Mr. Xu Renwu, 80, lives in Guang'an City. His wife Huang Zhihui, is 75 years old. Because the couple had persisted in practising Falun Gong and informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong and dispelling the state propaganda attacking the practice, they were persecuted by the police of Guang'an City. Mr. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison while Ms. Huang was sentenced to three and a half years. Mr. Xu and Ms. Huang are currently detained in the Chengbei Detention Centre in Guang'an City. Their relatives requested to meet with them and bring them some extra clothing but Zhang Qiang said that they were not allowed to see the couple due to orders from above.

On May 4th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. You Xianbang was sentenced to jail for three years with a fabricated charge. Around July 15th, 2009, the police secretly sent him to Sihui Prison without notifying his family. Mr. You Xianbang had previously been sentenced to one year of forced labour camp between 2001 and 2002.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Juhua was arrested by local 610 Office personnel Hu Shuzhi and others. They also searched her home. Currently, she is detained at Erdaopeng Brainwashing Centre. When her family asked Hu Zhishu for her whereabouts, he responded viciously and yelled, "Get out of the office!" One week after Li Juhua's arrest, her family finally discovered her whereabouts.

On November 3rd, 2005, Ms. Li Xiumei and her husband Mr. Wang Xinjia were helping entertain guests at their nephew's wedding. Police intruded and arrested Ms. Li. Ms. Li was taken to the Qingzhou City Brainwashing Camp. After Ms. Li Was released from a brainwashing camp, agents from the Qingzhou 610 Office used money, lies, and threats to incite local people to pressure Ms. Li to give up her belief in Falun Gong. They deceived Ms. Li into going to the house of Li Xinyi, where they kept her awake for days and nights, pinching her neck and holding her down while they rolled a rolling pin over her body. Ms. Li died in the house of Li Xinyi on the night of November 24th, 2005.

Since July 20th, 1999 when Jiang Zemin, the then head of the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong, Ms. Du Zhiheng has been arrested twice for adhering to her practice of Falun Gong. In September 2007, officials ransacked her home and took away many of her personal belongings, including cash and deposit books. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had considered Ms. Du Zhiheng a leader of the local practice group and wanted to sentence her to prison for seven years. At the end of April, 2009, Ms. Du Zhiheng was arrested by the police in Nanyang City. On August 18th, a court session began to try Ms. Du.

At noon on August 17th, 2009, officials from the Hailin City No.1 Police Station in Heilongjiang Province broke into Ms. Zhou Huifang's health gym and arrested her. They sent out three police vehicles to ransack her home and confiscate her personal belongings, including printers and computers. Mr. Huo Jiuxian, Ms. Zhou Huifang's husband went to the No.1 Police Station to request his wife's release. However, officials there threatened their son and daughter-in-law to take Mr. Huo back home. Mr. Huo was severely persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) during the Cultural Revolution. Now his wife has been arrested by the police. Whenever he thinks about his wife's misfortune, he cries uncontrollably.

Ms. Cheng Hua was employed as a vet before she retired some years ago. She practised Falun Gong and followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to improve herself. She refused to renounce her practice, so officials at the Dongguan Street Administration Office suspended her pension for more than seven years. This resulted in financial hardship for her. Currently she can only make ends meet by collecting garbage.

Mr. Jiang Bingzhi, a previously healthy farmer, entered the Suihua City Labour Camp on October 30th, 2008. The Camp Administration recently notified his family that he had fallen into a coma. When Mr. Jiang's family heard that he was bedridden and could not take care of himself due to being tortured in the camp, they requested to visit him, but they were turned away. Later, his family saw him in the Bei'an City Hospital with both legs covered with bruises and at the brink of death. Only a few days later, he died on August 26th, 2009.

Ms. Zhang Deping was captured on May 6th, 2008, and two months later forced to undergo "re-education" through forced labour. While Ms. Zhang was jailed, prison guards subjected her to many kinds of brutal tortures. Because Ms. Zhang resisted the persecution, she was locked up alone, and two drug addicts were assigned to bully her. Within a few days she was beaten until she suffered from internal injury, traumatic wounds, and her body was covered with cuts and bruises. Her big toe and second toe of her right foot were tortured to deformity. Though she was unable to squat down, she was forced to squat and could not stand up afterwards. During the night Ms. Zhang could not sleep, because when she tried to lie down it caused her excruciating pain.

