After Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Jianguo of Jilin City, Jilin Province died in police custody, the local police continued to harass his family members. As a result, Mr. Wang's father and wife have had to leave their home.

On April 10th, 2006, Mr. Wang Jianguo passed away while detained at Jilin City Detention Centre in Jilin Province. His body was then taken to a funeral home. The police planned to cremate his body, but they haven't been able to get an approval from family members. At that time, Mr. Wang's wife, Ms. Zhao Qiumei, was imprisoned at a forced labour camp. After she was released, she was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution and arrest. The police then went to harass her mother who is in her late sixties.

Mr. Wang's family members still don't know the real cause of his death. The guards at Jilin City Detention Centre refuse to provide a clear explanation.

After his death, Mr. Wang's parents set up a "mourning hall" for him, but it was forcibly taken down by the police from Hadawan Police Station in Changyi District, Jilin City and the Jilin City Police Department. The police also tricked Mr. Wang's family members into attending a so-called "funeral service" for him. Upon arriving at the event, they saw reporters from television and radio stations, Jilin City officials, the police and guards from the detention centre and realised it wasn't a funeral service. The "host" then made a speech and stated that, "Mr. Wang Jianguo committed suicide." Mr. Wang's family became upset and criticised the police. The "service" was then ended.

The police later tried to trick Mr. Wang's father into going to the police station to discuss what to do with Mr. Wang's body by saying many nice words and promising to give him money. To avoid further harassment, Mr. Wang's father left home.

October 18, 2009 was the last day of the Frankfurt Book Exhibition. It was still crowded and lively, inside as well as outside the exhibition hall. Falun Gong practitioners held an information booth in the open-air exhibition area. They introduced the visitors to Zhuan Falun and the main teachings of Falun Gong, and demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises.

The peaceful, melodious exercise music and gentle exercise demonstration provided a strong contrast to the noisy surroundings. Its unique presence in the open-air exhibition area attracted the attention of many visitors. Many took photos.

Practitioners informed people that in 1996, Zhuan Falun was the most popular book in China. Since 1999, the book has been banned in that country by the Chinese Communist regime. Many visitors to the exhibition visited the Falun Gong booth to learn the facts, and some bought the book. "I support you. You are doing well. Good luck," were typical of well-wishes practitioners heard during the day.

When they saw the Falun Gong information display, several visitors from Mainland China were surprised. Falun Gong has been brutally persecuted in Mainland China for ten years. The Chinese Communist regime has used its influence to slander, discredit, and smear Falun Gong. Many Chinese people have been deceived by the Chinese Communist regime's lies. They couldn't have imagined that Falun Gong could be so popular outside of China or that Falun Gong could have an information booth at such a large scale book exhibition, where practitioners could freely distribute leaflets and tell people about Falun Gong.

When practitioners approached these Chinese people and clarified the truth to them, some of them understood and announced then and there that they wanted to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party, its Youth League and the Young Pioneers. Some of them even took photos as a memento.

The man in the above photo threatened Falun Gong practitioners, telling them not to distribute leaflets. The practitioners reminded him that this was Germany, which has freedom of expression and where it is entirely legal to distribute such materials. This man also threatened to take photos of them. They stayed calm and told him not to use this tactic to get rewards from the Chinese regime, that it would be dirty money. This man slunk away and took photos of practitioners from a distance. When he saw practitioners taking photos of him, he quickly left and never appeared again.

Practitioners hope that those Chinese people who have been deceived by the Chinese Communist regime's lies can soon learn the truth. They also hope that people who work for the Chinese Communist regime and betray their consciences will stop doing bad things and choose a good future for themselves.

According to the Falun Dafa Information Centre, Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) is guided by the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It is a high level cultivation practice that can help cultivators return to their original, true selves. Since its public introduction by Mr Li Hongzhi in 1992, hundreds of millions people have benefited from practising Falun Gong. Falun Dafa has spread to over 110 nations and regions. Falun Gong has also received over a thousand awards from various countries.

