Support from the Legal Field in Finland: “I read your letter about Jiang Zemin’s crimes. I hope that the culprit will be convicted.” [15.11.2004]

Feeling the urgency of stopping the human rights atrocities against people who practise Falun Gong in China and the importance of bringing the chief persecutors, such as former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and his cronies Liu Jing, Luo Gan and Zhou Yongkang, to justice through legal means, practitioners in Finland decided to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong to a wide range of people. They particularly focused on people who work in the legal field and in local government offices

Lawyer's Speech during a Press Conference in Sweden regarding Criminal Charges Against Jiang Zemin [08.10.2004]

"I used to say that to be able to understand the desperation of the Chinese regime, you have to realise that the people they perceive as a deadly threat to the regime are the ones that have no ambitions other than to live according to their conscience and meditate in the parks. When you realise that these peaceful people, who want nothing but to live according to their conviction, are perceived as a threat, then you will also understand the inconceivable desperation and cruelty of the Chinese regime...Jiang Zemin, who has instructed this loathsome persecution, can and will accordingly be punished, either in China or in Sweden."

Letter from a Swiss Labour Union Representative to the Chinese Embassy Concerning the Refusal of a Passport Extension [06.09.2004]

"We understand from media releases that practitioners of Falun Gong have been persecuted and are detained for years in China’s prisons. They are accused of violating PRC’s security. Such accusations are far-fetched and unbelievable, given all information available to us. We therefore assume that the denial of a valid passport or such extension is another form of persecution and repression of Falun Gong. We take the opportunity to inform you that the PRC is violating international laws with such actions."

Mr. Ghiolman is a sixty-year old gentleman. He is warm-hearted and has many job titles such as Professor of Maritime Engineering in Athens University, Vice-Chairman of the Greek International Diplomats Association and councillor of the Athens government. Soon after Dafa practitioners started to prepare activities to be held in Athens, he contributed many ideas and helped out a lot.

An Austrian Citizen Writes to the Chinese Ambassador in Vienna [16.08.2004]

I heard that the major reason for not renewing the passport was because of an accusation that Wang Yong is against the Chinese government. I know Wang Yong well, and I can honestly tell you that he is definitely not against the Chinese government. What he is doing is just appealing to the Chinese government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and for bringing the responsible criminals within the Chinese government to justice.

European Human Rights Organisations Commemorate the Fifteenth Anniversary of the "6.4" Incident and Condemn the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners [08.06.2004]

The infringements of the freedoms of speech, assembly and information are still rampant in China; since the latter half of 1990s, the number of those subjected to labour 're-education' and the death penalty has not decreased. Falun Gong practitioners, followers of Christianity, work union leaders and those who criticise the government on the Internet have been brutally persecuted, the report was cited as saying.

Letter to the Editor: My Beloved Motherland, When Can We Have True Freedom? [05.06.2004]

I called my classmate in China just now, and was told that one of my best friends was imprisoned and eventually tortured to death simply because of practicing Falun Gong. I am not a Falun Gong practitioner, and don't have much knowledge of Falun Gong. But I do know my best friend very well, he was a truly righteous and honest person. I really cannot understand and rationalise why China would even regard having a belief as illegal. I feel really very sorry about it. My beloved motherland, when can we have true freedom?

UK: Some Stories from the Twenty-Four Hour Appeal at the Chinese Embassy in London [02.06.2004]

The twenty-four hour peaceful appeal at the Chinese Embassy in London by UK Dafa practitioners has lasted more than seven hundred days now. During these trying days, we have personally experienced the change in the surrounding environment as our cultivation progresses. The following stories tell the change in people’s hearts after they learnt the facts about Falun Gong and continue to remind us of our honour and responsibility as Dafa practitioners.

Human Rights Are Not Negotiable [21.04.2004]

Due to the pressure from the Chinese Consulate in Toronto, the Toronto city council recently rejected a motion to declare May 13 as Falun Dafa Day. According to a report in the Toronto Star, Councilor Michael Walker said after the vote: "In this case, human rights was susceptible to lobbying by the government of China, which said we might hurt our economic activities with the country of China. I don't think human rights are negotiable."

Jiang Uses the Label of "Politically Motivated" as a Weapon In His Anti-Falun Gong Campaign [18.04.2004]

Jiang's group desperately needs people to confuse the notions of right and wrong, and they have reinforced such twisted confusion with brainwashing so that they can deceive themselves as well as others and poison the minds of the people. Their purpose is to use their power to manipulate the law for their own self-interests, and to crack down on tens of millions of kind-hearted people in mainstream society. It is Jiang's group who are truly ignoring the well-being of the people and they are the ones who are truly jeopardising social stability.

For Years I Have Supported My Wife in Her Practice of Falun Gong [11.04.2004]

I located the Labour Education Committee in Kunming City, and asked them where my wife was being detained. They informed me that if I was not happy with her sentence, I could appeal for reconsideration. I told them that if this was a place with justice, my wife would not have been arrested, where else could I go to appeal? No one there could answer me.

Speech from the International Conference on "Genocide in the New Era": Genocide against Falun Gong in the Context of the Supposedly “Reformed” Chinese Legal System [06.03.2004]

"The crimes of the Chinese Government against the practitioners of Falun Gong are not in dispute. There is no doubt that the vicious and gratuitous violence perpetrated on those who simply speak in favour of the movement or hold up Falun Gong banners, the incarceration, torture and mass murder of Falun Gong adherents, together with the government and media campaign of hatred and vitriol against them, combine to meet the legal definition of “Genocide”. What is difficult for many international observers to reconcile is how this can occur in a country which is described by many influential opinion makers as having made huge and rapid strides in implementing the rule of law."

Due to lies and pressure created by Jiang’s regime, French policemen had treated Falun Gong practitioners in a manner which violated human rights and opposed the founding principles of the French nation.

Lawyers' Open Letter to the Government of France [30.01.2004]

"...we would like to call on the government of France to immediately initiate an investigation of this incident, and to ensure that essential human rights to freedom of association and freedom of belief are fully respected. France has been known as a democratic country with a long-standing history of liberty and freedom. What occurred yesterday brings doubt to the free world that France intends to respect that history."

The Falun Gong Association in France is a legally registered group and it has won the recognition of the French government for peacefully observing and obeying the law in the past four years.

Letter from Dublin Students to the Irish Prime Minister: "Ireland should do all in its power to help bring this absurd persecution to an early end." [30.11.2003]

"The campaign directed at eradicating Falun Gong is a systematic state terrorism and a policy that has drained China's fragile economy. The assurances given in the EU China dialogue over the past few years have changed nothing on the ground; everyday new death cases are being received. The Chinese consulates and officials even continue to spread slanderous material concerning Falun Gong in the hope that this will incite hatred or at least doubt in the minds of overseas politicians. Indeed politicians in Ireland have received such material. Their aim is clear: To justify their campaign against the practice so that they can continue their brutal suppression and genocide while escaping condemnation from the international community."

November 2003

Both Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have pointed out that these illegal acts exist in China.

Various media organisations continued to report on the news for days. Parliamentary members, professors of law and human rights organisations have commented on the issue one after another by condemning this act by the Chinese consulate that disregarded Swedish law and violated a democratic country’s freedom of speech.
