Currently, at least three practitioners have been detained in the Chejiaji Brainwashing Centre, and are undergoing brainwashing and physical torture. Practitioners being held include Ms. Wang Youming, who is nearly 70 years old, and Ms. Song Wenxiu, a retired teacher and elder practitioner. After Wang Youming was subjected to the brainwashing torture, the brainwashing centre still refused to release her, and forced her to divulge the names and home addresses of other practitioners. Ms. Song Wenxiu, nearly 70, was force-fed, and as a result, lost some teeth.

During 2008 and 2009, approximately 300 male Falun Gong practitioners were detained in the Shandong Province Men's Second Forced Labour Camp. The camp guards instructed other inmates to mix unknown drugs into food that was fed to practitioners. The unknown drugs caused symptoms that included headache, dizziness, body numbness, and nosebleed, along with swelling of the face, feet and legs. The prison guards' motives were to destroy the will and spirit of the practitioners and force them to renounce Falun Gong.

Mr. Sun Changjun is one of the eight Falun Gong practitioners that took part in tapping into the Changchun City cable TV network in March 2002 to broadcast videos exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Of those eight practitioners, only two are still alive. Mr. Sun is currently confined to the Aged and Crippled Ward in the Jilin City Prison. The long-term brutal mistreatment has left him with a severe case of tuberculosis, and he is as thin as a skeleton and dying.

Falun Gong practitioner Li Zhigang from Harbin was arrested, together with seven other friends, by the police at his home. He was severely tortured and is now showing symptoms of serious tuberculosis. His genitals are badly infected from the torture and he is being given unknown drugs. The Nangang District Court once notified Mr. Li's family members and his lawyers in Beijing that Li Zhigang would be brought to trial on June 22nd, 2009. However, after the lawyers travelled thousands of miles to get to the court in Harbin, they were told by case officer Song Chengzhang that the authorities (the 610 Office and the Political and Judiciary Committee) had given a last-minute notice saying this was a special case, and the trial was cancelled that day. Mr. Li Zhigang is still detained at the Nangang District Detention Centre.

Between September 6th and October 4th, 2005, six practitioners were detained at the Petrochemical Sanatorium, which is located at Wenquan in Xianning City, Hubei Province. The funds provided for carrying out this persecution was over 300,000 yuan during one month's time. This money came directly from the city financial department. Over fifty people were involved in this persecution.

Mr. Cui Xinghui is a Falun Gong practitioner from Pingshan County in Hebei Province. He is a typical villager, but because he followed the principles of Falun Gong--Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance--trying to be a good person and telling people the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong, he was arrested, had funds extorted from him, was detained in brainwashing centres, was sentenced to forced labour, and was tortured. In the end, he was forced to leave home and live elsewhere.

Ms. Zeng Lingwen, 74, is a highly respected retired professor of physics and a Falun Gong practitioner. Because she practises Falun Gong she was arrested repeatedly and taken to detention centres and forced labour camps. She was recently taken to a police station for additional questioning following a police search of her home. Ms. Zeng has returned home, but the police keep monitoring her. The gross abuse and mistreatment at a forced labour camp is designed to push practitioners to their limit of endurance, physically and mentally, to break practitioners' will and force them to compromise their belief. Practitioners suffered from various tortures including high voltage baton shocks, the death bed, forced feeding, solitary confinement, violent beatings, hanging up, being forced to hold painful postures for long periods of time.

Ms. Wang Huiling went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong in 2000, and was arrested. Ms. Wang was detained in the Harbin City Second Detention Centre. Ms. Wang was tortured at the detention centre, where they forcibly stripped off her clothes, and made her do repetitive sitting squats continuously, and then forced her to sit on the floor in a fixed position where she was not allowed to move. Several days later her family was notified that she had suffered a stroke, and was being sent to the hospital. When her family rushed there, Ms. Wang was unconscious. Over the past nine years Ms. Wang never fully recovered. Despite her condition, the police kept harassing her at home and threatened her and her entire family. Ms. Wang died under this tense environment.

In October 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cheng Wenxian was arrested while he was telling people the facts about Falun Gong in Xuzhou City. He is being detained in Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Zibo City. This is the second time that Mr. Cheng had been detained in a forced labour camp. Previously he was in Dashan Forced Labour Camp in Qingdao City for three years. His family wanted to visit him and take him some clothes when they learned of his arrest, but they were not allowed to see him.