According to the practitioners who applied for the information booth at the book exhibition, the organiser initially didn't approve their application. When practitioners provided the organiser with relevant materials, he quickly agreed and provided the admission tickets.

Ms. Li Chunlan is of Korean ethnicity. She was detained three times in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. As result of being tortured, she suffered a mental collapse and cannot take care of herself.

Ms. Li and her father Mr. Li Zhongbin, also a practitioner, were each sentenced to one year of forced labour in October 1999. Ms. Li was detained in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, where she was shocked with electric batons around her mouth by guards and was brutally beaten. Mr. Li Zhongbin was detained in the Tieling City Forced Labour Camp where he was forced to do hard labour including digging huge ditches and tearing down old houses.

In October 2002, Mr. Li was again arrested, and he was tortured until he was as thin as a skeleton. His front tooth was knocked out and two of his ribs were fractured. His stomach and intestines were injured which caused him to be incontinent, and both legs were injured. In April 2004, he was released due to his life being in danger. He is still not fully recovered from these tortures. Ms. Li Chunlan was also detained, and was released at the end of 2003.

One afternoon in October 2006, officer Zhao Baifeng entered Ms. Li's home from the back door. Ms. Li confronted him as to why he did not openly use the front door, and then Zhao left. Two days later Lan Wen, the Hongqi Police Station director, led seven to eight officers to storm into Ms. Li's home, and took $500-600 in cash, and arrested Ms. Li and her father. This was the third time both father and daughter were arrested.

Ms. Li and her father were both interrogated and tortured. The police shocked Ms. Li with electric batons for more than an hour and locked her in a metal cage. The next day, the police took both father and daughter to Kaiyuan City Detention Centre. Mr. Li Zhongbin found his daughter's face deformed, and her mouth was also very swollen. The police took her to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp after detaining her for 40 days in the Kaiyuan City Detention Centre.

Ms. Li was detained in the First Ward and Third Ward for 20 months. It cannot be determined what kinds of torture she endured, because she lost her normal ability to think and speak. Other practitioners who were once detained with her in the same ward said that her face had injuries.

At the end of July 2008, Ms. Li's family received her release notice, but when they rushed there to pick her up, the local police had picked her up to be closely monitored during the Olympics. When she finally returned home, her family found she could not take care of herself, and she was mentally ill.

Mr. Li Zhongbin was also tortured in the Kaiyuan City Detention Centre. Local officers Lan Wen and Zhao Baifeng tried to take Mr. Li's house by forcing him to sign his name, but Mr. Li refused. The Tieling City Labour Camp refused to accept Mr. Li due to his physical condition, so Mr. Li was released.

Mr. Li recently took his 90-year-old mother and his mentally ill daughter and fled their home to avoid further harassment. They live a difficult life.

On October 3rd, 2009, Mr. Wen Shixue suffered a brain haemorrhage as a result of torture he suffered in Lanzhou Prison (a.k.a. the Dashaping Prison). Mr. Wen suffered paralysis and is hospitalised in the Dashaping Forced Labour Hospital.

Mr. Wen's attempt to protect practitioner Mr. Yuan Jiang caught the police's attention.

In November 2003, the People's Court in the Chengguan District, Lanzhou City, sentenced Mr. Wen to an eight-year prison term for harbouring a suspect.

On September 30th, 2001, Lanzhou public security officers arrested Mr. Yuan in Dunhuang, Gansu. They took him to Baita Mountain in Lanzhou and tortured him for almost a month.

On October 26th, Mr. Yuan escaped and went to Mr. Yu Jinfang's daughter's home.

On November 9th, he died of the injuries he sustained from being tortured at Baita Mountain.

After Mr. Yuan passed away, the authorities launched a mass arrest of practitioners who had provided shelter for Mr. Yuan and helped him.