On June 10th, 2009, a group of police officers went to the home of practitioner Wang Shenlun. Mr.Wang enjoyed helping people, and was often commended for his work. After they arrested him and took him to the detention centre, they took his key and ransacked his house when no one was there. They seized personal property, worth over 10,000 yuan. A few days later, Mr. Wang was taken to the Boyuquan Jail, but family members were not allowed to visit him. His eighty-year-old mother and other family members went to the National Security Squadron many times to request Mr. Wang's release, but they were rejected and were told that Mr. Wang would be prosecuted and sentenced to prison.

Mr. Zhang Chuanfu was arrested on July 28th, 2007, and taken to a forced labour camp on October 16th. In March 2008, guards beat Mr. Zhang with batons and kicked him because he refused to sing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) songs. The guards then tied his hands behind his back and hung him up on a bed frame, with feet off the ground. They shocked him with electric batons for four hours before taking him down. Mr. Zhang's hands were numb.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Xinnian was brutally shocked with an a 20,000 volts electric baton in Baoding Forced Labour Camp. When one practitioner first saw Mr. Liu at the camp, he thought that he was looking at a detainee from a WW2 concentration camp as he was painfully thin. Even after being released home, the community administration frequently harassed and threatened him. Mr. Liu died on April 20th, 2009.

My name is Qu Lihua and I am forty-four years old. Because of my perseverance in practising Falun Gong, I have been arrested, locked up, fired from my job and put into forced-labour camps in the past ten years. Now I have been forced to be homeless for almost two years. In the detention centre, us Falun Gong practitioners started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Guards and prisoners dragged us out while beating and kicking us and force-fed us. We were pressed down to chairs with our arms twisted behind our backs. It felt as if my arms were about to break. Prison doctors held mouth-opening devices, pinched our noses, and force fed us highly salted corn gruel, which spilled all over our heads and bodies. Some fellow practitioners were injured to the extent that they vomited blood and some lost consciousness.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiangju was recently sentenced to four years in prison by the District Court of Yuanbao in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. During the trial, her lawyer questioned the witness on the testimony he provided and made reasonable defence for her. However, he was threatened by the judge, who warned, "The more you defend her, the more severe her sentence will be. You have no choice but to have her plead guilty." Since the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Wang has been repeatedly arrested and sent to jail because of her unwillingness to give up the practice.

Chengdu Falun Gong practitioner Chen Changyuan sued the court after being sentenced to three years. On July 18th, he received a notice overruling his appeal and the unjust sentence from the first trial was upheld. He was taken secretly to Deyang Prison, but his attorney and family members were not notified by Judge Lin Qiao. After Mr. Chen's appeal for a hearing was accepted by the Intermediate Court, Lin Qiao tried many tactics to thwart Mr. Chen's attorney, first by preventing him from copying the notes from the first trial; second, by informing the attorney that it would be a "written trial" and not heard publicly; and third, by insisting the attorney hand over his speech for the defence prior to the case being heard.

Mr. Sun Xi was arrested in October 2000. He received a heavy sentence and was sent to the Tiebei Prison in Changchun City in the spring of 2002. Mr. Sun endured brutal beatings and other forms of torture while he was imprisoned and suffered muscle atrophy as a result, which caused him great difficulties in walking. After he was released, Mr. Sun was bedridden, coughed up blood and was incontinent. He died on August 5th, 2009.

After the Chinese regime began its persecution of Falun Gong in 1999 Mr. Li Wanyu and his wife, Ms. Sun Wanmei were sent to forced labour camps twice. Mr. Li was severely mistreated in the Chaoyanggou Labour Camp of Changchun City and ended up in a critical condition. The labour camp released him temporarily for medical treatment, although the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials continued to harass him and tried to extort money from him. He died on August 3rd, 2006 in an emaciated state.

Falun Gong practitioner Feng Gang was detained and tortured at a detention centre for more than one month and was in critical condition. He was taken to the hospital on August 10th. Despite the pain he was in, Feng Gang left the hospital to escape the police. It was said that Feng Gang was arrested by police at a supermarket, after returning home from the hospital. Feng Gang's family members went to a local police station and policeman Li Hongqiao told them: "Feng Gang will die within a few days."

