Cultivation is a process of continuous improvement, a process from not believing to strongly believing, from having an unclear understanding of the Fa to a clear understanding, and from an easily disturbed mind to a determined heart. When we gradually eliminate human attachments and have a pure heart, the things we do are also pure.

It’s the difference between validating oneself and validating the Fa. If the mirror only faces inward, I can only validate myself, because that’s all I can see. But if it turns, I can validate the Fa because I can see what is in my dimension.

Teacher said that it is our fault if we have any conflicts with non-practitioners. Indeed, my sister-in-law is not a cultivator. She fussed with me and I fussed back. Hadn't I sunk to the same level? Cultivators are supposed to follow the Fa's requirements that are higher than the level of non-practitioners.

In the kind of work I do, clarifying the truth requires efficiency and effectiveness. Sometimes I have only two or three minutes to clarify the truth. Although the time is limited and clarifying the truth is challenging within some time frames, we can still do a good job if we don't hold onto any human attachments.

Looking within made me aware that being afraid of being bothered is an attachment. This is a process in which we can improve. In addition, people observe everything we as practitioners do and how we act. People notice when we are able to follow the Fa and do well and they may even begin to practice.

I only cared about big events. Perhaps I did not care about isolated persecution cases and only cared about practitioners I knew. Perhaps I only cared about what was on the surface and got frustrated easily or complained about other practitioners not having righteous thoughts. All of my attachments were gaps. Every individual case of persecution is the persecution of our entire entity.

Some practitioners dare not clarify the facts or do not know how to do it, so they hold the posters or send forth righteous thoughts. In my understanding, no matter what form they use, as long as they are there for saving sentient beings, they are adding a positive element to the one-body.

While I was in college, I was fortunate to obtain Falun Dafa. The moment I finished reading Zhuan Falun, I immediately understood that this was what I had been waiting for. I was so excited. Since then, I have been following Master's teachings. Purifying my heart and soul and cultivating to become a selfless,
altruistic and righteous enlightened being is the goal of my life.

This afternoon, another beautiful customer of mine that I know very well was quarrelling with my sales person about the price of a product. When she saw me, she grabbed my arms, leaned towards my body, and acted in an inappropriate manner. She kept calling me “brother” and asked me for a lower price. People all looked at me. Although I looked upright at that moment, in my heart I was hoping she would lean on my shoulder for a little longer.

There are many ways for us to save sentient beings, including distributing fliers; clarifying the truth face-to-face, over the phone, over or Internet; as well as promoting the Divine Performance Arts (DPA) shows. Still, many practitioners have this question: Why is it so difficult to encourage people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations?

My husband is an alcoholic. He is just like the person described by Teacher, who would not raise his rice bowl at a meal if there was no alcohol. When he was awake, he would say nothing no matter what you'd say to him. Once he was drunk he would start picking on me. Whether it was some unhappiness at work, or if he was mistreated somewhere else, he would come home and drink then start his brawl.

Sometimes I went on long-distance buses. Once, I was on one and started clarifying the truth to the driver and encouraging him to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He then got rid of the portrait of Mao Zedong on his bus and replaced it with a Falun Gong talisman. I asked him to play a truth-clarification CD, and he played it twice for the customers on the bus. Everybody listened attentively.

At least, now I know, as we have come to this day, when confronting any problem, as long as I can keep this thought-- "I am a Dafa practitioner", or "this is a good thing", or "I must meet the standard" and so on, then I will be able to do better than what I have done.

Excessive enthusiasm and exaggerated cheerfulness are but an obstacle, she said. They are qing (emotion/desire), something that interferes with and lowers the level. When qing is gone, compassion follows. When the artist is free of human emotion, his performance will not be that of a regular person but of a Falun Gong practitioner, saturated with gong.

There was a total of five adults. I immediately told them about Dafa and the persecution. I talked about the miracles of Dafa and gave them several sets of materials. I told them to recite those two lines. They all carefully put the amulets into their pockets and said that they would definitely recite "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Falun Dafa is good."

. The presentation about the water crystal experiment caught the staff and students' attention. We subsequently gave a live exercise demonstration, and when it ended, our local practitioners and my family were presented a handkerchief with a young coconut on top of it, which was their traditional custom of honouring someone.

When memorizing the Fa, one cannot express any human thoughts, and the effect is more powerful when one fully concentrates on memorization. When I studied the Fa, I usually read two to three lectures a day. Previously when I memorized the Fa, I had the attachment of wanting to accomplish something fast. I thought that my progress was slow, and even though I tried twice, I did not persevere. This time, I memorized the lectures calmly when I had time, and I did not rush or become anxious.