Mr. Wen and Mr. Yu were imprisoned at Lanzhou Prison and tortured.

In August 2005, the guards attempted to brainwash Mr. Wen for a month, locked him in a solitary confinement cell, put shackles and handcuffs on him, and chained his legs and hands together so he could not straighten his back. H ewas fed a steamed bun and a cup of water a day. He had to sit on the concrete floor. The guard kept bright lights on him around the clock to keep him awake. After he was released from solitary confinement, he was paralysed and could not open his eyes. His entire body was swollen. He did not fully recover until three months later.

In March 2007, Mr. Wen nullified a statement he had signed under pressure renouncing Falun Gong, so the guards locked him in a solitary confinement for another three months.

Mr. Yu was in Lanzhou Prison for five years. On November 13th, 2006, he was released. He was emaciated and the inside of his mouth was numb. He couldn't eat and often vomited. Mr. Yu said, "The first two months after I was released from prison, I vomited when I tried to eat and even when I did not eat." Mr. Yu vomited continuously and died on November 25th, 2006.

Ms. Zhu Yaohui is 57 years old. She was a government employee in Huaying City. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20th, 1999, she has been persecuted as many as ten times. She has been held in a detention centre three times, confined in the local police station three times, detained up in a brainwashing centre twice, and imprisoned for six and half years at the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp twice, where she was brutally tortured. The following is her personal account of the persecution she has suffered.

On July 22nd, 1999, officers from the local police station arrested me and did not release me until late at night. After that, they frequently came to harass and interrogate me without a warrant. My work unit also forced me to write self-criticism papers.

My daughter had just finished her college entrance exams. Even though her grades were very good, because I practised Falun Gong, the top ranking universities that she applied for did not admit her.

In October 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong. The police in Beijing detained me, and I was later transferred back home by the deputy head of the Huaying City National Security Team, Qu Binm and a few other policemen. After that, I was detained at the Guangan Detention Centre until March 21st, 2000.

On July 20th, 2000, some Communist thugs locked me up in a brainwashing centre for 20 days. However, only a few days after I returned home, my employer ordered me to show up at work, where I was arrested by the head of the National Security Team, Xu Yunhua, and police officer Guo Ya. An administrator in my workplace, Liu Jun, was also there. Practitioners Ms. Wang Xiaoqing, Ms. Xu Xiaolan, and I were arrested at the same time and imprisoned at the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp.

While at the labour camp, team leader Zhang Xiaofang once beat me with an electric baton because she said that I had spread Falun Gong's lectures. After that, she handcuffed me onto the water pipe in the toilet room. Quickly, my hands started to swell. They prohibited me from using the toilet. My hands were still cuffed even when I was eating. After they took off the handcuffs, they forced me and the other steadfast practitioners to sit in the outdoor field. It was winter, but we were forced to sit there from 6:00 a.m. until midnight. We were freezing and kept shivering. One evening around January 10th, 2001, the rain poured down on us. We were soaked with freezing rain. It was not until after we strongly protested together that we were released from this abuse.

On August 8th, 2001, I was transferred to Team 9. In early 2002, the head of Team 9, Cao Nian, and a guard, Lan Xiumin, took turns shocking me on my face and head with electric batons. My face was burned, but Lan Xiumin still did not stop hitting me.

In July 2002, I was detained in Team 8. Li Lin, the team head, forced us, a few steadfast practitioners, including Ms. Wang Huiying, Ms. Liu Zongli, Ms. Pen Renqiong, Ms. Tao Yuqin, and me, to stand in the outdoor field for 24 hours in freezing temperatures. We were deprived of sleep and use of the toilet. We were so tired that we could not keep our eyes open. Li Lin ordered some drug offenders to pry open our eyelids with matches, then poured cold water on us. My legs were swollen, oozing pus, and I was almost falling down. Then Li Lin made the drug offenders grab my hair to force me to stand. Bunches of my hair were pulled out, and my head was bleeding. They also prohibited us from showering or changing. As a result, our clothes were stuck to the infected wounds. After two months, I was totally disfigured. I was not able to see well, nor could I walk on my own.

