The hate and enmity, generated from high political pressure, have made the people who are afraid to be dragged into the whirlpool of politics cold and hardhearted. Also, for some personal gains and selfish reasons, they choose to side with the strong and oppress the weak In other words, the hate propaganda, which has developed into a culture, is now deeply implanted in the fiber of the nation. When hate and enmity are a part of the culture of China, what does Jiang's regime, a keen promoter of cultural exchange, have to offer to the world?

Charles Taylor has been accused of gross human rights abuses and large-scale corruption. Similar to Taylor, Chinese Former Chairman Jiang and his regime have caused the deaths of at least 831 kind, innocent Falun Dafa practitioners, and have brought suffering upon tens of millions of families. At the same time, Jiang has misused his power for personal gain, and arranged for his son, of less than mediocre attributes, to become the Vice-Dean of the Chinese Science Academy.

On December 2 VOA (Voice of America), published the news that the War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague has sentenced a Bosnian Serb officer, former Captain Momir Nikolic, to 27 years in prison for participating in criminal massacres.We think of the brutal persecution in China, and the torture and killing of Falun Gong practitioners conducted by Jiang Zemin and his criminal groups over the past four years. These criminals will soon be forced to take responsibility for their actions.

In 1997 or 98 when I was doing nothing, one day I went to the library, and I spotted a golden book called Zhuan Falun. I was interested because I had heard about it before, even though I didn't remember from where, so I checked the book out along with the exercise video. At first, I thought it would be a really complicated book like the Buddhist Scriptures, but it was not. Instead, it used the most common language, yet contained the most profound meaning. I was really amazed and full of wonder at the book.

Falun Gong practitioners' condemnation of Jiang Zemin's group doesn't mean they oppose the Chinese government. Also, Falun Gong practitioners' extending a welcome for Wen Jiabao's U.S. visit and their plea to severely punish Jiang doesn't mean Falun Gong supports any government, political Party, political system or political figure. It is not an act with political implications, nor is it begging someone. On the issue of the persecution of Falun Gong, practitioners hope all people can position themselves correctly. In the eyes of the practitioners there is no concept of political parties, governments or political power.

Through practising Falun Gong, I excreted the kidney stones that otherwise would have had to be taken out by surgery or with ultrasound therapy. This was indeed a medical miracle. In early 1996, a routine annual examination revealed that my transaminase level went down from 500 to 60. Without taking any medicine, my digestive system function became normal, symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhoea, and bloating disappeared, and I could have a normal diet (I used to not be able to eat fruits or cold food, even during the summer time)

he more I listened to Teacher Li Hongzhi's words, the more fascinated I became. Teacher taught that as a human one must value virtue and must return to one's true self. I was deeply moved. I regretted having not come to learn Dafa earlier. On the second day of listening to Dafa and learning the exercises I completely stopped worrying about curing my illness, and all I thought about was practicing cultivation. On the third night, I handed over my cane to my husband on our way home after the study session and, step-by-step, I walked home on my own.

Les Presses Chinoises has also tried to collect anti Falun Gong signatures in the Chinese community. Their ultimate goal was to label Falun Gong as subversive and evil, a group of people to be kept at a distance and not desired as neighbors, and people that society should fear. As a newspaper, Les Presses Chinoises spread hateful propaganda which had an extremely horrible effect on people's impression of Falun Gong. We had no choice but to file a lawsuit in the Quebec Superior Court against Les Presses Chinoises to protect our belief and our dignity."

For some people, it is difficult to believe that the Tiananmen Square self-immolation was a staged event designed to deceive people, because they cannot imagine that a government and the police could do such a shameful and deceptive act. But one thing is clear and every one has seen it on TV, that is, the plastic Sprite bottle that contained gasoline remained intact between Wang Jindong's legs during the entire process. I ask everyone who still thinks the self-immolation is reality to try an experiment. Try and melt a similar size plastic bottle and see how long it will take.

