Ms. Gu Li and practitioner Ms. Qiu Shuping explained to people how they benefited from the practice of Falun Gong and exposed the facts about the persecution. They were arrested on the afternoon of March 20th, 2008 by police and three security officers. The two practitioners were taken to the police department and then to a detention centre. Numerous police officers ransacked their homes.

On August 8th, 2007, police arrested Mr. Qirimailatu, 72, for the third time while he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. They had him sentenced to forced labour again, but the camp refused to admit him due to his advanced age and the physical tests that he failed, so he was detained in Inner-Mongolia Detention Centre. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution on December 6th, 2007. He died after detention centre administrators rushed him to the prison hospital on January 5th, 2008. Information revealed he was as thin as a skeleton and was unable to speak during the time he was detained.

In the first quarter of 2008, police in Daqing City, Heilongiang Province have been collaborating with local thugs, gangsters, and vagrants to monitor, harass, and arrest Falun Gong practitioners. Methods include phone tapping, following, illegal opening of personal mail, break-ins, and other illegal means. Falun Gong practitioner Lu Jigui was arrested the first time on February 1st, 2008. In the detention centre Mr. Lu went on a hunger strike protesting the persecution. He was violently force-fed and tortured several times, causing a drastic deterioration of his health. Lu Jigui was released on February 11th, 2008 and arrested again on February 26th. After his first arrest, Daqing City police began monitoring and investigating Lu Jigui, his family members and visitors, around the clock.

I am the daughter of Falun Gong practitioner Liu Yanchen. Unfortunately, I can no longer see my dear mother, since she was arrested and repeatedly beaten by Communist Party officials because she practised Falun Gong. After her detainment, she could not do the Falun Gong exercises for a long time, and eventually she died from a stroke. Because my father suffered tremendous mental pressure and had several breakdowns my aunt had to adopt me.

Ms. Ye Zhanfen was a Falun Gong practitioner in her 60s. In November 2000, she was taken into custody by the Linqiong Town Police Station for copying Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. In the station, four to five police officers beat her cruelly, kicking her lower abdomen, electric-baton-shocking her head, and causing her to pass out due to an extreme headache. They tortured her for nine hours, resulting in her becoming incontinent and fracturing her left wrist. There was blood in her stool the entire time she was detained. On June 5th, 2001, she was sentenced to five years in prison. She was released in 2005, but local 610 Office agents still harassed her and she could not live in peace. She died after enduring the persecution for over eight years.

Ms. Chen Jinfen, 68, was a Falun Gong practitioner living in Hebei Province. On February 4th, 2008, she was taken into custody by the Heru Township Police Station. The police ransacked her home and detained her in Changli County Detention Centre. On February 13th, 2008, she felt pain in her leg and discomfort in her chest, and was very weak. Thus, she was released. However, the weakness and aches continued. She died on March 24th, 2008.

Tang Guofang, head of the education department in Jiangsu Province, has been the main perpetrator in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners for the past eight years. Tang in Judong Women's Forced Labour Camp, has been viciously torturing practitioners both mentally and physically. As a result of being severely beaten by the guards, Ms. Zhu Ruifeng's neck was forced into her chest cavity. She had to be taken to a hospital in Zhenjiang City where her neck had to be straightened. Ms. Wu Shunzhen's lower body was burned with mosquito incense and her head was pushed into a urine bucket by a guard. Ms. Deng Jinmei and Ms. Zhu Jinmei were brutally beaten in prison. After they were released, they still suffered extreme pain from internal injuries.

On March 15th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Minli was arrested and tortured. She was later taken to the Jilin City Detention Centre, where she was subjected to additional torture. Her family went there on many occasions to request her release, but the guards told them that she was in good health. Shortly before her death, after returning from her last interrogation session, Ms. Wang suffered from incontinence. Every day, she would lie on the floor of the ward, where she was given injections. At noon on June, 19th, 2007, Ms. Wang was tortured to unconsciousness with electric batons. There was a water shortage at the detention centre, but the guards used their entire supply - thirteen basins in all - to pour over Ms. Wang, yet they were unable to revive her. On June 19th, 2007, however, her family was notified that Ms. Wang had passed away.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guan Wenjiang was tortured to death on August 5th, 2002 at the Shenyang No.2 Prison. He had been sentenced to 13 years in prison for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. His family found his ears were deformed due to the beatings he sustained. He was only 33 years old. When Mr. Guan died, the 200 yuan in cash that he had in his pocket disappeared.

