitioners in Guiyang City went to visit her at her temporary home. They were all arrested by police. |

| Practitioners Hu Ruirong and Lei Yunqun, Husband and Wife from Hengyang City, Hunan Province, Repeatedly Arrested [14.06.2008] |
Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wu Ruirong and Ms. Lei Yingqun, husband and wife, were arrested by the police at 11:30 a.m. on May 24th, 2008 as they were working in a bridal studio in Hengyang City. The police ransacked their residence and used the pretext of "having found six pieces of evidence" as reason to hold them. On March 13th, 2002, Hengyang City Police Department agents detained Wu Ruirong for an unnamed crime and later incarcerated him at the Kaipu Forced Labour Camp in Changsha for two years. The family has suffered greatly due to the persecution. |

On April 11th, practitioner Mr. Zhang Hejun had already been detained and persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for a year. He was arrested again and was taken back to Zhuzhou City. The party members hung him by his wrists and poured pepper juice on him. Mr. Zhang is now deaf in his right ear, his right hand is numb, and his right foot is fractured. The police officers also threatened to beat him to the point of mental collapse. |

| Details of the Persecution of Older Practitioner Ms. Qiu Xiu'e from Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province [13.06.2008] |
Ms. Qiu Xiu'e is a 56-year-old Falun Gong practitioner. She has been arrested and detained several times since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. On February 3rd, 2004, Ms. Qiu was sentenced to a three-year jail term. She appealed and went on a hunger strike to protest this unjust sentence. As a result, both her hands and feet were handcuffed, and she was tied on a bed so that she could not move and later lost control of her bladder. On February 24th, she was tortured in Zhejiang Women's Prison. She was not allowed to sleep if she did not write the guarantee statement declaring that she gave up Falun Gong. She was personally monitored and forcibly brainwashed. Until May of 2008, officials withheld part of her pension for the time of her detention. |

On May 13th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiulan, in her 50s, her sister, Ms. Zhang Xiuchun, and four other people, including their parents, were arrested by police officers from Chaoyang Police Station after the officers broke into their home. Ms. Zhang Xiulan is still detained in the Ershilipu Detention Centre but the others have been released. The officers ransacked the homes of Ms. Zhang Xiulan, Ms. Zhang Xiuchun, and Ms. Xiao Ruan and stole personal items. |

| Large Scale Arrests and Harassment of Practitioners in Shouguang City [11.06.2008] |
Since March 2008 the authorities in Shouguang City have been carrying out large-scale persecution and arrests of Falun Gong practitioners. On March 25th, 2008, Shouguang City Police broke into 60-year-old practitioner Zhang Zedong's home in Xiguan Village and arrested him. Then, they sent Zhang Zedong to the detention centre. On April 2nd, 2008 the Shouguang City Television Station broadcast a meeting of local Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials showing city CCP Committee Secretary Liu Zhonghui making arrangements to persecute practitioners. Immediately after, he held a city-level meeting to devise a plan to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. |

| Two Brothers and a Sister Arrested and Tortured [10.06.2008] |
Mr. Fu Hongru is over 50 years old and lives in Tonghua City, Jilin Province. On April 23rd, 2008, he was arrested by the Tuanjie police and for the next two days was shocked with electric batons and beaten. When he was taken to the Changliu Detention Centre on April 25th, he was covered with cuts and bruises. To cover up the truth, the police officers wrote on the arrest warrant that he was arrested on April 25th. Fu Hongru's brother, Fu Hongjian, 46, and sister, Fu Lisa, were also arrested. Mr. Fu Hongjian was so brutally tortured that he was unable to walk. |

On May 14th, 2008, three police officers broke into Liu Baoguo's home. The police ransacked his home and then arrested him and tenant Jingjing. Their whereabouts is unknown. Liu Baoguo's home is in a mess because of the police ransacking. Since Liu Baoguo is a well-known honest fellow, his bitter experience has raised public anger. After experiencing constant harassment, Liu Guifu, wife of Liu Baoguo, moved abroad in forced exile. Liu Baoguo stopped practising Falun Gong when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999 because he was afraid of what the CCP would do to him and his family. |

On May 9th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Li Zongping, a disabled elderly man was arrested by police officers from the local 610 Office and Jushan Police Station. Before this happened, his wife Wang Fafeng had been sentenced to eighteen months in a labour camp. She was sent to the No.1 Women´s Labour Camp in Shandong Province on January 28th, 2008. During the nine years of persecution of Falun Gong, the couple has been arrested several times. Their home was searched by police. Authorities have extorted a total of 9260 Yuan from them in so-called "fines." |

| Police in Linjiang City, Jilin Province Arrest Numerous Falun Gong Practitioners, as well as Ransack Their Homes and Extort Money from Family Members [09.06.2008] |
Beginning in 2008, officials from the Linjiang City Police Department and those from the Senlin Police Department in Linjiang City have continually harassed and arrested practitioners. Practitioner Chi Minbao has been continually persecuted at the hands of officials from the Linjiang City Police Department for many years. The police tried to arrest him again recently. Chi Minbao decided to live away from home to avoid further persecution. Furthermore, the police also threatened, extorted money and ransacked the residence of practitioners Jiang Ying and Jiang Mingli and confiscated their personal belongings. |

