We must study the Fa more, cultivate ourselves well, let go of all human attachments, use righteous thoughts and righteous actions, and watch every thought and every action, so as to not give the evil any gap to exploit. When we encounter a tribulation, we have to treat ourselves as cultivators, look inward, and cultivate ourselves. We can only pass tests when we have faith in Master and the Fa

One day five labourers came to me. I said to them that they had worked hard and talked with them about how corrupt the society and government officials were and gave specific examples. Two of them didn't want to listen and kept going straight ahead. I stopped them and asked them to listen patiently. I told them why people should withdraw from the CCP. Eventually all of them withdrew from the CCP.

I witnessed the miracle of Falun Dafa. I now understand why, despite the persecution, torture, imprisonment, loss of family and work, and organ harvesting over the past ten years, Falun Gong practitioners have been unwavering in their beliefs and commitment to "clarifying the truth" of the persecution. I know why Li respects her Teacher. I know that the compassionate practitioners are trying to save people when they clarify the truth. They are the most selfless people on earth.

Teacher has cleansed my body again and again. I could not imagine how much effort Teacher spent on me. Several months later, I was totally changed, not only my mind but my physical body as well. All my illnesses were gone. I became open and happy, and I treated others well. My changes showed my colleagues and boss how wonderful Dafa is. I brought them the Dafa book so they too could learn of the beauty of this practice.

The Falun Gong practitioner is much better than you are. He is reliable and responsible and never does bad things. He never spends company money on personal expenses and doesn’t take company property home. The last time our company distributed moon cakes to staff, he distributed more than he should by accident. Nobody noticed, but he returned moon cakes to the company. He is healthy and fit and has never taken one sick day nor claimed any medical expenses in the past nine years....

One day on the subway, a person who looked like someone from South America sat next to me. Looking at his clothing, I didn't think he would be interested in Divine Performing Arts. Then, I remembered that I should not judge a person by his clothes and I decided to hand him a flier. As I hadn't handed any materials on the subway for a long time, this little task seemed as hard as the first time I made truth-clarification phone calls to China

Ms. Xia firmly believed that she came here to offer people salvation and do what Master asked her to do; she would not be disturbed by human thoughts. She responded, "I am very sincere in wanting to help you; that is why I tell you the truth. If you want to arrest me, you will add more karma to yourself. I came to this area to explain the facts, and I am not afraid of being arrested. If you want to get more karmic retribution, go ahead and arrest me." That policeman left quietly, with his head down.

We thus started a Fa-study site. Five hired helpers and one of my co-workers started to practice. Soon afterwards, our sales improved. In the past, they could only distribute a little advertisement materials and had to discard the rest. After beginning to practice and following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, all the advertisement materials were distributed. Because of this, their wages increased.

He taught me for two to three days but I still did not know how to use it. The last time, while he was still busy doing something else, I called him to come to help me. I complained that he was not patient in teaching me by saying that if he had been a little more patient I would have mastered the skill. Not long afterwards, police arrested him. When I learned the news, my first thought was that his cultivation had not been good; he had loopholes and he had not studied the Fa enough. Now when I think of this again I feel that had I not taken so much time from him, his cultivation would have been better. How could I still complain about the fellow practitioner?

When I dug out the roots, I discovered that my jealousy was frighteningly strong. Now I have a deeper understanding of Master's words, "If jealousy is not abolished, everything that you have cultivated will become fragile" (Zhuan Falun). To me, not only did the jealousy make my cultivated side fragile but it also enabled other attachments to become stronger and harder to get rid of.

I said, "Dafa practitioners don't do immoral things--what we do is all for others." The CCP agent said, "If that's the case, why would you go to Beijing? Why do you ask people to withdraw from the CCP?" I said, "Going to Beijing is to tell the government not to persecute good people cultivating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Advising people to withdraw from the CCP is saving them." I wasn't scared even though I was confronting many of them.

When I started going to school, I encountered xinxing (character) tests more and more. When classmates or students hit me and took advantage of me, I took it happily and let it go because Master said that when cultivating and reaching the Arhat position one should always be happy, so I followed Master's teaching when doing things.