On August 14th, 2009, police Mr. You Changbao while he was on his way to work. He was taken back to his home. The police confiscated dozens of Falun Gong books, one laptop computer and 2,000 yuan in cash. When asked if they had a search warrant, the officers replied: "There is no need for a search warrant for people like you (those who practise Falun Gong)." Mr. You's wife, Ms. Gao Wencheng, ran out of the house, but the officers caught her. They grabbed her by the hair and the ear and took her to a police car. Mr. You and Ms. Gao are now held at the Tonghe County Detention Centre.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Dan is a graduate of Jiamusi University. In October 2005, at the age of 29, she was taken into custody by police in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province and was tortured around the clock for five days. Later she was sent to Heilongjiang Women's Forced Labour Camp, where she was tortured to near death. In January 2006, Ms. Liu was sentenced to four years in prison and was sent to Heilongjiang Women's Prison. She is still in prison and suffering daily abuse and torture.

On August 2nd, 2009, the Linqing City Public Security Bureau in Shandong Province gave orders to the police in townships and villages under its jurisdiction to harass, arrest Falun Gong practitioners, and ransack their homes. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Lin was arrested from her home on August 3rd by police. They confiscated a computer, printer, a taxi tricycle, and tools. Ms. Wang was taken to a detention centre where she was so brutally beaten that her cervical spine was fractured, which caused her to lose consciousness. She was sent to the 2nd District Hospital in Liaocheng City.

Since 1999, Mr. Zhang Deming has been arrested, detained, and sent to brainwashing centres several times. On March 10th, 2008, the police arrested Mr. Zhang in his home, and confiscated a large amount of his personal property. On February 13th, 2009, the Baobeidian City Court sentenced him to a six-year prison term. On March 18th, two attorneys hired by Mr. Zhang's family, defended Mr. Zhang's innocence. However, on June 10th, the Baoding Intermediate Court disregarded the attorneys' appeal. When the attorneys told the court that the sentence was unreasonable, the court personnel replied, "We are unreasonable to begin with!" On July 15th, 2009, Mr. Zhang was sent to Jidong Prison.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Chuanshu was sent to the Chongqing Women's Prison at the end of November 2008. She died in prison on August 9th, 2009. The sixty-two-year-old Ms. Guo had been detained and persecuted six times; she was twice sentenced to forced labour camps, and twice was sentenced to prison. While she was detained at the Chongqing Women's Prison for the first time, Ms. Guo became paralysed as a result of torture. The prison claimed that Guo Chuanshu's physical condition was normal when she got up on August 9th. At 12:15 p.m., she took some medicine. Only 80 minutes elapsed from the time she first vomited until she died.

On August 13th, 2009, the Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group (FGHRWG), submitted the cases of Mr. Liu Yalin and Ms. Wei Xiuhua to the United Nations Human Rights monitoring arms. The severity of the persecution these two people suffered in China called for urgency. On April 17th, 2009, Ms. Wei Xiuhua was arrested by police. While in detention, the police poured hot water over Ms. Wei's head, kicked the left side of her chest, smashed her right ear with a bottle filled with water, causing hearing loss in her right ear. She is unable to walk on her own and has heart failure.

Fangzheng County police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zhige from Yilan County and detained him. They savagely beat him and brutally force-fed him, which resulted in blindness in his left eye. The court later slapped him with a three-year sentence and sent him to the Hulan Prison. He was forced to stand from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. daily for ten days. Guards incited inmates to violently beat him.

Ms. Chen Jingyu is a Falun Gong practitioner who suffered gross mistreatment in the local police station, detention centre and labour camp. She details her plight, as follows:"As soon as I arrived at the labour camp, the guards attempted to "reform" me. I knew deep in my heart that there was nothing wrong for me to practise Falun Gong, so I firmly refused to listen to them. They then found several "helpers" who were sent in by 610 Office agents. They forced me to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. One "helper" talked to me day and night, trying to get me to practise other beliefs. These guards and "helpers" ordered practitioners to write "four statements to denounce Falun Gong". Everything they used were deceptions and intimidations, which they didn't dare to reveal to the public.

