There is very little religious freedom in China. I know many people like to keep fit with qigong exercise or seek beliefs for spiritual support. As for those so-called suicide or self-immolation incidents, such as the propaganda reported as "Falun Gong 1700 Deaths," I can tell you most of these 1700 people probably had mental diseases or were suicidal to begin with. We should see the true facts, that many practitioners obtained spiritual hope due to practising Falun Gong, felt peace, and would not want to commit suicide any longer.

One time, a doctor from the detention centre came to observe Mr. Cui's condition. Looking at Mr. Cui's drawn face, the doctor grinned fiendishly and then stomped on Mr. Cui's wrist with his boots. He even twisted his boots on Mr. Cui's wrist. He was the Chinese Communist Party police doctor. While he tortured practitioners, he laughed contentedly. His appearance was really odd and he looked just like a ghost.

When we came back after 7 a.m., the banners were still there. The red characters on the yellow cloth were very eye-catching. Many people walked by and read, "Falun Dafa is good!" Some people stopped and talked in small groups of two or three and said, "Falun Gong is stronger than the police." I took a few photos of the scenes.

They'll try to force you to change your mind." I said: "Well, I am absolutely sure that I won't write the statements, and I strongly demand that I be released without any charges. I will definitely get out of this place." Ruan then said to me: "Let me tell you, if you don't write the three statements, it is impossible for you to be released without any charges. If you can really get out of here like that, you have to be some kind of legendary figure." I promised Ruan: "Mr. Ruan, please remember my words, Falun Dafa practitioners are indeed the stuff of legends!"

After practising for a period of time, the prisoners pain was alleviated by various degrees. Experiencing the huge changes in themselves, they were convinced by the miracle of Falun Dafa. Thereafter, they started to study the Falun Gong teachings and practise the exercises with the practitioner. Every day, they studied the Falun Gong teachings, practised the Falun Gong exercises and shared experiences together. The bad environment disappeared as well. The small cell became a peaceful and pure land for cultivation.

After coming to know the facts, the official criticised Jiang for depleting national resources to persecute Falun Gong while ruining many proper businesses. He expressed his innermost thoughts, "Supposing Jiang had not issued the order, why would we ever arrest Falun Dafa practitioners?"

I was forced to sign my name when I attended an anti-Falun-Gong event. Even though I do not practise Falun Gong, I know Falun Gong is good. I have met many Falun Gong practitioners and have found their words and deeds different from what the media reports. I know that they are the best of citizens. I solemnly declare that what I said and did against Falun Gong before is invalid. I will take every opportunity to tell people that Falun Gong is great to make up for the mistake I made.

After hearing about this incident, the Party secretary stayed in the detention centre the entire day, negotiating on behalf of this practitioner. He was able to have our colleague released due to his persistence. He also told the practitioner to keep his Falun Dafa books and materials in a safe place.

Now 610 Office Deputy Director Song Minghui is in charge of the persecution, and he lives in fear all day long. People here are saying that they deserved their fates as the result of persecuting Falun Gong. Some say that good deeds are rewarded and bad ones punished because nobody can escape divine justice. Some Chinese Communist Party officials are also discussing it. They say, "It happened just like this. Is it only coincidence? These who work in 610 can't last long."

What especially stand out are the dents on the statues' heads. The statues weren't cast with these dents. The dents are a result of people's anger towards the couple and repeated beating of these statues. Actually, these statues aren't even the original ones. The original statues had their heads broken a long time ago and had to be thrown away. This demonstrates how much hatred people have against the officials who abused their powers and fabricated false crimes to murder innocent people.

The Australian reported on June 4th, 2005 that Chen Yonglin (pronunciation), the consul for monitoring Falun Gong at the Chinese Communist Parties (CCP's) consulate-general in Sydney, refused to continue working for the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and political dissidents, and sought political asylum from the Australian government.

On the surface, they have already escaped the control of the CCP's tyranny, so is it really necessary for them to announce their withdrawal from the CCP? During my conversation with the elderly gentleman, we talked about some real stories that happened in the United States. I told him about an American citizen over 80 years old who had his American citizenship revoked because he had been a Nazi several decades earlier. That elderly man listened and nodded, and seemed to understand that quitting CCP is far from being a mere formality.