On February 15th, 2003, Li Lin tried to force us to read the books that slandered Falun Gong, but we refused. Because of that, she stood in the hallway and ordered Chen Qi, a criminal inmate, and a few drug offenders to hold us down to the cement floor. Then they tied us up and hung us onto the head boards. They stuffed our mouths with rags, and blindfolded us. After that, once every two hours, they pried our mouths open with wooden sticks and poured tap water into our mouths. However, they prohibited us from using the toilet. We had no choice but to soil our trousers and on the ground. Then, they soaked up the urine with toilet paper, squeezed it into glasses, and then forcibly poured it into our mouths. On that day alone, some practitioners' legs were broken, their teeth were broken, and their mouths were injured after being beaten.

On January 25th, 2004, I was released. After I got home, I heard that a young practitioner, Ms. Zeng Geping, was detained at the brainwashing centre located in the former Huaxin City military headquarters after she was released from the forced labour camp. On June 5th, 2004, I went to her home to talk with her family members to see if we could find a way to get her out of the brainwashing centre. However, I was arrested by policemen from Daishi Township. Xiong Gang and a few other officers severely wounded me with batons. After that, they held me at the Guangan Detention Centre. Seeing that my wounds were getting worse, they transferred me to the Huaying City Brainwashing Centre. One night in early August, a policeman from the Guangan National Security Team, Fan Fuyi and a few thugs from the 610 Office¹ dragged me to the detention centre. On September 29th, the policemen from the Guangan Law Office and the guards from the detention centre carried me to the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp and subjected me to three years of forced labour again.

I was transferred to the labour camp where head Zhang Xiaofang took my cash and personal belongings. In addition, she instigated drug offender Zhang Xiaolin to strip off my clothes and cut my quilt into pieces. I was forced to stand for a long period of time. At 9 o'clock every night, the guards handcuffed me onto the bed board and forced me to squat until 2 o'clock in the morning. After that, they had a drug offender sleep in the same bed with me in order to watch me.

Sun Xiaowu and Wang Shaobin, officers with the Domestic Security Division of the Tonghe County Police Department in Heilongjiang Province, collaborated with Xia Limin, a driver with the Nonghe Town Police Station, on October 13th, 2009. They broke into a store run by Mr. Lu Peigen, a retired teacher from the Nonghe Town Middle School. They arrested Mr. Lu and confiscated several Falun Gong books, a DVD player, and other personal belongings.

Mr. Lu's son, Lu Qianli, went to the Tonghe County Domestic Security Division to ask for his father's release on the morning of October 14th. Officers Sun Xiaowu and Wang Shaobin and others detained him and then confiscated two computers and one monitor from his residence.

Later on, Wang Hanfu, the Nonghe Town Police Station deputy head, and five to six officers went to Mr. Lu's home three times to intimidate his wife and their eight-year-old daughter.

Mr. Lu was abused and mistreated until he was vomiting and dizzy on October 15th. The Tonghe County People's Hospital diagnosed him with precursor to cerebral haemorrhage. Afraid of being held responsible, Sun Xiaowu and the detention centre authorities released him after Sun had extorted 2000 yuan¹ and then 300 yuan from Mr. Lu's family.

I have a relative who was a general when he was in the military service. In order to offer him salvation and an opportunity to assimilate to Dafa, I tried several approaches to clarify the facts to him. I also told him about the spiritual and physical changes in me after I started cultivation. He witnessed the miracles of Dafa in me and in his own experiences after he started to believe in Dafa and Master.