I realized that on some level, I was thinking, "If I practice Dafa, I'll never get sick and always have a light, healthy body; I'll get into all the schools I want; everywhere I go people will like me because I'm such a good person; and I'll stay young and beautiful forever and ever!" How far is that from the standard of a cultivator? Good things come from practicing Dafa, but they're not for the purpose of living well among everyday people. They're for cultivation practice. They're for aiding Master in Fa-Rectification.

Through my mother's efforts, my father was also willing to practice Falun Gong. My mother-in-law taught him the movements, and my father read Zhuan Falun with us. My father had suffered from pain in his hip joints. Even on a very soft, thick mattress, he often woke up because of the pain. After practicing Falun Gong, the pain disappeared. Also, he was seriously addicted to drinking alcohol before, yet he gave it up for good after practicing Falun Gong.

A few days ago, my son was home alone when there was a blackout. When we got home, he was very excited to tell us that Teacher gave him a test by having him be alone in a dark room. He said that he was not scared because he had Teacher in his mind. Having faith in Teacher had firmly rooted in his mind.

After a few days, the two uncles told my father-in-law in tears, "You are so lucky to have such a good daughter-in-law." I told them with a smile that this was because I was a practitioner, and cultivated Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and that practitioners treat everyone well because we are compassionate.

I realized that, as a practitioner, I needed to be able to endure, tolerate, and to have self-control and self-restraint. Otherwise, how could I be more compassionate, or elevate myself? I needed to look inward and be tolerant of others. If I always treated others with a kind heart, was considerate of others, and if I had a pure and selfless mind, would I still have fights like these?

This employee came to work early and stayed late and never cared about self-interest. The boss was very satisfied with her and told the person in charge of hiring at the factory, "Please keep an eye out for me. I want to hire whoever practices Falun Gong, and that person won't be underpaid."

On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started its persecution of Falun Dafa. That night, someone from the local police station took away Teacher's photo and Zhuan Falun from my home. I was very sad, since Falun Dafa is the most precious thing in my life. I deeply regretted that I was not able to protect Teacher's photo and Zhuan Falun. I did the fifth exercise with tears in my eyes.

After listening to my experiences, they sat down. I told them that through practicing Falun Gong, I no longer needed the crutches, and that I had completely recovered. They all expressed sympathy, and were impressed by the miracle of Dafa. Before they left, the director said, "If you think it is good, you can practice at home. We will not watch over you all day long." They had come to arrest me, but the result was that I had the opportunity to clarify the truth. With Teacher's compassionate protection, I clarified truth with wisdom.

In telling the facts face-to-face, I bumped into all kinds of persons. Some were easy to persuade, and some were not. Some said "thank you" while others said dirty words. I encountered many different situations. During this process, I got rid of many human thoughts, such as thoughts of competition, delight, vanity, fear, and more. Each time I returned home, I summarized my experience to see where I needed improvement and how many hearts were saved.

After studying the Fa, I identified many long-term problems that had magnified. I had not studied the Fa with my full heart--I had studied with attachments. Second, I was primarily after personal gain and held the Fa in a secondary position. Third, I neglected to send righteous thoughts on time, to eliminate all evil elements. This incident taught me a huge lesson.

Some people from China asked, "If there is money to be made and a reputation to enjoy, why don't you go for that? Instead you endure so many hardships all day like this, and for what, after all?" Though overseas practitioners live in a free world, we have the same Teacher, Dafa and historic mission as Falun Gong practitioners in China. Then what we are doing this for? The answer is to cultivate to become selfless, altruistic and righteous enlightened beings as Teacher requested. In other words, we do things not for ourselves but for others; we do things not for the surface meaning of life but for the true life.

When we cannot find our attachment but all of sudden get a hint when studying the Fa with a calm mind, the attachment being hinted is the one; when we are keen to point out and fix others' attachments or argue with others, the thing that stirred our heart is our attachment; when we see two people arguing, the obvious attachment they exhibit is a reminder of our attachment; when a practitioner points out an attachment of ours and we feel uncomfortable, annoyed, or even feel a need to explain, then that is our attachment.

My goal was to save the guards and officials. The common question they had for me was "You are old and should be wise. The government told you to stop practicing Falun Gong. Why didn't you?" Calmly I explained to them how many benefits I had obtained from practicing Falun Gong. Later I told them, "There is nothing wrong with the practice. I have to defend the practice and merely want a legal environment for it." They were speechless and silently agreed with me.