The credit union director was deeply touched and thanked the practitioner whole-heartedly. The practitioner said, "Do not thank me, you should thank Falun Dafa. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, and it is Falun Dafa that teaches me to be honest." The director immediately said gratefully, "Thank you Falun Dafa! Thank you Falun Dafa! In the past I only believed what was said on China Central TV (CCTV), and I said bad things about Falun Gong. I was mistaken. I'll never believe a word from that deceitful CCTV again. After all, Falun Dafa really is good!"

For example, in one organisation who have to directly report to the provincial government most employees, except for top ranking officials, have withdrawn from the Party and the Youth League. In a suburban village of a city, Falun Gong practitioners have each taken on a section where they will focus there efforts on letting the people their know the truth about Falun Gong. After villagers became aware of the truth, over 1,200 people wrote renunciations quitting the Party, the Youth League or the Young Pioneers.

June 1st is International Children's Day, when children around the world are celebrating their own holiday. On this very day and under the same heaven, however, an unbelievable tragedy is happening to a large group of children in China, which boasts a glorious history of over 5000 years.

"What's wrong with practising exercises and keeping fit? We will hold you responsible if anything happens to him." The officials were shamed into anger, "If we can't take him away today, we're going to call in county officials to handle this. Then we'll see what you do!" The villagers, who knew the truth of the persecution, solemnly told the officials, "If you dare to call in the county authorities, we're going to gather a hundred thousand residents in neighbouring townships to settle the case with you in the county."

Savagery has truly reached an extreme. Even in everyday social interactions, not to mention a solemn courtroom, an educated man should always treat ladies in a kind and civil manner befitting polite society. Here, however, a court judge who was supposed to serve as an example of righteousness and dignity had flown into a rage and ejected a lady, a reasonable lady and legal defender, simply for looking him in the eye. Where is the justice in that?

With the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party by the Epoch Times we can see people awakening to the true nature of the CCP. Upon their realisation to this many people have taken it upon themselves to resign from the CCP. Unfortunately, the Western media have been silent on the issue for a long period of time.

The Chinese nation has a long history and deep cultural roots. However, it seems that in recent decades, the Chinese people have lost the ability to analyse and think as individuals. Whenever the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)) says something, the people not only follow automatically, but also exaggerate it even beyond what the CCP says. This kind of mind control has become typical for the Chinese people, and created a distorted experience--the "CCP culture."

He suggests that we should publish an appeal letter, with a sample letter to senators. He said many people want to send letters to their senators to help, but they are limited by their English skills, and they don't know how to write the letter. If we have a sample letter, they can just sign it and mail it out. This would provide an easy way for people to help.

Why do I claim that the judge's mind is muddled? Judges and lawyers, as experts on the law, are appointed guardians of the law and have to clearly understand and follow the laws. They should always base their actions on the fundamental principles of the law. After all, people enact the laws, which make them somewhat imperfect. Conflicting classification among various articles of law is unavoidable. I suggest that even articles within some laws are often the inverse of human beings' conscious intent.

Almost all the police I met verbally attacked or physically punished Falun Gong practitioners at will. They shouted at us all day long and would push practitioners outside to stand still for long hours if they felt like depriving someone of sleep. Could this kind of conduct be called "legal and civilised management" as stated in the Chinese government report?

Inventions and new discoveries are, by definition, things that people did not previously understand or did not have before. What we consider as true today might be proved wrong tomorrow. The scientific way of thinking and attitude should be open-minded, yet the CCP culture's way of thinking is only in terms of political struggle; its attitude is attack. In particular, it uses the accusation of "superstition" as a weapon to torture people.

I have a classmate who is a party secretary at a city labour bureau. I called her from overseas to greet her during the Chinese New Year. After exchanging greetings, I talked to her about Falun Dafa and how it had spread overseas and was now practised in over 50 countries. I also told her about The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. I told her so much. She knew I was speaking the truth and she accepted what I had to say.

People in China have been brainwashed since a young age. As a child, this wicked party was the only thing we knew. We could only say it was good. We needed to express our gratitude even when we didn't have enough to fill our stomachs.