Maintaining my spiritual status of a cultivator, always thinking of others, and always behaving according to the standard of a cultivator has won respect from my relatives and friends, and it also helped the general to have the right view of Dafa and practitioners. As a practitioner during the Fa rectification period, I have worked hard to offer salvation to others with compassion and to clarify the facts well. The general gradually understood that Dafa was good and also started to gain a clear understanding about the Chinese Communist Party after reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

One time the general's wife told me, "Our living room has been rearranged, and the picture of the general and Jiang (Zemin) shaking hands has been taken down and destroyed." I felt very happy for them after hearing about this. I felt happy for the general and his family for choosing a bright future for themselves.

Another time, when many relatives gathered for a party at a restaurant, and everyone was toasting each other, the general stood up and said solemnly to the three of us practitioners, "I would like to propose a toast for your Master, I wish him health and all the best!"

In 2008, the general went to the hospital for surgery. I went to Beijing visit him while he was in the hospital. Before I left for Beijing (the 28th of that month), I added one thought when I was sending righteous thoughts at 6:00 a.m., "Clear away all the evil elements and dark minions who interfere with the general's recovery." When I arrived in Beijing, the first question the son and wife of the general asked me was, "Did you send any energy at 6:00 a.m. on the morning of the 28th? We [the general] felt it!" I told them, "Yes, I sent righteous thoughts exactly at that time!"

The general's wife told me that at 6:00 a.m. on the 28th, the second day after the surgery, the general was still hooked up with many tubes and not out of danger. At that time he suddenly woke up and sat up. He looked all over his body and murmured, "Falun Gong, Falun Gong..." He even mentioned Master's name. He sat there murmuring. At the same time, he removed all the tubes and needles. The doctors and nurses got agitated and asked him to let them connect them back, but he said, "No need, the Master of Falun Gong came. I am healed, and there is no pain at all." The general went back home six days after quite a serious surgery.

When we gave him the book Zhuan Falun to read, he accepted it gladly. He said that he would read it, and he asked for Master's lecture audio. The general told us afterwards that he listened to Master's lectures three times continuously, and then he read Zhuan Falun again, and that he understood much better.

I was once detained for practicing Falun Gong, and a lady in her sixties was in the same cell as I was. From the very beginning, she had a negative attitude towards Falun Gong practitioners. Many practitioners clarified the truth to her (explained the facts about Falun Gong and its persecution in China) with compassion, but she didn't listen, and continued to interfere. When I explained the facts to her, she searched for different excuses to interfere with my practicing the exercises and clarifying the truth.

I then remembered Master's words about looking within and not being disturbed by everyday people, so I still treated her with compassion and talked to her about Falun Gong. I also sent forth righteous thoughts frequently to eliminate the evil elements behind her.

Later, after seeing that I treated her with sincerity, she changed. Soon afterwards, she was transferred to another cell. The inmates there often took advantage of her and swore at her. She could not withstand the mental pressure and got heart disease. She then told someone who knew me well (and who had also begun to practice) to ask me what to do about the heart disease.

I wrote on a paper slip to her, "Truly believe that Dafa is good and recite 'Falun Dafa is good' every day." She did as I told her and within a month, she recovered from the heart disease. She was very happy and said she would definitely start practicing after her release. She also told those around her that Falun Dafa was indeed good. There was someone who told her that he had pain all over his body. She told that person to recite "Falun Dafa is good." Afterwards that person also recovered from the pain.

My toothache had lasted for more than six months. I had kept sending forth righteous thoughts and looking inward for the cause. Was this a warning for me to cultivate my speech? Did I have the attachment of sentimentality? Did I not do the three things (study the Fa [the teachings of Falun Dafa], send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and about the persecution to the world's people) well? I found many attachments and also tried my best to do better according to the Fa, but it did not get any better. During the past month, it got worse. It didn't matter whether I drank cold or hot water, my teeth ached badly. I could not even eat vegetables. When I touched my teeth, one on top and two on the bottom were loose. I heard from several everyday people that their toothaches were cured after brushing their teeth with a kind of medicinal toothpaste. So I thought, it was just a toothpaste, I would not go to the hospital, I could try it. On the first couple of days, there seemed to be improvement, but on the third day the toothache became even worse than before. After my sister, who is also a practitioner, learned about this, she suggested that I stop using the toothpaste. So I stopped.