| Mr. Shen Jian, His Wife Ms. Zhu Xunqing, and His Brother Shen Xiangjun Arrested in Zibo City, Shandong Province [09.06.2008] |
Mr. Shen Jian, 45, and his wife Ms. Zhu Xunqing, 43, were arrested on the night of May 18th, 2008 by agents from the National Security Division of the Zichuan Police Department, under the orders of the 610 Office. The couple drove to drop off their child at school. As soon as they got back and were about to walk through their front door, they were surrounded by a group of people who identified themselves as police officers from the Zichuan District Department. Mr. Shen and his wife were pushed into the police vehicle without seeing any paperwork. Currently, Ms. Zhu Xunqing is detained at the Zibo City Detention Centre in Fujia Town, Zhangdian District and four others are detained at the Zichuan Detention Centre. |

| Former Teacher from Police Management College in Guangzhou Arrested [09.06.2008] |
It was reported that on April 15th, 2008, the police arrested over 20 Falun Gong practitioners in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, and searched their homes. Ms. Zhao Ping is a former award-wining teacher from Police Management College in Guangzhou City. On April 15th, Guangzhou police officers arrested her and took her to Tianhe Detention Centre. When the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, Ms. Zhao was fired. Since losing her job, she has been detained several times and forced to attend brainwashing sessions. She has been sentenced to a forced labour camp for 3 years. Seeing his kind daughter suffering from persecution caused her father great pain. He passed away with sadness for the persecution of his daughter weighing heavily on his heart. |

On May 18th, 2008, a group of police officers climbed over a wall and broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Xinheng, who is over 60 years old and blind. They didn't showed any warrants and ransacked Mr. Yu's home and confiscated valuables. Mr. Yu and his wife were taken to the county police department, where police officers physically abused and interrogated them. Mr. Yu refused to say anything. A young police officer said, "This guy does not obey us and refuses to cooperate with us. Watch how I slap him in the face." Mr. Yu said to him, "I am 63 years old and blind. You also have parents. How would you feel if somebody hits your father even though he breaks no laws and just wants to be a kind person?" |

| Zhucheng City Police Arrested More than Twenty Falun Gong Practitioners in April and May 2008 [08.06.2008] |
We have collected information about the unjust arrests of more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners by police officers in Zhucheng City in April and May 2008. The information is incomplete, and in reality, many more practitioners were harassed. It has been reported that Zhang Xingye (male), director of the Zhucheng City Police Department, went to the Weifang Area for a meeting before this recent round of persecution started. He was rebuked because he had arrested fewer Falun Gong practitioners than the police in Shouguang City and other cities. After Zhang returned, he ordered all police stations under his command to escalate the persecution. Under the excuse of the upcoming Olympic Games, the Zhucheng City police have created an atmosphere of terror, harassing and terrorizing innocent people. |

| Elderly Mr. Yang Xiyao from Yanshan County, Hebei Province Detained in Prison [08.06.2008] |
In 2000, 68-year-old Mr. Yang was arrested while he was appealing for the end to the persecution. He was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment in Baoding Prison, Hebei Province. Mr. Yang was tortured so severely by the National Security Team at the Yanshan County Police Department and at Baoding Prison that he began to experience heart palpitations and vomit blood and he developed high blood pressure. Only when he was close to death in January 2006 was he released on bail for medical treatment. After Mr. Yang returned home, he again began to practise Falun Gong. As a result, he became healthy again very quickly. On April 21st, 2008, police arrested Mr. Yang again and sent him back to Baoding Prison. |

| Ms. Zhang Mengxia Sentenced to Five Years of Imprisonment After Suffering Multiple Arrests, Brainwashing and Torture [07.06.2008] |
Because Ms. Zhang Mengxia refused to write a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Gong in May 2002, officials at her workplace escorted her to a brainwashing centre to "reform" her. She suffered many other detainments and torture. On October 1st, 2007, Ms. Zhang, accompanied by other practitioners went to a popular tourist site in Zunhua City to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution. Local police officers arrested her and detained her in Zunhua Detention Centre, where she is still being held. She has been brutally force-fed, causing her hands and face to be covered with blood. It was too miserable to look at. On April 17th, 2008, six other practitioners together with Ms. Zhang were sentenced at the Zunhua Municipal Court. She was sentenced to a five-year term. |

My daughter, Ma Duo, has been held in Jiamusi Detention Centre in Heilongjiang Province for more than five months for practising Falun Gong. She might be sentenced now. I miss my daughter and worry about her. My daughter was about to leave for work on February 13th, 2007, when a group of police officers barged into our home. They ransacked our home, confiscating my computer and other personal belongings. Three police officers dragged me to their car and took me to the suburban Changhong Police Station. Then they went to Ma Duo's place of employment to abduct her. She was taken to Changhong Police Station. She has since been held in Jiamusi Detention Centre. I was released from detention because of my poor health. |

On May 1st, practitioner Guo Guangjun was reported when distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong, arrested by police officers and forced into making confessions by means of torture. The following day, Li Xiue was also arrested by officers of Yangkou Police Department. Her home was ransacked, and her computers and other personal belongings were confiscated. Policemen beat up Li Xiue, extorted confessions from her through torture, and did not allow her to sleep for four or five days. |