When my son bought a computer, I bought an all-in-one printer to go with it, and began printing materials. In less than three months, as soon as I managed to figure out how the ink cartridge worked, it died on me. It happened because I was afraid my family members would find out that I was printing materials, so I would wait for them to fall asleep each night to bring it out.

The fault lies within me when I feel bad. It indicates that it's time for me to cultivate myself and let go of my attachments. When I did all I could on my own, my schoolmates treated me badly. Teacher is so benevolent. He knew that I was not looking inward and arranged for the people around me to serve as a mirror to reflect my attachments.

I said to my mother and the others there, "It's no use bringing my mother before me like this. In the eyes of Dafa practitioners, family and outsiders are all the same. To us there's no intimate or estranged, close or distant. We don't differentiate based on these things." Another practitioner present pitched in, "When practitioners look at the myriad matters and all things, including all sentient beings, it's all the same, it's all compassion."

Once she went out to practice riding a bicycle. She came back to me and said, "Grandma, would you find me a plastic bag with truth-clarification materials? I will give them out when I see people." So when she saw a passer-by, she ran up to him and said, "Hello, please take a look at Dafa truth materials. It will bring good fortune to you."

They countered, "You must hate this government since you are detained." I replied, "No, I do not." "Why is that? "I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and we believe in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. Master told us that other people may treat us badly, but we must treat everyone well, even the people who are against us. As cultivators, we don't have enemies."

How come I was right on target every time when I looked at others? I suddenly understood: These are my own attachments being reflected back to me! I was right on target because those attachments were mine!

After becoming a practitioner, I learned that I would lose virtue and gain karma if I was not kind to people. Furthermore, once karma is produced, one must eliminate it and suffer for it. Shortly after I started my practice, the agency where I was working provided raises to the employees. There was no raise for me, yet I did not complain to my boss. He was so surprised that he asked me what was wrong.

Teacher has emphasized the importance of studying the Fa at various conferences. As a Dafa disciple, especially a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, I believe one should memorize the Fa and use it to rectify one's every single thought, because the Fa can strengthen an individual's righteous thoughts.

The two words, "strictly" and "righteous thinking," stood out in front of my eyes. Looking back at what I did and thought, did I reach the high standard set by Master? The problem was that I didn't trust Master and the Fa deeply enough, which caused a lack of righteous thoughts. When a practitioner doesn't have righteous thoughts, the evil will take advantage of it to reach its goal and make you fall.

In olden times in Japan there lived a man named Jiumi. He was troubled by emotions, and in the end he went into the mountains to practice cultivation. He endured much hardship and finally found a divine being cultivating in the mountains. He accepted the divine being as his master and began his cultivation.

an outdoor vocal contest was held at a neighbourhood plaza. Many people competed by singing CCP-themed songs. The audience clapped and sang along. I felt very sad and began to send righteous thoughts to eliminate any factors deterring their salvation. Then I went on stage and sang a Dafa song.

I also became aware that, when we are busy with the work to validate Dafa; when we feel that our attachments have been mostly removed; when we feel that we have been relatively diligent, etc., we surely should not forget to cultivate ourselves at all times and not forget to look inside..

A practitioner from another company was responsible for delivering [truth-clarification] materials to us. He delivered them to me first, then I forwarded them to the other practitioners. When I didn't have enough copies, I transcribed them and then delivered them to others. I did this for a few years, and everyone was diligent.

Actually, at the present time, there are indeed some people in the police, Procuratorate, judicial departments, and the 610 Office who quietly read the Falun Dafa books and know the truth about Falun Dafa and how it has spread around the world. They do not want to act against their conscience and persecute Falun Dafa practitioners anymore.

My mother-in-law had been in the emergency room for days. I had thought that this would be our last meeting. However, she sat up after seeing me. I told her to recite "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good" and "Falun Dafa is good." From then on, her health gradually improved and her appetite slowly returned. One week later, she left the hospital and went back home.

I said to her, "Teacher, Falun Dafa is good. My mother became very healthy after she started practicing Falun Dafa. I hope you will believe that Dafa is good and start practicing, too." After listening to what I said, the teacher answered, "I believe that Falun Gong is good, but the school just had a meeting and it doesn't allow teachers to practice Falun Gong."