With more Fa-study, the Fa theories became more and more clear to me and gradually I stopped worrying about being persecuted for making truth-clarification materials. Then the images on the DVDs then became very clear. When I saw that the DVDs I made were delivered to many households by practitioners, I had mixed feelings. I felt that without Teacher's care, there was no way we could make such delicate DVDs.

As I look back, when I said to the lady beside me, “What else can you do with 20 yuan?,” it showed my attachment of showing-off and implying that I was well off. When I said, “You can easily lose this amount of money playing mahjong,” That was something I said casually because actually, I had not played mahjong since I began cultivation. From this sentence, one could see my bad thoughts. Had I been able to recognize and let go of my attachment, the things that happened afterwards would have been different.

In "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival 
at the U.S. West Fa Conference," Master said, "If you've fallen don't just lie there, get up right away!" This teaching allows me to recognize that being regretful about a mistake is not part of my real self. If we fail to do something, just do it now. Don't spend our time on regrets. Of course, it is important to look inward to find out what attachment caused the mistake, and then let that attachment go.

My husband saw me and whispered to ask if I was moved. I told him, “Yes, indeed, your father is so greedy.” My husband then said, “We are cultivators and Master has told us that anything that happens is a good thing because it happens during our cultivation. Do you still remember Master’s Fa?” I said resentfully, “Yes, I remember.” However, I still felt resentful because of my attachment to pursuing gain.

Guided by Teacher's Fa I had the thought that being a Falun Dafa practitioner was most fortunate. Under all circumstances and to everyone who asked, I have answered with a smile, "Yes, I'm a practitioner!" Only on one occasion did I not answer "yes" to this question because of my human attachments, and I consequently failed to persuade the person to withdraw from the CCP.

After I spoke about the fabricated self-immolation incident and the history of the CCP political movements, before I even finished, this brother totally changed and had great disdain for the CCP. His entire family chose nicknames and declared their withdrawals from the CCP. My fourth brother also withdrew from the Communist Youth League. Even their six-year-old, whom I neglected at first, shouted for me to help him withdraw from the league.

My attachment to lust was completely exposed. Due to the nature of my job, I am very attractive to young women, and am always chased by them. Actually this was also my expectation. Since I knew I still had an attachment that needed to be removed, I was quite righteous and refused all the invitations. However, there were also moments when some unexpected dirty thoughts occurred to me. I enlightened that they were derived from bad things that I had seen before I cultivated.

When the guard questioned a prisoner they thought was responsible, the prisoner denied it and was unwilling to own up to it. When a prison guard with the surname He, member of the training team and one of the guards responsible for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, heard that the other guard did not believe the prisoner, he was quick to say to the other guard, "If you don't believe her story, just ask Falun Gong; they won't lie."

I did the three things (study the Fa [the teachings of Falun Dafa], send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and about the persecution to the world's people)as usual and increased the time I spent sending forth righteous thoughts. It didn't matter how badly my father treated me. When I clarified the truth to him, he would bitterly attack me if I talked about something that was not in line with his thinking. I just kept looking inward and let go of my mentality of complacency, showing off and accomplishing a task.

In 1998, while I was poor and sick, I heard the good news of Dafa. On the first day of watching Teacher's lectures on video, Teacher started to cleanse my body. Not long after I began the practice, my many chronic illnesses such as rheumatic arthritis, chronic bronchitis, low blood pressure, anemia, reduced blood platelets, all disappeared without treatment. Teacher pulled me up out of hell.

I once lived in a dormitory with several other workers. I brought along more MP3 players to let them listen to Teacher's Fa lectures. Some people just sat there and listened for hours. I knew a woman who worked at the site preparing food. She suffered greatly from arthritis, and every day she needed to take a lot of medications. I lent the book Zhuan Falun to her to read. After a week, she had finished the book and by then her arthritis had disappeared. There were also some workers who practiced the exercises with me every day. They gained healthy bodies and witnessed the miracle of the Fa.

