It was claimed that the scenes of pigs and chickens feeding took place at the residence of Zhang Dianguo, and this was used to illustrate the "dramatic change" that came over him after he stopped practicing Falun Gong. It can be said that the television station personnel, in order to fulfill the task handed down by their superiors, which was to fabricate propaganda to slander Falun Gong, had used many deceptive means. The "news" of "passing off a sweet potato as a potato" by the Liaoning TV Central TV stations was ridiculous and far-fetched. This incident caused quite a stir among the local residents.

While making phone calls to a police station in an area where the persecution of Falun Gong was still running rampant, we came to learn how eager the police were to learn the truth about Falun Gong. They had direct contact with Falun Gong practitioners and they know clearly that practitioners are all good people. However, they were fed with lies and hatred, and were forced to choose between making a living and maintaining their conscience. How many people are lost in this process, forced to become tools used by Jiang's regime to persecute practitioners?

As soon as we finished putting up the information, a forty-year-old man walked up and carefully read the truth clarifying material. We went over to him because we saw that he was earnestly reading what we had posted. The man said, "This is very good, and very reasonable. I'd like to take this material back to show my neighbourhood. I want them to know Falun Dafa is good, and the propaganda on TV is false. The government doesn't punish the bad people; they don't punish people for corruption, depravity, prostitution or gambling, but they persecute Falun Gong."

One day in 1997, a Falun Gong practitioner told my wife that Falun Gong could cure her illness and keep her fit. My wife thought it was worth a try and began to practice Falun Gong. It was miraculous. Within several months her many diseases disappeared. She has continued the practice to this day. In July 1997, the government placed a ban on Falun Gong, and forbade the practice. On December 17, 2000, the Beijing Police Department detained my wife Yang Yuzhen because she went to Beijing to clarify the truth, to say a word of justice, and to show that Falun Dafa is great.

At the end of the year, an institution held a big employee meeting to evaluate and choose outstanding workers. Before the ballot, the boss first wanted to ask employees to recommend a person who could monitor the ballots. Right after the boss's voice trailed off, a female employee yelled out: "Let's choose a person who practises Falun Gong! They are not selfish, we can trust them." Her suggestion immediately received unanimous support from all the employees.

Due to lack of understanding of Falun Gong, when I was first imprisoned I even slapped a Dafa practitioner's face. Due to slander from the television programs I felt that all Falun Gong practitioners were bad people. However, once I had personal contact with them, I gradually realised that they were all very kind people. There were lots of mosquitoes during summer but they never killed any mosquitoes. They told me that even a mosquito was a life and that they did not kill anything.

On the first day of the New Year, some national security agents and police officials (non-practitioners) from Beijing, Liaoning, Shandong, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing and some agents working overseas sent their New Year's greetings to Mr. Li Hongzhi and expressed their respect to Master Li Hongzhi.

One day, I shared a cab with my co-worker. While I was clarifying the truth to him, the taxi driver was also quietly listening in. We talked about the staged "self-immolation" and Jiang's political gang's persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. After my co-worker listened for awhile, he asked me what the deal was with those murder cases that are shown on TV. At that moment, the taxi driver suddenly spoke up, "Those things from the Party are all lies. Dafa practitioners are all kind people."

"Nothing on the TV is true. Those who have a lot of money and join the Party are not doing a solid days' work. Those who do solid work cannot earn enough money and cannot join the Party. I have seen Falun Gong before. They helped old men and women practise Falun Gong to gain good health. But it is not allowed now. If you practise Falun Gong, the people in power will arrest you. This Party is finished! They keep persecuting good people."

During the course of explaining the facts about the persecution, I was pleasantly surprised to discover enormous changes within people's hearts since the year 2001. Back then, many people were misled by the deceitful lies designed to frame Falun Gong, particularly the so-called "Tiananmen Self-Immolation" incident. Whenever I brought up the true situation of Falun Gong, people refused to listen at first. Today, the situation has been reversed.