Mr. Chen Fu, a teacher at the South West Normal University in Chongqing Municipality, was imprisoned for practising Falun Gong. His right leg was fractured as a result of being subjected to the Tiger Bench torture and the prison administration wouldn't let Mr. Chen's family visit him. On May 13th, 2008, he was transferred to the Seventeenth Supervision Area of Chongqing Yongchuan Prison and subjected to further abuse. The family is deeply worried. Mr. Chen has been repeatedly persecuted for many years, and was subjected to forced labour for two years from 1999 to 2001.

On March 10th, 2005, several police arrested Mr. Li Min, 51, while he was at work. He was later sent to Daqing Prison. Because Mr. Li refused to cooperate with the persecutors and often told the police that Falun Gong is good, he was frequently subjected to beating by prison guards, which caused severe internal injuries. He became extremely weak, showing stroke symptoms and was bedridden for a long time. The prison refused to release him. Instead, they starved Mr. Li under the pretence that he "needed to be punished for violating prison rules by refusing to wear a prison uniform." In mid May 2009, Mr. Li was transferred to Daqing Hospital, still wearing heavy shackles even though he had no energy to move on his own. He died on May 23rd, 2009.

It was said that around 5 a.m. on July 30th, officers from the Domestic Security Division took Xu Yiwen to the Baishan Forced Labour Camp. So far, this report has not been verified. As Xu Yiwen's parents, Xu Dongcheng and Wang Shu'er, are Falun Gong practitioners, the high school she attended expelled her. Previously, on April 16th, 2009, policemen broke into the home of Wang Shu'er's mother. They again arrested Xu Dongcheng, Wang Shu'er and their daughter, Xu Yiwen, who were taking care of their ill grandmother. They confiscated a computer and other items. They detained the family of three in the Linjiang Detention Centre. Xu Yiwen was detained for fifteen days.

On August 4th, the Junshan District Court in Yueyang City held a court session to try Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Qunlan. During the session, the police harassed Ms. Zhao's two lawyers, threatened and arrested practitioners who came to watch the trial, and shocked Ms. Zhao with an electric baton after the trial. The two lawyers pleaded not guilty for Ms. Zhao, and praised Falun Gong practitioners as true heroes.

On July 21st, 2009, Mr. Gu Huaibing was arrested by officers from the Tiaosanta Police Station. On August 5th, Mr. Li Jinglin and Mr. Lan Zhixue, two attorneys representing Mr. Gu, requested to meet with their client according to the law but were rejected by the chief of the Wuhou District Domestic Security Division, Chengdu City. Both attorneys have filed complaints with the Chengdu City Procuratorate and other relevant authorities against the unlawful actions of the Chengdu City Detention Centre, the Legislative Affairs Section of the Public Security Department, Wuhou Branch and the chief of the Wuhou District Domestic Security Division.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gu Huaibing was arrested at his job by officers from the Tiaosanta Police Station on the evening of July 21st, 2009, and he was detained on criminal charges the next day. On August 5th-6th, his lawyer requested a meeting with him but was turned down by the team leader of the National Security Team in Wuhou. On August 13th, two attorneys, Lan zhixue and Li Jinglin, brought suit against the Procuratorate of Chendu City and the relevant departments. The team leader of the National Security Team of Wuhou violated the law by denying the requested meeting between the lawyers and Mr. Gu, hindering the attorneys and depriving the attorney's right to see their client.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Xinguang, who is in his fifties, was the former president of Nanyang Construction Group. Mr. Li was on a business trip to Beijing on the morning of June 23rd, 2009, and when he used his personal identification card to purchase an airline ticket, the airline identified him as a Falun Gong practitioner, and he was then detained. On June 26th, he was sent back to a local police station by the Wolong Police Station in Nanyang. His home was ransacked by the police, and he is now being detained at Nanyang First Detention Centre

On October 27th, 2007 police officers from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province broke into 66-year-old Ms. Lv Guiru's home and attempted to force her to write a guarantee letter to give up Falun Gong by threatening to put her into a jail and to implicate her relatives. However, Ms. Lv refused them. Afterwards, Ms. Lv was forced to leave home. Since then, for almost two years officials from the Donggangxilu Police Station have continually sent workers from the Tianshui Road Community and some people to monitor her home and bang on her door.