"This propaganda consists of nothing more than groundless fabrications. Our upper level management distributed this slanderous propaganda to us on a daily basis, as our work assignment. If we did not follow the orders, we would lose our jobs; but if we followed these orders, we would have to betray our conscience by lying to the general public. Each day I struggled between my conscience and economic reality. I often had nightmares in which assassins were chasing me. I was determined not to sell out my conscience or speak against my heart..."

During Jiang Zemin's state visit to Germany in April 2002, German police interfered with Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful demonstrations under pressure imposed by the Chinese government. Several cases of infringement of the basic human rights of Falun Gong practitioners occurred. The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Berlin has expressed apologies to Falun Gong regarding this matter.

Even after Les Presses Chinoises was sued in 2002 and ordered to stop its defamation, it continued to carry full-length articles from mainland China that demonized Falun Gong. Then, two questions still exist; what kind of role has Les Presses Chinoises played in defaming Falun Gong, and what harm has it brought to the plaintiffs? With these questions in mind, local reporters from a Falun Dafa website (clearwisdom.net) interviewed 5 plaintiffs from three families, including Yao Qing, Zhang Menghua, Wang Gongshi, Mao Fengying, and Ye Tonggui.

The state of slow progress or standstill is not like that of huge tribulations on the surface, but by constantly doing Dafa work, through constant successes and achievements, gradually, unknowingly I developed a feeling that I was playing an important and decisive role. Eventually I felt I was the centre of things, everybody else was a supporting role. Then I had a sense of self-satisfaction; therefore I wasn’t so strict with myself. However, all of these weren’t real. It was just my thoughts. I also felt I had given up everything; because of this I regarded studying Fa as finishing a chore. As I felt that I had nearly reached my peak of cultivation, naturally and gradually my heart wasn’t so pure. When I was reading the Fa, I didn’t have the heart of assimilating to the Fa or searching for my defects; this became the behaviour to prove that I was diligent. Therefore, the principles of Fa would certainly not be revealed. Thus, in return this made me feel that I had reached my peak. The quality of studying Fa was getting worse and worse. While I was studying Fa, I felt sleepy and tired. Eventually, I couldn’t guarantee the quantity.

After returning home I started to read the book and was deeply attracted. Master Li expounds the profound and boundless principles of Qi Gong. Falun Dafa is the great Fa of universe which cultivates Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. I thought that I had found the truth and meaning of my life. The original improper mindset in coming to only learn the five sets of exercises for securing my asylum application was gone. I decided to join the cultivation practice.

To do these things well you must, have all sentient beings in mind and have a heart of compassion, so when things are not going well in your cultivation, and you need to get back on track, you think whether I reach consummation or not is not the major concern, it is that I am here to save sentient beings and I must do these three things well in order to fulfil what I am supposed to do and not have the selfish thought of, I must reach consummation. So all the things that are supposed to be done will follow on automatically without thinking about it.

The renaming of the 610 Office will not have any effect on the exposing of its crimes to the world. It remains the same organisation, responsible for the same crimes. Whichever name it is given, Falun Gong practitioners can use either at will – if we wish to use 610 Office we shall. If we wish to use the new name, “Purge the Evil Cult Office” then this is nothing for us to be frightened of. It is an opportunity to talk about and expose even more clearly how the propaganda campaign and slander of Falun Gong are an integral part of Jiang’s persecution.

"I really hate those police the most, and truly admire Falun Gong. How dare the police prosecute Falun Gong? Why don't the police dare to prosecute the gangsters' community? This is because Falun Gong teaches 'Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance', and they are easy to bully. They do not dare to prosecute the gangsters' community because some of them are involved with the gangsters' community. Wait until I get authority. I'll send all of these abusing thugs to jail!"

I started practicing Falun Dafa on October 1, 1998. I practiced and studied the Fa, adhering to the principles of Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance. My xinxing (heart or mind nature, moral character) was improving while my physical health was changing for the better: my neck became normal and the black spots on my face disappeared, the skin all over my body became smooth and delicate. I started to look youthful and felt energetic. The hospitals confirmed that all the illnesses I originally suffered from were cured.