According to incomplete statistics, within just over a year after Liu Zhonghui became the Party Secretary of Shouguang City in 2007, over 100 practitioners have been arrested, beaten, fined, and their homes ransacked. Sixteen practitioners were sent to forced labour camps. Many families were torn apart. This extent of cruelty in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners is very rare, and it has been the cruellest in Shouguang City for several years. The methods of torture that the police use include: shocking practitioners' sensitive body parts with electric batons; hitting them on their hands, legs, and back with rubber batons and wooden sticks; burning their fingers and arms with lighters; kicking and stomping on their faces with leather shoes.

On August 1st, 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Cao Jianshan went to a shopping centre in Huizhou City to hand out leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He was arrested by security guards and taken to Qiaoxi Police Station for interrogation. That same night, 20 police officers went to Mr. Cao's home. Ms. Cao, who was already in bed, was terrified by the police intruding into her home. She suffered a heart attack when police officers dragged her from her room. Following this incident, Mr. Cao was detained at Huicheng District Gutangao Detention Centre for 31 days. His family were not allowed to visit him until February 2008.

Xie Yuntong, a 45-year-old male and chief of the Politics and Security Section of the Police Department in Baoqing Country, Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, has been actively involved in extorting huge sums of money from Falun Gong practitioners since he took office. He has also been actively persecuting practitioners. On September 6th, 2006, practitioner couple Mr. Zhang Zhaohua and Ms. Yuan Meirong, were arrested by police and taken to the detention centre. Mr. Zhang was detained for nearly seven weeks. A prison guard severely beat him with a plastic tube about one inch in diameter. Inmates forcibly bathed him with cold water. He had 15,000 yuan extorted from him before he was released. Ms. Yuan was detained for six days and had 1300 yuan extorted from her before she was released.

Practitioner Baosiqin Gaowa was imprisoned twice at the labour camp and was put in the brainwashing centre three times. The first time, she was put into the brainwashing centre for more than 40 days. A man named Guan beat her so severely that she suffered many serious injuries. A one-inch long scar below her mouth is still visible now. The second time she was again put into the brainwashing centre for more than 40 days. The third time, she was put in the centre for more than three days. She was forbidden to sleep for two days straight and was forced to stand the whole time. As a result, her feet became severely swollen.

In 2003, several Falun Gong practitioners in Chaoyang City started a company named the Chaoyang City Tianzheng Detergent Company. From the very beginning, various departments in the company hired Falun Gong practitioners who were knowledgeable in different fields. Most of these practitioners had lost their jobs due to the persecution. In the three years after the company started, revenue increased each year. The managers of the company are a couple, Mr. Li Wensheng and Ms. Wu Jinping. On February 24th, 2008, Public Security Bureau officials forcibly entered Mr. Li's home, ransacked the house, took 10,000-plus yuan in cash and a bankbook with savings of over 20,000 yuan. The police then took Mr. and Mrs. Li into custody. Other practitioner employees were also arrested and the company was forced to close down.

On March 11th, 2008, police from the Tingzhen Police Station and Laishui County 610 Office arrested four Falun Gong practitioners in Gao Village and Dachitu Village. The police also ransacked their homes. Police went to practitioner Ms. Chang Zhengying's home, smashed the door and pried open the lock. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong, Chang Zhenying's home has been ransacked about 20 times.

On around January 5th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bai Heguo was tortured to death at the Nan'guanling Prison. It was disclosed that not only was there a bump on Mr. Bai's head, but there was also a cut on his tongue and around his mouth. His leg had been kicked until it was broken, and his testicles had been crushed. He was emaciated. It would appear that Mr. Bai Heguang was beaten to death. However, Nan'guanling Prison agents fabricated "proof" that Mr. Bai had committed suicide.

Since 57-year-old Ms. Hu Huoying suddenly went missing while in police custody on February 29th, 2008, her daughter has been unable to discover her whereabouts. Ms. Hu's daughter is extremely worried about her situation. On July 10th, 2007, several agents from the Duchang County Police Department attempted to break into Ms. Hu's home to conduct a search. Ms. Hu blocked the door and stopped them by saying, "You threatened my husband. He died because of your evil deeds. He was just buried yesterday, and within less than a day you come again to harass and persecute me."