Ms. Ren Zhaoxia was arrested by the local 610 Office and the National Security Brigade. She was sent to Yibin City Detention Centre. This was the fourth time she had been taken away by the authorities for her belief in Falun Gong. Previously, she had been imprisoned for a year in a forced labour camp. Her son, Mr. Chen Xiangru, went to the detention centre to request his mother's release. The Chinese Communist Party officials then tried to arrest him. As a result, he was forced to quit his job and rent a room in Nanxi. On July 20th, 2009, Mr. Chen Xiangru was arrested and detained in the Nanxi Detention Centre. On August 8th, 2009, he died under unknown circumstances. Further details of his death are being investigated.

In June of 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Fengzhen was arrested by Li Fuguo and Wang Min from the National Security Team of the Public Security Bureau in Tanghai County, Hebei Province. She was then sent to Tangshan Ankang Hospital where she received forced injections of unknown medicine. After Ms. Li was disabled by the persecution, she was sent back to her family. In only two months, the once healthy and rational Li Fengzhen basically lost her memory. She became mentally unstable and extremely skinny. She could not see clearly, nor could she stand upright and walk.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Jinghe was arrested on May 8th, 2008 by police from Longjiang County. On June 11th, 2009 he was sentenced to three years in prison. The judge at the Longjiang County Court threatened him, "Don't appeal your case. If you do, your case will be handed back for re-trial and you will receive an extension to your prison term." Nonetheless, seeking justice, Mr. Yu's younger brother filed an appeal with the Intermediate Court of Qiqihar City on August 4th, 2008. Due to unclear facts and inadequate evidence in Mr. Yu's case, the court called off the original judgement and ordered a re-trial at the court where Mr. Yu was originally convicted.

Mr. Yin Sirong, a practitioner from Chengdu city was arrested by police officers from Wanzhou District Public Security Bureau, on July 31st, 2009, while he was at the home of another practitioner in Chongqing city. He has been on hunger strike ever since. At the time when the police submitted an application to send Mr. Yin to a forced labour camp, they also refused his lawyer's request to meet with him, stating that they were still awaiting confirmation that the person arrested was in fact Mr. Yin Sirong. On September 3rd, 2009, Mr. Yin was sentenced to the notorious Xishanping Forced Labour Camp.

Ms. Zhang Yuanru and Ms. Zhang Yuanzhen are sisters from Chengdu City in Sichuan Province. At 10:00 p.m., on August 31st, 2009, they were arrested by officers from the Hongguang Town Police Station and brutally beaten. Both practitioners were kicked with heavy leather shoes, whipped with leather straps, beaten with electric batons, and savagely pinched. In less than 24 hours, their entire bodies were covered in bruises and turned black and blue.

Mr. Zhang Puhe was sentenced to ten years imprisonment by the Chinese Communist regime, and is currently detained and being tortured at Lianjiangkou Prison in Jiamusi City. His life is in imminent danger. Guards ordered him to recite the prison rules. When Mr. Zhang refused, the guards used thirty-thousand volt electric batons to shock him all over his body. They also forbid him from speaking. When Mr. Zhang still refused to recite the prison rules, the guards instigated inmates to beat his face, which swelled and had blue and purple bruises. Mr. Zhang is extremely weak and is on the verge of death.

Written in a textbook entitled "Thoughts and Moral Character," for 2009 Grade 6 students and published by Zhejiang Education Publishing House, there are sections defaming Falun Gong. It not only slanders Falun Gong, but space is left in the textbook to encourage the students to write their own words that attack Falun Gong. It not only threatens that people distributing the leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong will be jailed, but also urges the children to report anyone they see handing out the materials. The main theme is that "studying Zhuan Falun (the main text of Falun Gong) is against the law." This text book requests that schools hold photo exhibitions, discussion meetings, and force students to defame Falun Gong.

In 1999 when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, Mr. Li Zhibiao, a person who had finally been able to live a normal life after being disabled all his life, became the target of the persecution, too. He was arrested four times and brutally mistreated. As a result, he started to frequently fall into a state of sudden unconsciousness. Although he managed to escape from detention the ordeal took its toll on Mr. Li's physical and mental health. He was significantly affected by the terror he experienced during his escape. The police have gone to Mr. Li's workplace to harass him many times since 2006.