Since my xinxing (heart and mind nature, character) fell to the level of everyday people, I felt really tired and sleepy all day. I had never felt so bad since I had begun practicing Dafa. I was not able to concentrate on Fa study and didn't want to do the exercises either. I read an article in "Zhengjiang Weekly," published on October 13, 2009, in which a fellow practitioner talked about the benevolent solution for her toothache, and it helped me a lot. I did what the fellow practitioner did and sent thoughts towards the spirit on my teeth for benevolent solutions. On the third day, when it was time to send forth righteous thoughts, I said to the spirit, "This is the last chance for you to receive a benevolent solution. Don't miss this opportunity and leave immediately! Otherwise, if I cannot eliminate you, the universal Fa would not keep you." When my firm thought was sent out, the toothache almost stopped. The next day I was able to eat vegetables and even peanuts.

My enlightenment quality however, of believing in Master and the Fa was not good, and my deeply-rooted everyday people's thoughts were very strong. I sometimes tried to touch my teeth to see if the toothache was really gone or if my loose teeth were really OK. Since my thoughts were not righteous, the toothache returned twice.

Today, when I was reading Zhuan Falun, the Fa awakened me.
"However, upon having it removed for him, his mind still worries about it. He always thinks that the condition still exists. He still thinks that it is there, and this is already an attachment called suspicion. As time passes, this person may bring it to himself again. One should give up this attachment, as this spirit or animal possession no longer exists." (Zhuan Falun)
and,

"The enlightenment that we actually refer to is a matter of whether in the course of cultivation practice one can enlighten to and accept the Fa taught by the master or the Tao taught by the Taoist master, whether one can treat oneself as a practitioner upon encountering tribulations, and whether one can adhere to the Fa while practicing cultivation." (Zhuan Falun)

Am I a practitioner? Master's Fa speaks so clearly, so why I was not able to do it? The loose teeth were just a superficial illusion, it was testing me to see if I could understand and accept the Fa principles. If not, I would bring it to myself again. Although the spirit in other dimensions was benevolently resolved, the thoughts of not believing in Master or the Fa could be seen by the demons in other dimensions and they used it as an excuse to persecute me. It could be very dangerous. We must immediately correct our xinxing. The Fa is mighty and powerful and can rectify any abnormal condition. A few years ago, I witnessed Dafa's miracle on my daughter. Shortly after she gave birth to her baby, her right arm was too painful to lift up. After she did the second set of exercises, her arm could move freely and the "illness" was eliminated. Why was my mind not clear when I was tested?

I have recited Zhuan Falun and I study the Fa every day. How is the quality of my Fa study? When we encounter problems, it is a direct test of how well our Fa study is every day. I have practiced cultivation for seven years and all of my illnesses have disappeared. I didn't even notice when the four bean-sized angiomas on the back of my left hand disappeared. I have also witnessed Dafa's miraculous effects on my family members. All of these vivid examples were shown to me. Why could I not truly believe in Master and the Fa one hundred percent? The key is that I had not fundamentally changed my conventional thinking and have instead crawled within the boundary delimited by everyday people's ignorance. Master warned us in his lecture of "Fa Teaching Given in Manhattan,"

"But, cultivating in this worldly society, you face temptations on many fronts, and at each moment and in every happening there is the question of whether you pass muster. That's why I say that only when someone goes through all this is he really extraordinary."