Ms. Cui Yaning, a Falun Gong practitioner, had already been arrested and in a forced labour camp twice before. In the forced labour camp she was subjected to torture at the hands of the guards during her five years' incarceration. On February 25th, 2008, she was arrested for the third time. Jinzhou City police officers were responsible for the arrest, although police issued the arrest order. Ms. Cui is now being held in the city No. 1 Detention Centre. She will be sentenced.

At 5 p.m. on March 12th, 2008, Mr. Wang Deqian, a folk artist from Hebei Province, was arrested again by police officers from the Yi County Police Department and the Longmen Township Police Station in Laishui County. The police ransacked his home, leaving it a mess. Some art and craft materials were confiscated. Mr. Wang Deqian was sent to the Yi County Detention Centre. He has started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Mr. Wang's oldest daughter went to visit him by bus, but the guards would not let her see her father.

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Dafa in July 1999, the Xu family has been targeted repeatedly. The CCP murdered the family's oldest son, and now, with the loss of the grandson, more pain has been inflicted on the family. On March 12th, 2008, 13-year-old Xu Dingguo passed away after many days of thinking of his parents, who were detained. He didn't even have a final opportunity to see his parents before he died. Guizhou Women's Labour Camp authorities did not allow his mother, Ms. Chen Yumei, to see her son before he died, nor did the Guiyang public security police, the procurator of the Yunyan District, the Baihua Mountain Detention Centre allow his father, Xu Qihua, to see him one last time before he was buried.

On February 22nd, 2008, the Xigang District Court in Dalian City sentenced Mr. Yin Libin to three years in prison. Mr. Yin and his family appealed the ruling. This is the second time the Court has held a trial against Mr. Yin. During the first trial, his family was not notified nor was he allowed to hire a lawyer. Mr. Yin wrote two letters two years ago telling his friends how the Communist party had slandered Falun Gong, that the persecution is a mistake, and that Falun Gong cultivators are trying to be the good people by following "Truthfulness- Compassion- Forbearance." The two letters were "evidence" against him in the sentencing.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zhongliang was arrested by police in January 2008. He was detained in Zhuanghe Detention Centre, where he was beaten by the guards. In February, Mr. Wang Zhongliang went on a hunger strike in Zhuanghe Detention Centre. He asked for paper and a pencil to write a letter so that he could document his suffering. The detention centre chief agreed, but the guard refused to give Mr. Wang any writing materials. The next day, guard Wang Qingdi viciously kicked Mr. Wang in the head without warning, and then left. Later, Mr. Wang told officer Wang Qingdi that he felt dizzy and was having headaches. Wang Qingdi then dragged Mr. Wang out of the cell, and together with another guard they began to kick and stomp on his legs. The guards used force-feeding on him as a form of torture.

Since March 4th, 2008, seven practitioners have been arrested in Yueyang City. At around 3 p.m. on March 5th, Mr. Xie Zhongyi (from another province) was repairing a motorcycle when more than ten plain-clothed officers stormed into his home. They arrested him without following legal procedures and detained him in the Yueyang City First Detention Centre on March 8th.

At about 10 o'clock on the morning of March 3rd, 2008, a witness observed a black car arriving at the Wujiawa Detention Centre. Several police officers dragged Mr. Chen Baofeng, 43, out of the back seat. He was extremely weak, and his head drooped. Mr. Chen was without shoes and moaned constantly. According to an insider, he died at noon that day. His family knew that Mr. Chen had been very healthy before the arrest. The only explanation for his death within eight days of arrest was severe torture.

Mr. Lu Zhiyong, a practitioner around 40 years old, was a forestry policeman. He was sentenced to forced labour twice. His wife is imprisoned in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Sichuan Province. Mr. Lu refused to comply with the guards' unreasonable orders, so they tortured him. Head of the Sixth Division Su Xin directed several guards to shock him with electric batons until he fell unconscious. After he regained consciousness, the guards handcuffed him to a metal bed frame and kept shocking him. Mr. Lu was then put into a separate cell for "strict management," and his term at the forced labour camp was extended.