In July 2008, Ms. Zhu Baojuan was arrested and then sentenced to five years in prison, for her belief in Falun Gong. While imprisoned at the Jinzhou City Second Detention Centre, two large tumours developed in her uterus and she also had a relapse of severe heart disease, which had been cured through practising Falun Gong. She lost consciousness three times due to torture, and she was not able to walk. On September 3rd, Ms. Zhu's husband and three other family members came to visit her. She was not able to walk. When they asked her what happened, she said, "When the police took me to the Jinzhou City Second Detention Centre, the cell's door was only half open. I was not able to get in. The police kicked me three times with full strength. I have not been able to walk since then."

After Mr. Jiang Xiqing from Jiangjin, Chongqing City, was persecuted to death in Xishanping Forced Labour Camp, his daughter, Jiang Hong, sought justice through legal means. Officials in the Politics and Law Committee and the 610 Office in Jiangjin did not want to be exposed further, so they orchestrated the arrest of Ms. Jiang. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Seven hours after being notified of his death, his family found his body still warm in the freezer. Labour camp officials did not give any reasonable explanation for his death and had his body cremated without his family's consent.

Ms. Xu Xianping, 43, has been a Falun Gong practitioner since 1996. In April 2002, Xu Xianping was arrested and her home was searched. Later, she was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. In the Harbin Women's Prison, Xu Xianping was tortured with solitary confinement, hung up, beaten, and forced to sit on a cold cement floor for eleven days. In spite of the serious scurvy caused by the torture, she was not released until 2006. On August 7th, 2009, she was reported to the police for having talked with people about the persecution of Falun Gong and arrested. Xu Xianping is currently being detained at the No. 2 Detention Centre of Hegang City.

oOn July 6th, 2009, Shi Xiuyan was posting messages regarding the persecution of Falun Gong near a bank in the west part of Fengrun city, when she was suddenly abducted by policemen. Li Chunyuan, vice director of the Fengrun Public Security Bureau led six or seven policemen and ransacked her home. They confiscated her printer, computer, Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. She was detained at the Fengrun Detention Centre and subsequently given a two-year sentence in a forced labour camp. On August 4th, 2009, she was secretly taken to the Tangshan Kaiping Labour Camp.

On September 12th, 2008, more than 30 plainclothes police officers arrived in eight police cars at the Dianshi Computer School in Wuhan City. They damaged huge amounts of property and took away many computers and other valuable items. All the employees of the Dianshi Computer School were arrested and their residences were also ransacked. A few hours before, the police had stormed into the residence of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Yingxia, the principal and legal representative of the computer school, and taken her away. Ms. Shi was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. She is now in the Wuhan City Women's Prison.

53-year-old Ms. Wang Huilan was arrested on September 1st, 2009 by Zhuozhou City Domestic Security agents. On September 7th, her family went to visit her, but they were not allowed to see her. That afternoon, the guards brutally force-fed her, causing her death. Details of Ms. Wang Huilan's death following her recent arrest are still under investigation.

Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Meng Yuhua's parents received a call from the Liaoning Province Women's Prison on August 24th notifying them to visit their daughter because she was in critical condition. When they went to the prison, one prison guard told them that Dr. Meng was in critical condition because she suffered from a severe potassium deficiency and that Dr. Meng had refused injections or any other medication, and that she had signed a release so that the prison would not be held accountable. A prison guard told them that she would not be released even if she died, because she refused to plead guilty, and that she would have to serve forced labour.

After July 20th, 1999, when the government's persecution of Falun Gong began, I was arrested by officers many times, and sent to a forced labour camp and inhumanly tortured. The fourth time they arrested me was in June 2004. When eight other practitioners and I were in a fellow practitioner's home, we were arrested by police and held in a detention centre. Zhang Wei, the assistant warden, rushed into the cell and was very angry. He said his name had been posted on the persecutor's person's list on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. He thought that I was the one who had leaked his name, and he started to beat and kick me until I fell down. My head and many parts of my body were black and blue with bruises. Combined with old and new injures, I was in agony, had excruciating pain, and was not able to get up for a long time.