On New Year's Day of the lunar calendar, 77 year-old Auntie Zhang said to all of her relatives who came to wish her a Happy New Year, "This year, let's make a change. You won't need to say those auspicious words to me. Instead, everybody just shout, 'Wonderful Falun Dafa' in front of me."

Some practitioners say that they like eating spicy food, will only drink boiling hot water, or don't like eating certain types of food. These are all attachments. Although these are small attachments, the old forces like to seize every opportunity to persecute practitioners. As practitioners, we must try hard and get rid of all human attachments, even the small ones that we often neglect.

When we were ready, we started practicing the exercises at the same time with practitioners around the globe. After we finished the five exercises, I felt that my mind and body were fresh and light. At 6 a.m.. we sent forth righteous thoughts with all practitioners around the globe. Twenty minutes later, I felt my world was clear and transparent; the field within my body and surrounding me all became clear.

One time, I went with another practitioner and we managed to hang a banner at a very popular tourist attraction, even though we were surrounded by police officers. We put up self-adhesive posters and made colourful truth-clarification banners, hanging them near roads so that pedestrians could see them.

Sending forth righteous thoughts is the fourth thing I would like to share on. Sending righteous thoughts four times a day is a must. It is crucial for practitioners to follow Master’s requirements while sending righteous thoughts—any distracting thoughts must be eliminated during that time.

The effect of talking about the truth of Falun Gong is usually very good. Some senior citizens I have talked to do not know how to read. They are mostly not members of Chinese Community Party (CCP). They would thank me again and again. Some of them want to learn Falun Gong after learning about it.

Ren returned as I was about to go to sleep. When he saw me he said, "You cannot do this. You have to study the Fa before going to bed. He explained and said, "Regardless of how late it is and how busy I am in the daytime, I would make sure I study the Fa each evening before I sleep. It must be done this way." He sounded resolute, but his manner and facial expression was calm and pure. Listening to him, I felt ashamed of myself.

"What is there to be afraid of! I read Zhuan Falun every day. The book is all about being a good person and having good health. If everyone could do what the book teaches, society would be stable and there wouldn't be any killing or theft. You are good, I am good, everyone is good. In Hong Kong and Macau, it is freely practised. If anyone wants to read the book, I can help you get one."

I was not using Dafa’s standard to measure myself when dealing with personal gain and self-interest. Instead, I was haggling over every ounce like ordinary people. Why did I think that if I give something to someone that he should return the favour? As a cultivator, we cannot think this way.

After finding those attachments, I was determined to maintain my xinxing (heart and mind nature) and act according to the requirements of Dafa no matter how other people behaved. Things changed greatly in the two training sessions that followed. Hostility disappeared and harmony arose. I realized that the trainees' bad behaviours were actually reflections of my own attachments. When I got rid of my own attachments, those things would not play any role any more. Cultivating oneself well can change the environment.

ultivators do make mistakes. Yet, for those true practitioners who are able to remove their attachments and bad habits, the progress is quicker and the improvements are greater. Therefore, we should let go of a practitioner’s mistakes or wrongdoings from the past. Also, we should not hold onto any bias or judgment about a practitioner who has made a mistake.

As practitioners, we emphasize the improvement of our moral values from the very beginning of our cultivation. Walking the cultivation path righteously and well is not only saving more sentient beings, but it also leaves a righteous path for future generations.

I then realized that everything that happens in our life is for us to clarify the facts and assist in saving more people. No matter what happens in a practitioners' life and work, we cannot treat it as an everyday issue unrelated to Dafa.

My husband is a policeman. When I first began practising, he said, "There are all kinds of crooks in society. Don't get duped!" I told him that the instruction was free and the book only cost 12 yuan. There was nothing to gain for any crooks. He saw that I was determined, and didn't object except to warn me to be careful.

In fact, when things happen, if one’s heart is not at ease, conflict is likely to occur. It is this moment that offers us the opportunity to raise our xinxing. When we can put aside our egos, we can then help others quietly with the compassion and wisdom that Dafa cultivation empowers us with. We can do things based on being responsible to the Fa, to the universe and to all sentient beings. Every single thought that we have should consider sentient beings first.

It may sound mystical, but in my tight schedule, after I spent another two hours every day memorizing the Fa, my work of validating the Fa was not only not affected, it instead made a great leap forward because of the elevation of my individual cultivation level.

After I studied the Fa, I knew that people have different predestined relationships. As a Dafa practitioner, wherever I am I should try to be a good person, be compassionate, treat everyone well, look within when faced with conflicts, consider others, correct our thoughts and align them with Dafa, validate Dafa in our work environment and save sentient beings.