Ms. Cao Rui was a high school student. School officials dismissed her in December 2007 for refusing to sign her name on an anti-Falun Gong campaign document. With help from her relatives and friends, she eventually graduated from another school. In November 2000 Cao Rui and her mum went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested. Schoolteachers and police worked together to "reform" her, forcing her to listen to slanderous propaganda. They also made her write a promise to give up Falun Gong; otherwise, they would intimidate and threaten her to write a letter to her mum in a labour camp, asking her to stop practising Falun Gong.

Mr. Tian Haitao, 46, was arrested by police officers that were monitoring him when he visited the home of a fellow practitioner on February 12th, 2009. The police confiscated all his personal belongings and over 1,500 yuan in cash. One of the officers hit him several times during the arrest. He was then taken to Jiamusi Detention Centre in the evening. Mr. Tian went on a hunger strike to protest the mistreatment. The guard ordered 8 to 9 prisoners to force him down, pry his mouth open, and insert a tube to force feed him salty liquid food. He was also injected with unknown drugs. Later his whole body would hurt.

On August 8th, 2009, several dozen police officers smashed a window and threw tear gas into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Yu's home, with no regard for the fact that Mr. Zhang's elderly, sick parents and his teenage daughter were inside. Military police then went into Mr. Zhang's home through the broken window. Because the police had broken the lock on Mr. Zhang's door, it could not be opened, so the police used a firefighter's ax to break down the door and took the family of five away. Mr. Zhang's family was arrested because he and his wife practise Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Mr. Zhang and his wife were detained in the Manchuri City Detention Centre.

During the past ten years, Mr. Feng Lianhua has repeatedly suffered persecution at the hands of the Jianxi District 610 Office because he persists in practising Falun Gong. Mr. Feng was arrested, brainwashed, harassed, and had money extorted from him many times. His wife could not endure the long-term harassment and intimidation. She died in March 2003. In Luoyang Detention Centre Mr. Feng was forced to perform hard labour from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day during his month-long detention. In 2002 and 2007, everyone at his company got a merit raise except Mr. Feng. From July 1999 to the present, every year he was entitled to receive a bonus for Teacher's Day, an end of the year bonus, and labour compensation. But he never received a penny of these bonuses.

Police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Guihong and sent her to the Lannigou Brainwashing Centre. It happened as she informed people about the persecution of Falun Gong and dispelled the state propaganda attacking the practice at her own store on July 9th, 2009. She has still not been released. Ms. Zhao's family knows about the cruelty of the Chinese Communist Party. They have suffered from enormous mental pressure. Ms. Zhao's father has been sick and hospitalized, and other family members have also been impacted to varying degrees.

Because Mr. Peng Guangrong never gave up his faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, he was arrested and detained either in a detention centre or drug rehabilitation centre from 1999 to 2003 three times. He was forced to sort through pig hair as a part of his punishment. The guards assaulted him with spiked clubs, shocked him with electric batons, and handcuffed and shackled him. The guards also ordered the prisoners to strike him repeatedly in the chest and spine. Mr. Peng passed away in November, 2003, as a result of the persecution that he had suffered.

On July 17th, 2009 Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Shiming, his elder sister Ms. Wang Min, and their mother were arrested by police from the Tianjin Street Police Station of Zhongshan District. Mr. Wang and Ms. Wang are being held in the Dalian Detention Centre. Their mother was released two days later since their 90-year-old grandmother was left at home alone without anyone to take care of her. This is the seventh time Mr. Wang has been arrested, and the fourth time that Ms. Wang has been arrested.

On March 9th, 2009, practitioner Ms. He Yana was arrested by the police when she was reported by an informant while visiting friends in the Hexi district. Afterwards, she was jailed in the Tianjin City Drug Rehabilitation Centre and is still being held there. Her family did not have money to pay the "fine." As a result, the police would not register her daughter as a resident, which in turn made her unable to go to school. In the past five months, Ms. He and her family have suffered a great deal. Her mother suffered from throat cancer, and was unable to speak after the operation. She became inconsolable whenever she thought of her daughter who was being persecuted.