It is very, very important and crucial for practitioners to believe in Master and the Fa. When I drink a glass of water in one breath, others definitely believe that the water is in my stomach because they see it. But since the divine power of the Buddha Fa that Master endows us with cannot be seen, our minds may be unstable when using them, which is an indication of not believing in Master and the Fa. If we truly believe in Master and the Fa, the divine power from our concentrated righteous thoughts will eliminate the evil forces that damage the Fa in other dimensions. Sending forth righteous thoughts is a battle of good and evil in other dimensions. How can we not be clear-minded during this crucial moment? How could we relax? We should believe one hundred percent that the divine power of the Buddha Fa that Master endows us with is mighty, powerful and truly exists. We should pay close attention to cultivation and learn to make good use of the power that Master endows us with to protect ourselves and to eliminate all the evils and demons that damage the Fa.

After I completed this article, all my abnormal conditions were rectified.

On October 31st, the First Vice-Premier of China and member of the Chinese Communist Party Politburo Standing Committee, Li Keqiang arrived in downtown Brisbane. Falun Gong practitioners rallied outside Stamford Plaza to condemn the 10-year persecution of Falun Gong that is taking place in China.

The practitioners displayed banners to send a clear message to the visiting Communist officials: Stop the persecution of Falun Gong. The practitioners also appealed to the Australian government and citizens to help end the persecution.

Practitioner John Andres said, "The persecution of Falun Gong in China by the Chinese Communist regime has lasted over 10 years. In China, for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, people can be persecuted to death. We are here to get our voice heard. We display banners to let the Chinese Communist officials and Australian people know that the persecution is happening in China. We condemn the Chinese Communist regime's atrocities, and yet we are not against China. It is the Communist regime that has been systematically destroying Chinese traditional culture."

Because of his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Frank Zhao was tortured in a labour camp for two years. He participated in the rally to express his heartfelt wish to the visiting Chinese Communist officials: Stop the persecution of Falun Gong.

One practitioner drove a hour and a half to join the rally. She said, "It is very important for us to be here. We need to let the Communist officials know that the whole world knows about the persecution in China and that the perpetrators of the persecution will be brought to justice. If we remain silent, the Communist officials will continue the atrocities. They need to know that the persecution of Falun Gong is very wrong."

The peaceful protest attracted the attention of the mainstream media including ABC and The Sunday Mail. Many passersby asked about the rally and expressed their support for Falun Gong.

The Falun Gong Society at the Taiwan Superior Court held its first group exercises during lunchtime on October 15th, 2009. The court staff enjoyed learning the five exercises from organiser Ms. Zhuang Huiping. She said that the society, which had been established and approved in mid-October, would provide staff members with another option for relieving work-related stress and improving physical and mental health.

Ms. Liu Lihua, another organiser of the society, has been practising Falun Gong for six years. She started while she was helping a sick colleague find a cure for her illness. After practising Falun Gong with the colleague, Ms. Liu was surprised to discover that her chronic back pain had disappeared and that stress no longer caused her to lose her temper with her children. Her entire family now practises Falun Gong. She said that the joy of good health was more precious to her than gold.

Ms. Zhuang and her parents have been practicing Falun Gong for many years. Before she began practising, she had low energy, poor circulation, a pale complexion, and scoliosis. After practising, however, her complexion gradually regained its colour, and her back straightened as well. Some colleagues noticed her changes and asked her to teach them Falun Gong. She and Ms. Liu discussed how they could spread the word about the benefits of Falun Gong. Many colleagues actively supported them as they established the society, which they believed would benefit members of the court staff.

The Taiwan Superior Court quickly approved the Falun Gong Society as staff members anxiously waited. Human Resources Director Chen was involved in the approval process. He has great respect for the Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance principles of Falun Gong. He said that he had seen a rude and arrogant relative become courteous and considerate after practising Falun Gong. Witnessing Falun Gong's power to enlighten people was an eye-opening experience for him.

The Taiwan Superior Court joins the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Taiwan Customs, the Taoyuan District Prosecutor's Office, and the Keelung City Police Bureau as the most recent Taiwanese government agency to have a Falun Gong Society.