Beijing Falun Gong practitioner Cao Dong met with the Vice President of the European Parliament Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott on May 21st, 2006 to rescue his imprisoned wife Yang Xiaojing. He told Mr. McMillan-Scott of the severe persecution that he, his wife and other Falun Gong practitioners he knew had experienced. Two hours after the meeting, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents from the State Security Bureau arrested Cao Dong. He was sentenced to five years of imprisonment on February 8th, 2007, and is currently detained in Tianshui Prison in Gansu Province. In August 2007, Cao Dong's friend, musician Yu Zhou, contacted lawyers for help. Soon afterwards Yu Zhou was arrested. He was persecuted to death on February 6th, 2008.

Before practising Falun Gong, Ms. Liu Daju, 56, was sentenced to seven years in prison. Ms. Liu Daju recounts the persecution she endured: "I talked about the goodness of Falun Gong to the prison guards but they did not listen. They hung me up on the window frame of the toilet and opened the window, exposing me to the bitter cold winter wind, more than ten degrees below zero. My whole body became swollen and the handcuffs cut deep into my flesh. My wrists were so swollen that the handcuffs were not even visible. I was hung there for 15 days. When the guards unlocked the handcuffs, I was unable to move my hand and fell down in the filth of the open-pit toilet. I could not bring my hands down, which were stuck to my back."

I have been cultivating Falun Gong and following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance for 13 years, and have never wavered in my faith in all that time. Since the open suppression and persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started on July 20th, 1999, the police have used deceitful methods eight times in order to gain entry to my home, confiscate my property, and arrest me. I was sentenced in Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp, Beijing to a term of one and a half years; then I was sentenced to 3 years in the Chadian Qianjin Prison of Tianjin City. In 2008, before the Olympics, I was arrested again and sentenced to two and a half years in a labour camp. The term was served outside of the labour camp because I was over 75.

Veteran Falun Gong practitioners Ms. He Tao, a retired doctor from Northeast University Medical Hospital, and Ms. Mao Juan, a retired worker from Shenyang Railway Bureau, were both very healthy and kind. On August 10th, 2009, they and their friends Liu Ping and Zhang Huilan, were arrested by police in Shenyang City, while they were resting in a corn field in the Zaohua Town area. At present, no one knows where they all are, and the family members are extremely worried.

I was arrested in 2008. The police assigned other inmates to monitor practitioners. Practitioners are even forbidden to stand by the cell door and converse with anyone except their personal spy or to respond to any questions. Every day, the inmates monitor and report the practitioners' every word and deed to the police. In order to find out practitioners' states of mind and weaknesses to thereby better control them, the police usually have a "conversation" with practitioners on the first few days after their arrest. They then use deception and other means to "transform" practitioners by targeting their weaknesses.

In March 2005, 58-year old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shufen was subjected to three years of forced labour, and she was then sent to Masanjia Labour Camp. For practising Falun Gong, she was brutally tortured including forced sitting on a small stool, death bed, the "big hang-up" and others. In April 2006, Ma Jishan (education section head) and Liu Yong (security section head) came to Division 2 with more than 20 male guards to persecute practitioners who refused to do the hard labour. Guards beat Ms. Wang Shufen brutally. They dragged her up and down, and forced her to kneel down in front of them. Ms. Wang Shufen refused and Zhang Jun became angry. He beat her severely until she lost consciousness.

On July 21st, 2009, was arrested when he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He was sent to the Shili Detention Centre. One week after he was detained, he went on a hunger strike to protest the unjust persecution. The detention centre guards began to force feed Mr. Lu. They inserted a plastic tube from his nose to his stomach while handcuffing his hands behind his back, with one hand pulled back from his shoulder to his back. They left the plastic tube in Mr. Lu after the forced feeding and spread his arms and feet fully outwards before tying them down to a plank bed with handcuffs and shackles. After two days and one night, Mr. Lu began to vomit blood. When the doctor removed the plastic tube, they found that Mr. Lu's oesophagus and stomach were full of blood.

Ms. Zhang Ziqin, 53, and her husband Mr. Luo Zhenggui live in Pule Village in Sichuan Province. Because they firmly believe in Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong), their whole family has been repeatedly persecuted for the past 10 years. This couple has been sentenced and sent to Guangyuan Prison and Jianyang Prison. After they were released, they could not live a normal life and suffered the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution several times. In order to avoid persecution, they were forced to leave home.