In the beginning, I was just thinking to try it out, but after reading Teacher's book and listening to his lectures on video tape, I understood the purpose of life, why people live and how they should live. After continuing to study the Fa, I changed my thoughts a lot. On the subject of dealing with people and doing things, I did my best to follow Dafa's teachings and standard. My illness became better every passing day and I gradually stopped taking medicine. My illness is now cured and I do not take medicine any more.

After I obtained Dafa, I eagerly read Teacher's books, like crops absorbing fine rain. I tried my best to follow the requirements of Teacher's books and kept studying Dafa and practicing the exercises. My body was purified and all the illnesses I had before disappeared. My mind also improved, and I didn't feel any pressure anymore. I could also take everything lightly and not allow things to disturb me. My colleagues and I were then like family members and we had a harmonious relationship. My outlook on the world changed completely. I understood why people should not do bad things, because evil will be met with evil.

After cultivating for half a year, I basically had no more illnesses. I went out to do the exercises every morning from four to five o'clock. My husband feared that I might catch a cold and tried to stop me, "You will definitely catch cold this winter!" but not only had I not fallen ill that winter, all of my chronic illnesses vanished completely in the years following my cultivation. In the past, I had to be hospitalized once or twice each year and had to take medications every single day. Since practicing the exercises I have not been hospitalized once nor have taken one tablet to this day.

Compared to veterans working as long as I had, my rank was two grades lower. Before practicing Falun Dafa, I complained a lot about that because I felt my contribution and my reward were disproportionate. Since I became a practitioner, I have tried to take fame and interest lightly, and truly be a good person. I told the supervisor, " I am not qualified for the title of outstanding worker. I have been on sick leave for a year and a half. The work unit has paid so much money for my medical expenses. I have already received so much. Please give this opportunity to someone else."

Yang Hua was arrested again by policemen at Qianmen. She was sent back to our local detention center on Jan 20, 2001 and detained in the same prison with me. Once in the prison she said: "I heard some policemen from the Beijing Police Department say 'A group of Falun Gong practitioners will set themselves on fire on New Years Eve.' Another policeman immediately spoke with a meaningful glance: 'It hasn't happened yet. Don't talk about it.'" Obviously the first policeman unintentionally divulged a secret.

On July 19, 1999, police arrested the people in charge of the original Falun Dafa Association in all areas of China concurrently. Facing this persecution, and with trust in the central government, on July 20, we appealed at the Appeals Office of the central government and State Council to express our desire to have these people released. At that time, the situation was very grave. We didn't know the consequences for appealing in person, but honor permitted no turning back. We stepped forward in order to let people know the truth. We wanted to verify that Falun Dafa is good with our own personal actions.

In the beginning, I too was supportive of the warden's objectives. I believed that those people should be punished because they were anti-government. Later, however, after a period of observing and coming to understand them, I found that Falun Gong practitioners were a special group of people. While chatting together, we police officers generally agreed that these were good people in every aspect except that they refused to admit they were anti-government dissidents. Why wouldn't they admit to being dissidents? I thought I should research this question...

A while ago, in order to help a fellow practitioner find a job, I called an acquaintance of mine who worked in a travel agency and asked her: "When you are very busy, would it be possible to hire my friend to help?" I also told her that my friend is a Falun Gong practitioner and that she never did things that cheated people or were dishonest. My acquaintance said: "Ok, no problem. I would love to hire your friends who are Falun Gong practitioners. It makes me feel relieved to hire your Falun Gong practitioner friends. You guys do not do any crooked dealings regarding money or the accounts."

Falun Gong practitioners follow the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." In the past four years of persecution, many overseas Falun Gong practitioners have stepped forward to clarify the truth and appeal for Falun Gong, displaying a quiet yet powerful inner strength in their persistent efforts. In a normal environment, we believe that appealing through legal channels and face-to-face discussions are the right way to resolve matters, not tapping into television networks. However, we cannot pass judgment on the act of tapping into television broadcasts without examining the overriding situation in China.