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Qian'an City rampantly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners before the 17th CCP People's Congress conference in 2007. The National Security Team arrested as many as 40 practitioners and their families and detained them at the police department, the detention centre and the brainwashing centre between September 28th, 2007, and October 25th, 2007. This number does not include those practitioners whose homes were ransacked. Many practitioners were shocked with electric batons until their bodies became scorched.

Ms. Li Xiumin, a practitioner, was tortured in a forced labour camp and developed several severe diseases. In March 2007, she was temporarily released for medical treatment. On May 2nd, she was taken away again. She is currently detained in the women's prison in Hebei Province. The prison claimed that she would not be allowed family visits for one month. Staff from Shangcheng Police Station, the No.2 Detention Station in Shijiazhuang, the court, and Hebei Province Women's Prison have been making excuses and/or lying to prevent her elderly parents from visiting her for the past year.

Ms. Yang Xianfeng, 53, was a Falun Gong practitioner who appealed against the persecution and was tortured repeatedly. In detention police subjected her to sleep deprivation, forced her to stand for long periods of time, slapped her repeatedly, injected chilli water into her eyes and mouth, stuffed lit cigarettes into her nose, and stomped on her after smothering her with a blanket. Ms. Yang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was brutally force-fed. She lost her life on on April 3rd, 2008.

Mr. Gu Qun was a Falun Gong practitioner from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. On the afternoon of March 16th, 2008, police arrested him while he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution, and detained him at the Yaojia Detention Centre. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and the guards responded by brutally force-feeding him. This left him severely injured. On April 8th, 2008, they sent him to the Dalian City Third People's Hospital for emergency rescue, but according to some sources, he was dead on arrival. His family was notified of his death on April 9th, 2008. Fewer than 23 days passed between his unlawful arrest and his death.

On February 3rd, 2008, officers from the Shuguang Police Station in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province arrested Ms. Wang Yuxian and Mr. Wang Xuqiu. Mr. Wang Xuqiu and Ms. Wang Yuxian were beaten and tortured at the Shuguang Police Station. An eyewitness said that, after repeated violent blows, Mr. Wang's face was bruised, swollen, distorted, and looked horrible. Ms. Wang developed symptoms of heart disease and gallstones due to abuse. She is in critical condition. They are being held at the Qiqihar City No. 1 Detention Centre.

On March 9th, 2007, Ms. Yang Guoying, a practitioner from Helong Township, was deceived into getting into a police vehicle at a local market. After arriving at the local police station, the police claimed that someone had reported her and beat her brutally. The police tried to coerce her into admitting to the fabricated allegations. When she refused to comply, the police took her to Donggang Detention Centre. In the detention centre, the police again tried to extract a false confession by force. Ms. Yang still refused. Later police presented her with a "repentance statement" for her to sign. She adamantly refused. One policeman took a sheet of blank paper, grabbed her hand, and took a hand print.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Qingguo was arrested in August 2000, when he went to visit detained practitioners. The police shackled one of his feet to rings on a wall, then brutally beat him. Several days later, they locked him in a room that was designated for torturing people. His hands were again cuffed and his feet were shackled to rings mounted on the wall. He was beaten for two days and then taken back to the detention centre. He was also shocked with an electric baton multiple times, and force-fed with concentrated salt water or chilli power water. After returning home, police often went to Mr. Zhao's home to harass him. He could not live a normal life, and often moved to avoid being arrested. He never recovered from his weakened condition. He appeared to have contracted tuberculosis and died on April 6th, 2008, at the young age of 35.

Ms. Li Xiaojiang lived in a village in Hebei Province. Early in March 2004, two villagers went to harass Ms. Li at her home and saw a "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" banner hanging on her wall. They forced Ms. Li to take the banner down and spoke to her in a vicious manner. Ms. Li became very frightened. The next day she passed out on her porch. Her husband carried her inside and then took her to the hospital. The doctor found that she had suffered an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), and that there was nothing that could be done to help her. Ms. Li died on the afternoon of March 25th, 2008.

On February 20th, 2008, Mr. Bai Shaohua (37 years old) and Mr. Yang Hui were driving when they were stopped by the Beijing Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police using the excuse of "a security check" for the Beijing Olympic Games. The two were subsequently taken to the Huairou District Detention Centre. Because the police discovered Falun Gong materials such as CDs exposing the persecution in the vehicle, they interrogated Mr. Bai using torture, attempting to force him to reveal the source of the materials. Mr. Bai refused to betray fellow practitioners and did not cooperate. From February 20th to 25th, 2008, he was hung up by handcuffs and beaten mercilessly by Beijing police and prison guards.