On September 2nd, 2009, the Qingyang District Court in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province held a trial against Mr. Li Yonghong, Mr. Yu Bin, and Ms. Xu Li. Mr. Li and Mr. Yu pleaded innocence. They exposed the mistreatment they had suffered since they were arrested in August of last year, such as extortion of a "confession," beating (two teeth of Mr. Li were knocked out), sleep deprivation for six days and nights and more. The court, however, sentenced the three practitioners to between two and three and one half years in prison. The trial was originally scheduled for September 4th, but was pushed forward by two days to avoid public attention.

On August 19th, 2009, more than a dozen police officers broke into Ms. Li Juhua's home, searched it and arrested her. The family went to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Centre, the Women's Detention Centre, the Women's Prison as well as several brainwashing centres in Wuhan City in an attempt to find Ms. Li, but with no success. Ms. Li was being held at the Erdaopeng Brainwashing Centre. On September 2nd, Ms. Li's family received the news that, "Li Juhua is 'sick' in the centre". Ms. Li's daughter went to the brainwashing centre and was not allowed to visit her mother.

Due to her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Ms. Wang Lili was persecuted and abused by the Communist authorities many times over the past ten years. Ms. Wang has been detained at the Jilin Women's Forced Labour Camp twice. She was also detained at several different detention centres and at the Jingyuetan secret torture facility. The police have severely beat her and used electric batons to torture her. She was also subjected to torture methods called "big hang-up" and "stretching torture" among others. During the tortures, her rib was fractured, and as a result of the abuse, she developed a kidney haemorrhage and protrusion of the lumbar inter-vertebral discs. Wang Lili was nearly disabled, but the authorities still refused to release her.

Lin Weijia is six years old. In April of 2009, his mother, Yin Qi, his maternal grandmother and his maternal grandfather were arrested by police in Zhuhai City because they practised Falun Gong and followed the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They have been kept in custody at Doumen No. 2 Detention Centre. Weijia used to be a very happy child. When he would come home from kindergarten he would happily follow his mother around. When Wei Jia lost his mother it was devastating to him! He misses his mother so much, but instead of crying, Wei Jia just sits there quietly for a long time, motionless. Sometimes he asks, "Will my mother come back to see me when I die?"

Mr. Yang Jinmiao, 70, was reported by the Yangjing Neighbourhood Night Patrol Team when he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong on June 4th, 2008. He was arrested and taken to the Yangjing Police Station. Mr. Yang's daughter, Ms. Yang Hairong, who happened to be home, was also arrested. Ms. Yang was sent to the brainwashing centre, where she was held until the Olympic Games were over. She was tortured her with sleep deprivation for five consecutive nights. On February 11th, 2009, the Pudong New Area Court held a public hearing of Mr. Yang and Ms. Yang's cases and sentenced them to a three-and-half-year term, despite their defence lawyers' pleas of not guilty of any crime.

Hoping to rescue his wife Ms. Yang Xiaojing, on May 21st, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cao Dong met with European Parliament Vice President Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott in Beijing. Mr. Cao informed Mr. McMillan-Scott of the brutal persecution suffered by himself and his wife. Two hours after the meeting, Chinese Communist regime security agents arrested Mr. Cao. Mr. Cao was sentenced to five years of imprisonment on February 8th, 2007. In August 2006 his wife, Ms. Yang was released after being abused at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp. In July 2008 she was found to have lymphoma. She has sought help in making her voice known to the public, but Communist regime agents have been threatening her.

Mr. Jiang Xiqing was persecuted to death in Xishanping Forced Labour Camp. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Seven hours after being notified of his death, his family found his body still warm in the freezer. Labour camp officials did not give any reasonable explanation for his death and had his body cremated without his family's consent. His daughter, Jiang Hong, sought justice through legal means. Officials in the Politics and Law Committee and the 610 Office did not want to be exposed further, so they orchestrated the arrest of Ms. Jiang.

Mr. Peng Guangrong, 61, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong after the persecution started in 1999 and was arrested by police and detained. He was taken to a Brainwashing Centre. He was mistreated in the centre, and the local officials withheld his disability-retirement fund. He was detained until his health had deteriorated badly and he had lost a lot of weight. He was released only after his family demanded his release. After his return, Wang Qiujun constantly sent people to his house to harass him. Mr. Peng died in October, 2003.