Some of them were Beijing residents, while others came from outside Beijing. They were of different ages, profession, and academic background. The majority had not met before, yet, they shared a common bond: They cultivated in Falun Dafa and came to visit the State Council Appeals Office. Their hearts were pure and kind. They only wanted to explain to the Chinese Central Government the truth about Falun Dafa. They wanted to tell their personal experiences and how they benefited from cultivating Falun Dafa. It was a display of the trust and hope they had in their government.

It was really hard suffering in what felt like a living death. As a result of my excruciating illnesses, I became just like a withered old woman. It felt like one day was like a year. I even held thoughts of dying, in my mind. Just when I couldn't live or die, I received a copy of Zhuan Falun. I started to read it very seriously and carefully. While I was reading Zhuan Falun, I felt that my back did not hurt anymore, my mind cleared up, and all my illnesses seemed to have improved.

I was extremely fearful of the cold in winter. I had to put on heavy cotton clothing when others had not yet put on sweaters. It was even worse in summer. While other people wore short sleeve shirts with the air-conditioning on, I still had to wear long sleeve shirts and could not even stand to have a fan blowing. Since my office was air-conditioned, I was not able to stay there unless my officemates agreed to turn it off.

Jiang advocates the motto "shut your mouth and get rich." He invites chief editors, editors and journalists of overseas media to visit China and win them over with investment deals. These media who are known for bold reporting and reports on scandals gave very limited coverage on this historically unprecedented persecution. For overseas Chinese media, the villainous group buys, invests or sends people to work for these media, so they gradually became overseas spokesmen for Jiang's villainous group.

One day I went to the market to buy some food. I told the salesperson, "You can give me the smaller ones." He looked at me strangely and asked, "Everyone always chooses food that is larger, why do you want to buy the smaller ones?" I said to him, "There are people in my home who practise Falun Dafa, and they tell me that I should think of others always, and be a good person." To my surprise, he replied immediately, "We all know that Falun Gong is good."

Some people may say that it is true that Jiang is wrong in persecuting Falun Gong, but that overall, China's economy has been developing fast during Jiang's tenure. Not only people's lives benefited, but China's overall power has also increased significantly. So they say that after comparing these things, Jiang's successes have outweighed the loss. This is fundamentally wrong. People need to know that with the economic growth, the difference between the rich and poor, as well as the level of unfairness in Chinese society has gone to extremes.

On June 27, 1999, right after the Chicago experience sharing conference, Teacher Li came to see the practitioners at the morning practice in Chicago's Olive Park. While trying to get closer to him, I stumbled and fell into the fountain. Teacher Li pulled me out of the fountain and answered the many questions I asked him. After Teacher Li left, on my way to the restroom I started to run very fast in spite of my disability. I was very surprised. I usually have a hard time walking. How could I run all of a sudden?

After he got into power, Jiang tightened the dictatorship created by Mao, made use of the reforms created by Deng and stabilized his position. He assigned his son Jiang Mianheng, who had no experience, as the deputy dean of the China Academy of Science, and provided him with government loans to run his international business. He brought serious corruption to the government, and created a huge gap between the rich and poor. The society is becoming more and more unstable with the crime rate climbing.

"I am touched to see so many Falun Gong practitioners under the sunshine here ... There are so many good Chinese people practicing Falun Gong outside China. Cultivation practice is a very good thing, though it is not easy to do. I feel sorry that so many Chinese people cannot practice openly in our own vast land of China. Where does my sorrow come from? From the totalitarian regime and the dictator."

In March 1995, I luckily found out about Falun Dafa. It was a turning point in my life. At the beginning when I went to the exercise site, I couldn't even perform the first four exercises since I was extremely weak and the condition of my heart was very poor. After some time of working on the exercises, my body gradually felt relaxed and I could easily finish the standing exercises, which lasted for an hour. I felt like I was saved from the hell of pain and hopelessness! It was a miracle!