I was sentenced to a Shandong Province Forced Labour Camp. Under orders from guards I participated in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Certain other inmates and I used different ways to persecute the practitioners, including having them face a wall for a long time, beating and kicking them, as well as beating them with batons. For doing this, guard Sun Fengjun promised to reduce our terms. So whatever they ordered us to do, we did it. If we did not follow their orders, they would beat us and extend our terms. All the persecution that happened to the Falun Gong practitioners was according to orders from the division leaders. We know that Falun Gong practitioners are good people.

On December 1st, 2001, Mou Pingjun, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Committee Secretary from Jia Village, along with others, arrested practitioner Ms. Tai Yurong, 36, from Baoding City in Hebei Province at her home. They forced her to attend a brainwashing session. Within seven days, she was tortured to death. Before the cremation, Ms. Tai's sister and sister-in-law came to look at her body. They saw that Ms. Tai had blood in her mouth, her hands appeared purple and wide open. There were bruises on her arm and her arms were swollen to the size of her legs. Her right eye appeared purple as well, both eye sockets had sunken in, and it appeared as if her internal organs were no longer there. At that time, Ms. Tai's oldest daughter was 16 years old and her younger daughter was 13 years old.

On October 25th, 2007, guard Wang Zhiming complained that practitioner Gu Daping went to wash his hands without reporting, so he ordered criminal inmates to torture Mr. Gu. Mr. Gu's legs were tied with ropes so he could not bend them. He was forced to sit on the floor with both of his arms stretched by two people on each side. Then several of them pressed hard on Mr. Gu's back so his chest touched his leg. They didn't stop until they heard his bones crack. Mr. Gu's screams were heard all over the building. Then Wang Zhiming brought in the electric baton to shock Mr. Gu until the battery ran out. A rubber club was then brought in and they pushed Mr. Gu to the floor and beat him dozens of times. Mr. Gu could not sleep at night due to excruciating pain in his back.

Falun Gong practitioner Wang Hongfa, 45, from Xishui County, Guizhou Province is a painter. In early December 2007, police from the Xishui County National Security Team secretly arrested him. His whereabouts were unknown until recently. His wife tried many ways to find him. However, the police did not tell her where her husband was detained and his family members were very anxious.

At around 1:30 a.m. on March 23rd, 2008, several police officers rushed into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Niu Guifang. The police arrested her, along with her husband and her niece. They ransacked the house and found no Falun Gong materials. At the same time, practitioner Ms. Ren Xiuqin was also arrested. With the approach of the Olympic Games, the Chinese Communist Party has sent out secret orders to closely monitor Falun Gong practitioners from March to September. Many practitioners have been arrested in various provinces. The police were given permission to beat Falun Gong practitioners and petitioners.

On December 21st, 2007, Mr. Xiong Yuchen died at the age of 77. His beloved daughter, Suyan, was a practitioner. On October 16th, 2007, Suyan and an elderly practitioner explained the goodness of Falun Gong and the truth about the persecution to people in a marketplace in a small town. Consequently, she was arrested by police. Suyan was held at the Fengrun Detention Centre for a month and was then transferred to the Kaiping Forced Labour Camp to serve a one-year sentence. Witnessing his daughter's repeated persecution, Mr. Xiong became very angry at the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He missed his daughter very much. Two months after his daughter's arrest, Mr. Xiong died in great sorrow. He had not been able to see his beloved daughter before his death.

Mr. Zhao Yancheng is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Weifang City, Shandong Province. He and his family have been persecuted repeatedly by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Mr. Zhao was sent to a forced labour camp and was only released after being tortured to the brink of death. Recently, he was forced into becoming homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home. His daughter was arrested and his son suffered a mental breakdown due to the persecution.

On February 17th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Zhang Yunqin, and her twelve-year-old son were forcibly taken away from their home by several policemen. The officers took away her computer and many other items. Ms. Zhang Yunqin's son was released the following day, whereas she was detained in the Jincheng City Detention Centre. It was said that because Ms. Zhang Yunqin wrote and posted information exposing the persecution, the police arrested her.