As soon as my daughter heard that I had had a stroke, she hurried to my home and told me that I must repent first and silently recite to myself, "Falun Dafa is good." I repented in my heart and repeatedly recited, "Falun Dafa is good." I recovered from the stroke the following day. It was truly miraculous.

The CCP has destroyed traditional Chinese culture, a culture based on the course of nature and human relations and ethics. The CCP has completely distorted human thinking with its oppressive propaganda and brainwashing over a long period of time. The propaganda has permeated people's way of thinking, culture and ideology with "CCP culture," which is characterised by "deception-wickedness-violence."

Later the police again went to Xiao Ming's home trying to arrest him. After hearing the news, his workplace leaders and the county official mentioned above again came to his rescue and successfully stopped the police from taking him away. Practitioners and the people who understand the truth were all amazed by the power of the Nine Commentaries.

One day, he received a phone call from South Korea. Afterwards he sat staring at nothing with wide eyes for a long time. After a long while, he asked his family member to call a Falun Gong practitioner, and said to the practitioner, “Your teacher is really miraculous! People outside of China know exactly what I have done to Falun Gong practitioners! I will never do any bad things anymore! I will never do any bad things anymore!”

As of this time, Falun Gong books have been translated into over thirty languages and spread to over seventy countries and areas. The practise has gained more than 1,300 awards, over 100 supporting bills, and more than 1,000 supporting dear-colleague letters from government, officials and organisations. Falun Gong has achieved this remarkable recognition in just thirteen years.

On May 6th, 2005, Indonesian practitioners called on the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) to stop the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. They stood in the broad space across the street from Jakarta's Chinese Embassy. With two banners, they held a peaceful and reasonable appeal for about 15 minutes. During the appeal, the atmosphere was tranquil and calm. They did not speak loudly or shout any slogans. At the end of the activity, when all the practitioners had walked 20-30 meters away, a group of policemen suddenly chased them down and carried practitioners in yellow T-shirts to the police car.

Hearing that Xiao Qing got out of the prison when her term finished, I asked for a leave from work and came back from Shenzhen to see her. I said to her in tears, "You gave me a new life! Without you, I would never be where I am." Xiao Qing said, "The one you should be thankful to is our Teacher. He has given us so much that one lifetime is not enough to thank him!"

Facing labour camp sentences, imprisonment and being compelled to stay away from home to avoid further persecution as well as people's scorn, Falun Gong practitioners have not harboured any hatred in their hearts. They have used various ways to clarify the truth to people about Falun Gong. They firmly believe that the truth will finally drive away the lies and peace will defeat violence. Just as sunlight will eventually dispel the fog, Falun Gong practitioners' sincerity, forbearance and compassion will also eventually melt the frost and snow that have covered people's minds.

On May 9th, 2005, the New York Times published an article with facts that raised doubts about whether the CCP is governing China according to its own laws. One of the examples used was that Falun Gong practitioners were being detained at the Second Forced Labour Camp of Shandong Province without any legal procedures. The CCP claimed through its media that it governs China by law, but in fact China is run by an authoritarian regime.

It is hard to imagine the absurdity of a particular court case in Twenty-first-century Singapore. On February 23rd, 2003, two Falun Gong practitioners were practising the Falun Gong exercises which consist of slow moving, meditative exercises at a waterfront park and distributing VCDs containing information on how Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted in China. The case is really a non-issue, but in Singapore, the practitioners were charged one year after the incident and were tried another year later. The most absurd part is that the two Falun Gong practitioners were actually convicted and sent to jail.

In order to strictly control criminals, they developed some cruel and unusual punishments; for instance they would force the detainees to stand in a fixed position. If they moved, the person would be severely punished. The jail rationed water to its inmates. During my last eight days in jail, I was put in a cell with two others and our water allotment was grossly insufficient. We had no choice but to take the water from the toilet.

After she read the facts about Falun Gong, the situation in China and the pictures depicting the kind of torture that Falun Gong practitioners are subjected to, she said in a clear mind: “Do you know why your government wanted to do this? They want to deceive your people and force them to only believe them. They want to block any upright faith which contains higher principles than theirs, making your people only care about material possessions. It is such a shame."