Mr. Li Jianqian and Ms. Li Xiaoyun are husband and wife in Xiangfen County, Shanxi Province. Mr. Li was a public servant, and Ms. Li was a school teacher. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, Mr. Li was sentenced to seven years in prison, and Ms. Li was forced to leave home and go from place to place. The last time they saw their son was four years ago, when he was three years old. Ms. Li said in a statement: "In the past several years, my family's phone and mobile phones have been tapped and they are constantly being monitored. My family members and my supervisors at work were in trouble because of me. They have suffered tremendous economic loss and mental pressure"

Mr. Pang previously traded grain, and mixed sand in with his grain to increase his profits. He was thus sentenced to more than a dozen years of imprisonment. During his term in Gongzhuling Prison, he learned Falun Gong and enlightened to how a person should live and became determined to become a good person. However, guards inhumanly tortured him in order to force him give up the practice. He was transferred to the Siping Prison, locked in a small cell with no sunlight or bedding, for 13 months. He had endured unthinkable torture. On June 11th, 2009, guards called his family, said he was dying, and was being bailed out on medical parole. On June 13th, Mr. Pang died in the prison hospital.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guo Zhengpei was subjected to torture on many occasions after the persecution began in July 1999. Mr. Guo was sentenced to three-years in prison and was fired from his public position. There, guards forced him to move bricks from a hot brick kiln without protection. His hands were burned and covered with blood blisters. A guard once took Mr. Guo to an empty room and then ordered five or six prisoners to beat him. In 2004, Mr. Guo was sentenced to one-year of forced labour. Guards deprived him of sleep, beat him, kicked him as soon as he closed his eyes, and forced him to stand motionless under the hot sun for many hours. He finally died on April 25th, 2009.

Ms. Xu began cultivating Falun Gong in 2003, and her severe heart disease was gone soon after. Because she persisted in distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong, the police arrested her in September 2006 from her home and sent her to forced labour for one year. Her heart disease recurred during detention, and Ms. Xu died on the early morning of July 25th, 2009.

On July 28th, 2009, the Yuanbao District Court of Dandong City, Liaoning Province convened a session to try Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiangju. Presiding Judge Wang and criminal court Presiding Judge Ma Shuhe repeatedly told the defence lawyer not to actively defend Ms. Wang Xiangju and not to enter an innocent plea. They threatened a harsher sentence if the lawyer did not comply. Ma Shuhe, the criminal court presiding judge of Yuanbao District Court of Dandong City said, "We will interrupt if the lawyer tries to defend his client. After three such instances, the lawyer will be expelled from the courtroom."

In August 2004, more than one dozen officers arrested Mr. He at his home and confiscated his two computers along with CDs exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. His wife was working the night shift, and their ten year old daughter was left alone at home. The police detained Mr. He in the Youjiang District Detention Centre. At the beginning of 2005, the Youjinag District Court sentenced him to eight years in prison. At the beginning of April 2009, Mr. He died in Litang Prison. A source said his death was very tragic. His wife went to his funeral at the prison and was severely threatened. When she returned home, she did not dare to live in her home or speak about her husband's death. She keeps silent, and Mr. He's parents still do not know about his death.

On July 5th, 2009, Ms. Yang Guanghui, age 37, was arrested in front of the Jilin City Railway Station by officials from the Zhanqian Police Station in Jilin City. She is currently held at the Jilin City Detention Centre. Ms. Yang Guanghui's relatives, including her 10-year-old daughter, are doing everything they can, trying their best to save her, and looking forward to her return soon. Her relatives went to the Zhanqian Police Station to visit her and to ask for her release; however, they were not only refused, but they were threatened by the officials there.

Ms. Li Yuqin recounted in this article the torture she suffered at Dabei Prison, Liaoning Province, beginning with describing the injuries she suffered: "My buttocks were covered with wounds. Some were still bleeding while others festered. All I had was toilet paper to cover the wounds, which then stuck to them. Despite being barely able to sit, I was forced to sit on a small stool, one of the many tortures used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, for fourteen to fifteen hours daily. After twenty days, my wounds changed from festering to bleeding again. When I went to the toilet, blood dripped all over the floor. The guards said that after I renounced Falun Gong their 'task' would be accomplished and only then would I be no longer tortured."