Since the beginning of 2008, the Chinese Communist Party has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in the name of the Olympic Games. There have appeared many cases of practitioners being either arrested or persecuted to death. Recently, several practitioners from Hanting District, Weifang City, Shangdong Province were arrested and fined by the Public Security Bureau's National Security Team. On March 22nd, Ms. Song Xiulan, a practitioner, was arrested at home by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officers. Her property, worth a total of around 20,000 yuan, was also confiscated. This was her second arrest; she was previously arrested and fined 10,000 yuan on July 2nd, 2006.

Mr. Gong Zhaotao, in his 50s, was a farmer who lived in Shandong Province. He was arrested in October 2007 while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong and was sentenced to one year of forced labour. He was held in the notorious Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. At the end of March 2008, camp officials notified his family that he had died. The details are yet to be investigated. The camp officials are trying to cover up the crime, telling people that Mr. Gong died of a heart attack. His body has not been cremated, and only his 18-year-old son and mentally ill wife are allowed to see his body.

While he was in Tieling Forced Labour Camp, Mr. Xin Shuren and other practitioners refused to wear prison uniforms and carried out a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Guard Miao Zhanpu led dozens of prisoners to beat Mr. Xin and the other three. Miao provoked these no-goods, saying, "If they do not eat, you guys will not eat" in order to make the prisoners hate Falun Gong practitioners and torture them more brutally. At that time, Du Dalin was the most severely beaten. He was almost blinded and almost made deaf. Liu Wenban's face and back were injured. The guards and the prisoners handcuffed them behind their backs and used electronic batons to hit their bodies, mouths, and teeth. Their wrists were handcuffed and bleeding. Wang Dongliang was dragged to the front door and stripped naked. They used an electric baton and their fists to brutally beat him. His ribs were broken.

There is a special section in Tianshui Prison, whose specific assignment is the torture and "transformation" of Falun Gong practitioners. This section is under the jurisdiction of the Education Department of the Prison Bureau of Gansu Province. Pan Xinsheng is the department head, and the primary person responsible for these activities. After practitioner Liu Zhirong was tortured to death there, and with the increasing pressure from the outside world, the guards themselves have stopped routinely beating the practitioners. Instead, the guards have now turned to using sleep deprivation as a form of torture, and are forcing practitioners to watch the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brainwashing videos. The guards deceive the practitioners' families into helping them with the persecution, and put pressure on the practitioners to cooperate and "transform."

Practitioners who have been tortured to death include Mr. Yang Lichuang (In 2006, steadfast in his belief in Falun Gong, he was subjected to brutal interrogation through torture by the Huining Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs in collusion with the Public Security Police. He was then beaten to death and his body was thrown into a water cellar. They claimed that he "committed suicide for fear of punishment for his crimes"). Mr. Wang Guiming, a 38-year-old practitioner, was sent to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp on February 13th, 2008, by police. On February 29th, he died as a result of brutal torture in the labour camp. The camp administrators claimed that the cause of his death was him slamming into the heater very hard to try to commit suicide. According to a reliable source, while Wang Guiming was on a hunger strike, he was tortured with force-feeding. He died after being shocked with many electric batons.

At 9:25 a.m on February 22nd, 2008, Ms. Wang Yuqing was arrested at home by agents from the 610 Office and sentenced to forced labour. Recently, Ms. Wang was taken to the Guangdong Province Armed Police Hospital and there is no further information. Her family became aware that officers at Haizhu District Detention Centre planned to send Ms. Wang to the labour camp, however, because Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike for many days and she was very weak. She was rejected by the labour camp and returned to the Haizhu District Detention Centre. When her family members applied for medical parole, it was rejected by the officers from detention centre. They did not release Ms. Wang and did not allow her family to visit her.

60-year-old Ms. Zhang Jinlan was a Falun Gong practitioner from Shaanxi Province. After the Jiang Zemin [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, she was detained several times. The persecutors placed her in a mental hospital and injected her with unknown substances. As a result, Ms. Zhang became completely paralysed, and the lower part of her body was severely infected. While she was in such terrible condition, her home and phone were monitored. Unable to get any help from outside, Ms. Zhang Jinlan died on February 1st, 2008.