Ms. Dong Fuyun, who is in her seventies was arrested in 2002 and taken to the Yuyuan Hotel Brainwashing Centre in Changde City. In 2005, she was arrested again while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held at a brainwashing centre and was brutally tortured. On December 4th, 2005, shortly after she was released from the brainwashing centre for the second time, she mysteriously disappeared early that morning. The neighbours noticed that her door had been left ajar and that everything inside was turned upside down, yet she was nowhere to be found. Although her son and daughter have spent the last four years looking for their mother, they haven't been any closer to finding her.

Ms. Zhang Yuhua, 63, had been detained four times, and she lost sight in her left eye while detained in 2003 as a result of the guards beating her. Her feet and legs were covered with bruises as a result of being kicked by guards, and these injuries caused a degenerative condition to develop in her knees. Ms. Zhang wrote many appeal letters to the Suining City Government, the Police Department and the Sichuan Province Police Department. The answer that she finally received was "the guards never beat prisoners." She eventually died on August 13th, 2009, deeply grieved.

Mr. Jiang Bingzhi was persecuted to death in the Suihua Forced Labour Camp because of his refusal to give up Falun Gong. One day, a prison guard opened the door of Mr. Jiang's confinement cell and threw two handbags into the cell. His personal monitors covered Mr. Jiang's head with the bags, strangled him with a rope and started to beat him cruelly. Due to the suffocation and the cruel beating, Mr. Jiang went into a vegetative state during the torture. The labour camp kept Mr. Jiang in the labour camp for several days before he was sent to the Bei'an City Hospital. Mr. Jiang died in the hospital on August 26th, 2009, and his body was cremated.

On October 31st, 2001, I opened a banner on Tiananmen Square that read "Falun Gong is good". I was arrested and transferred to Miyun Detention Centre. One policeman slapped me very hard for a long time (the marks on my face did not fade for ten days). He stripped my clothes until I was in my underwear and began savagely beating me, I was quickly beaten to the ground and passed out. Policemen stepped on my fingers, and took turns pressing on my eye sockets. My life was hanging by a thread. The jail cell mates told me that I looked dead to them. They used a pungent gas to wake me up and took me back to the jail cell. By that time, it was 4 a.m.

Between 20 and 30 police officers arrested lawyer Wang Yonghang at his home in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, on July 4th, 2009, and subsequently beat him until the bones in his right foot were fractured. Mr. Wang had defended Falun Gong practitioner Cong Rixu in court. The lawyer's family is demanding his immediate release, but the authorities claim this case involves "state secrets" and refuse to allow Mr. Wang and his family to meet.

A former United Nations Special Rapporteurs on Torture, Sir Nigel Rodley specifically mentioned the following practitioners: "Kuang Bencui, from Jiaozhou city, Shandong Province, reportedly went to Beijing. Officials arrested her on her way to Tiananmen Square. She was sent to the Jiaozhou Liaison Office in Beijing and then to the Jiaozhou city mental hospital. While there, she was reportedly forced to take medicine and injections. When she refused, two men allegedly seized her arms, pinched her nose and drove a chopstick between her teeth, to force-feed her with unknown substances. She was reportedly force-fed three times a day, the dosage being increased from one tablet at a time to six tablets at a time."

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Mu Yuru is a resident of Qinhuangdao City in Hebei Province. During the past ten years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party, Ms. Mu has been detained in detention centres and labour camps, and subjected to brutal torture including, but not limited to, being brutally beaten, shocked with electric batons, put on the "tiger bench", handcuffed with her arms behind her back, locked up in small cells and suspended in the air by her cuffed hands.

Mr. Lei Zhiyong was a teacher at the No.1 High School in Lanshan City, Hunan Province. During the past ten years of the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), he has been arrested six times and sentenced to six years in prison. During his imprisonment, Mr. Lei was tortured, including injection with unknown pharmaceuticals, sleep deprivation, and forced feedings. He has been released from prison but is not allowed to return to his teaching position.

On July 20th, 2009, six policemen arrived in two cars, and broke into Mr. Jin Bowen's workplace and attempted to arrest him. At that time, Jin was taking time off at home, so police officers ordered his manager to call him back to work. The police then forcibly arrested him and took him to the Domestic Security Brigade in Linghai City Police Bureau. The next day, police officers ransacked Jin's home. They confiscated his computer, Falun Gong books and a large number of his personal belongings. The police have sent the so-called "case" to their local court. Mr. Jin is currently detained at Linghai City Detention Centre.