The first time they tortured me by force-feeding was on July 18 2001. Every time they did this, a dozen people held me down on a bed and tied my hands and feet. In order not to let me see their faces and the tools they used, which had blood on them, they covered my whole body with a large piece of white cloth with a hole cut out around where my mouth was. They forced open my mouth with a steel opener used on horses and pried apart my teeth with steel pliers. They inserted a thick rubber tube more than two metres long into my mouth and then into my stomach. My mouth was filled with blood and my body was covered with bruises from being beaten.

The evil police frequently visited my home to threaten and intimidate my family. My teenage son could no longer practise Falun Dafa peacefully because of tremendous pressure from his school and society. His improved health gradually became worse day by day. Four months after the persecution of Falun Gong began he died....

All that Falun Gong practitioners have done is for the purpose of exposing and ending this persecution. Falun Gong practitioners won’t cause a violent revolution like the Communist Party did in those past years. Four years have passed since Jiang’s gang of crooks took control of the nation’s political machine and began to seize Falun Gong practitioners all across the country. This persecution has developed to this point today and Jiang’s crimes against Falun Gong cannot be forgiven.

"When the suppression of Falun Gong started, I thought that something must have gone wrong with Jiang's power. I graduated in 1989, and I knew that many innocent students were shot to death on June 4, 1989. But the authorities of the communist party denied this to the utmost. When the 'self-immolation incident' was broadcast, I thought it was a true story with extra processing. I did not realize that Jiang cruelty had reached such an extent."

The downfall of morality-- the jealousy and suspicion among the people, and the cheating has destroyed the Chinese nation. From this viewpoint, Falun Gong really is a monument. Truth, Compassion and Forbearance: these three valuable words have created innumerable sober lives. For the sake of Truth, they are not afraid of violence. They dare to defend the truth and dare to lift up a cry for truth.

In spite of everything, practitioners still persevere and retain their integrity. Such spirit should warrant everyone's admiration--especially as this spirit, which is based on being considerate of others when doing anything motivates the behaviour of every Falun Gong practitioner. My family member (who practises Falun Gong) uses his own funds to support poor students and spends his time working with and tutoring students. His strong belief in "Truth Compassion Tolerance" is more worth than all of our education.

"Although Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted so severely for four years now, Falun Gong practitioners both inside and outside China have resisted peacefully, thanks to our belief in truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. More and more people know about the facts about Falun Gong. Falun Gong has now spread to more than sixty countries worldwide and has received over a thousand proclamations."

"No one was in charge and no one had to distribute food. Everyone was self–restrained, taking the food in an orderly way. Some voluntarily collected the garbage, and the empty boxes and bottles just disappeared without a trace. Everything was going on quietly just like a family. The ground was clean and everyone still sat on the ground; it manifested the harmony and tacit understanding among the several thousand people. From the bottom of my heart, I was shocked and deeply moved."

I came to know a Falun Gong practitioner Wang Yu (alias name), who opened up a take-out food shop. During his dealings, he has made an example of himself to help people understand the truth of Falun Gong. He strictly requires that the quality and price of the products are reasonable, and treats others with compassion. By his actions, he personifies and demonstrates the upright and dignified nature of Falun Dafa.

Not long ago, the public security system in China issued documents regarding the lawsuits brought against Jiang by Falun Gong practitioners in various countries. These documents explicitly forbid providing evidence for the lawsuits while at the same time completely leaving out the details of the lawsuits. This intentional cover-up backfired, and the fact that Jiang is being sued overseas has gradually leaked out to the public from internal sources.

I was born in Prague 51 years ago in communist Czechoslovakia. In my childhood and throughout my life I was always searching for the spiritual meaning of life. I had many masters and teachers. Deep inside, in a place I was afraid to enter, above anything else I always wanted to be a good person. Just to be a good person. Just to have that chance. Just once, in this lifetime.

The Chinese government has purchased and controls a large percentage of Chinese-language media, not only in China but in virtually all countries around the world. The CCTV and Xinhua Party mouthpieces now have a direct channel into the living rooms of Chinese speakers living in a multitude of foreign countries. Falun Gong-slandering programs that were published and aired in Mainland China have appeared in all corners of the world at almost the same time.