They tried to force me to "transform," saying that they would make my son leave the army, take away my salary, and do things to my relatives, etc., if I didn't. I put down fame, personal interest, and sentimentality. My heart was as peaceful as still water. I said, "Let it be whatever it is." They had nothing to say. They didn't give up, and called in some of my family members for a second time. My family cried and tried to persuade me. Since I had put down fame, personal interest, and sentimentality, my heart remained as calm as still water.

Although it was a simple task, I still did it incorrectly at first. I was somewhat embarrassed, wondering why I couldn't do such a simple task. A fellow practitioner saw this and explained to me how to do it correctly and encouraged me. I realized that what I was thinking about was not good, and I needed to remove it. Very quickly, I could independently and skilfully complete the task.

She turned the hundred yuan over to me to be given to the Dafa truth-clarifying materials production center. I did not expect that under such harsh conditions she would still donate her money to save people. I witnessed her benevolent and unselfish heart. When I took the hundred yuan, I could not control my tears. I knew that what was in my hand was not just money, it was a heart hoping to save all sentient beings.

Since all of us came for the Fa, and each one has a different cultivation environment, we should always do the best we can. I have a job and do not have much time to prepare informational materials. The reason I asked her to help was because she could take over some of my work, and at the same time generate another material production site. It is not easy for her to prepare materials at home with a husband who is not a practitioner.

The old man said triumphantly, "I was a secretary of the prefecture Chinese Communist Party Committee and I am now retired." When the practitioner raised the issue of the corruption in China, the old man became very angry and began to curse the CCP saying that it had lost the support of the people. The practitioner told him, "Heaven will eliminate the CCP and it is important that you quit the CCP to stay safe!" She also clarified the truth to him. The old man quit the CCP happily and thanked the practitioner again and again before leaving.

The banner read: "The Fa Rectifies the Cosmos!" While attempting to work on this, clouds of flies in the room prevented me from concentrating on my work. Later on I felt at peace. When I looked up I saw all the flies were on the ceiling and did not move. The air was fresh, and I felt Master's presence, to protect me.

Several police officers ran toward me. I quickly stepped aside and went running. They quickly beat me to the ground and then punched and kicked me. Strangely enough, I felt no pain, as if my body had separated from me. It seemed that the police officers were beating someone else. Later on my wife told me that at that moment, she suddenly couldn't see anything. She didn't see how the police beat me, as if something had suddenly covered me.

I have had a lot of ups and downs in my cultivation, but now I understand that when we search inward we need to target specifically our attachments, even the ones that are hidden deep inside. When we are able to eliminate attachments without fear, Teacher will help us eliminate all interference.

Every year, my husband lost his temper several times and even smashed things when he couldn't control himself. It intensified after I started practicing Falun Dafa. I thought he might be helping me improve my xinxing, (character) so I didn't take it to heart. This year, however, he smashed my computer. I realized that it was interference because I acknowledged that he had a bad temper and let it become a "normal phenomenon." This was obviously incorrect.

. At night, I usually go to neighbouring villages where no friends or relatives of mine live, and distribute truth-clarification materials. Sometimes I take over ten pounds of materials with me to a neighbouring county. It is not an easy task for an elderly lady, well over 60 years old like me, especially when I sometimes have to walk several miles after I get off the bus. However, I am instantly refreshed and energized whenever I think of going to rescue the beings there. I know that this is because of Teacher's benevolent protection

With the attachment to selfishness, we cannot firmly believe in Teacher and the Fa. When facing problems, the first thing in our mind would be to protect ourselves and make sure our vital interests are not jeopardized. At that moment, our belief in Teacher and the Fa would become very weak. Only when we can completely cast aside selfishness, can we be free of attachments, with no loopholes, and become unshakable.

With more truth-clarifying articles published and distributed in our area, the impact in deterring the persecution was huge. The evildoers became much more frightened and acted more reserved when they persecuted Dafa practitioners; some even begged practitioners to remove their names from Minghui's bad-person list. After they realized this, even non practitioners began to protect Falun Gong practitioners.

I gradually realized that my perspective in thinking about these problems only focused on myself, and that was exactly the selfishness of the old cosmos. The factors that we should get rid of during our cultivation are all just selfishness from the old cosmos. How can we be enlightened beings in the new cosmos if we cannot get rid of selfishness? We should strive to become righteous beings who are selfless and always put others first, as Master expects of us.