This eventually had the opposite effect than what was intended, as it aroused the curiosity of the Communist Party members. Instead of obeying the directives from above, they went around asking people for and looking for the Nine Commentaries. They were determined to take a look and see what was actually written in the Nine Commentaries.

The prosecutor failed to provide effective evidence to show that the accused really held or handed out VCDs. Neither the prosecutor nor the police were able to agree on the legal basis of "assembly." The judge ignored this in her verdict. The verdict gives the police absolute power in deciding the criteria of a permit. It would seem the court hands over the constitutional rights of the people to the government and police. The police can decide which constitutional rights the people can or cannot exercise. Isn't this a totalitarian rule, disregarding the rule of law?.

As she listened to me, my sister sighed and said, "Falun Dafa is indeed miraculous! I also want to practise Falun Dafa - can I?" I said, "Yes - of course you can." Just like this, my cousin started to practise Falun Dafa. From then on, her health has improved daily. She can now carry out some of the housework. She tells everyone she meets, "Falun Dafa is good; it is Falun Dafa that saved my life."

After he read the Nine Commentaries by the Epoch Times, he was shocked and understood the true nature of the CCP. He came to see how the CCP acts as a group of hoodlums committing any crime and that only by resigning from the CCP could he remove himself from the evil shackles of Communist ideology.

Only a nation that reveres morality will encourage its people to care about others regardless of their nationalities, to give back to the community, and to promote humanity worldwide. This is what truly makes a great nation! A great nation does not earn its prestige because of its size or its foreign exchange reserve, but because of its concern for and its contribution to other nations and people of other nations.

Even as people throughout the world criticise and condemn the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for persecuting Falun Gong, a Singapore court, under the influence of the CCP, handed down guilty verdicts for two Falun Gong practitioners, sentencing them to heavy fines and imprisonment on April 27th, 2005. Obeying the directions of the CCP has brought serious harm to the government and people of Singapore.

Recently, scientists have discovered that the cosmos is experiencing unprecedented dramatic changes while other galaxies are separating from the Milky Way at an accelerating speed. From ancient Chinese culture, it is said that the phenomena in the cosmos are connected to human world, that dramatic changes in the cosmos link to huge events in the human world.

One declaration was taped to a bus stop booth near Sanba Square (see picture below). Another was posted on a bulletin board on Lijia Street. Pedestrians stopped to read them carefully. This kind of declaration has never been seen before in China and has caught the attention of people, who are interested in the contents. After reading the declarations, their expressions become serious. It is clear that the declarations are thought provoking.

May 13th, 2005 was the 13th anniversary of Falun Gong's introduction to the world. It was also the 54th birthday of Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners and people from all walks of life around the world together celebrated the 13th World Falun Dafa Day with various activities.

On May 5th, 2005, Hong Kong's Supreme Court overturned convictions against Falun Gong practitioners given by a lower court. They had been charged with blocking public access and obstructing the police. Two practitioners were falsely accused of "assaulting police officers." In a summary of the case, the court said that the freedom to peacefully demonstrate is a constitutional right in Hong Kong. The court ruling also recognised that since the demonstration was legal and thus the arrest was illegal.

Has a pedestrian committed the crime of disturbing the peace when he yells loudly for help while being assaulted by bad persons? Has a person committed the crime of breaking and entering when he rushes into someone's house to put out a fire? Every law has many clauses and details. However, these clauses and details, no matter how numerous, cannot cover all of the varied circumstances in actual society. Therefore, police officers need to know how to enforce the law using appropriate measures, and the judges need to make proper explanations and judgements during court cases.

Two days later she came back to see me and said, "Sister-in-law, I have decided to withdraw from CCYL. I have discussed it with the teacher in charge of our class. I asked the teacher if the CCP is good, and she replied that it is already corrupt. I then asked her if Falun Gong is good. The teacher said that Falun Gong is very good, but its practise is difficult because one has to restrain one's heart and be a good person.

Just after he said that, unexpectedly the dog stood up and barked twice at this practitioner. The man explained to him that the dog didn't want him to leave. After a while, the other practitioner stood up and said goodbye, but the dog ran to him and barked once, as if asking him to stay. The two practitioners had to sit down again. They urged their friend to reconsider resigning from the Communist Party. But he was still reluctant to do so.