A vice director from a National Security Bureau at a certain city said to a Falun Dafa practitioner detained there: "Both my father and I practised Falun Gong in the past. I know that is truly good, but after it was banned I stopped practising. When I saw that so many practitioners were arrested, I felt miserable. I have no power to release you. Authorities from the departmental and provincial government are here. All I can do is to reduce your suffering within the limits of my responsibilities, take good care of you, and to say something good about you."

The Jiang regime is most afraid of people knowing the truth about Falun Dafa, because the persecution has always been based on lies. The main book of Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun is banned in China. Yet everyone who reads it finds it to be a very profound book which guides people towards goodness. Once people have read Zhuan Falun, they can also clearly see the massive scale of the lies spread by the Jiang regime.

"I did not check my mail box for a while, and today I received two letters regarding Falun Gong's stories when I checked. I was in tears while reading the letters, I hope all of you are well and safe."

More than a month later, he called his younger sister and told her excitedly that his vision and hearing were restored! He used to have to take a lot of medicine every day causing his body to feel very heavy. Now his body felt as light as a feather without any medicine at all. Because of his choice to genuinely cultivate in Dafa, there was such a big change in his life.

My husband has become more and more supportive. A few days before July 20th 2003, we were taking a walk after dinner. I told him that I needed to attend some activities. He looked at me and said: "It has been four years. It is time to end the persecution." He then held my hands...

"If you ask me, I would say that the persecution of Falun Gong is Jiang's Waterloo. Why? There are so many serious crises happening today in China, yet he doesn't care. Why did he get so obsessed with fighting against Falun Gong? Many Falun Gong practitioners are elderly people. They are not interfering with anybody. People should be free to decide whether they want to practise it or not. Why would he persecute those practitioners? If he has time, why doesn't he work on those corrupt governmental officials!"

My supervisor said to me, "I have watched the VCDs and read the truth-clarification materials that you gave to me. It seems that you Falun Gong practitioners are very capable. The VCDs that you make are very good. After watching it, I understand that the TV programs produced by Jiang are lies. Jiang is despicable. He specialises in persecuting common people and he is bringing the whole nation down."

"Last year you gave us the exercise-introduction VCD. My wife and I learned from it and have been doing the exercises everyday. Now, my lower back and my legs don't feel pain anymore. I can also look after my son's child. Previously, because I suffered from illnesses, I brought lots of troubles to my son and his wife. Now, it is me who is helping them. I even took my granddaughter to attend this year's kite show and enjoyed the performances."

I said, "You are clear-minded. I am so happy for you. Do you know that Jiang is facing a lawsuit in the U.S.?" He said, "I know. I often receive flyers and VCDs from you. How could I not know? We talk about it too. See, Jiang didn't do anything good for the people after he came into power; he just bullied us. He should have stepped down a long time ago."

A friend of this veteran cadre suffered hepatitis and several other diseases and he could not afford the medical bills. Under the desperate situation, he tried to practice Falun Gong and regained complete health after practising. As a result, his whole family started practicing Falun Gong. After July 20, 1999, they could not accept the slander against Dafa by CCTV and went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. This friend was detained for more than six months and fined more than 10,000 Yuan for his appeal. Since then, whenever it was a holiday or so-called sensitive dates, this veteran cadre worried about the safety of the friend and his family.

One Sunday I was on duty at work. A person came into the room and chatted with me. As I just started to tell him the truth about Falun Gong, he interrupted me, "You don't have to tell me, I know, Falun Gong is absolutely innocent."

One day when I rode his bus, I saw many vegetable vendors along the road, so I tossed some flyers towards them. While the bus driver sped up to leave, I looked back and saw them picking up the flyers. Since then, he always slows down the bus for me so I can spread the materials and then speeds up when I'm done. He often kindly reminds me to be careful.

An elderly person is the party secretary of a town in the Northeast. In 2002 the town held a meeting involving top-level officials to further carry out the Jiang regime's orders to persecute Falun Gong. Because these orders were issued so frequently and were so offensive to people's kind side, the party secretary proclaimed, "Jiang wants to arrest Falun Gong practitioners, but he doesn't do it himself. He wants us to do this for him. We don't have the time. We don't even have time to finish our usual tasks."

I feel the evil factors are indeed very few and feel much less pressure now in chat rooms. Many Internet spies are actually the ones who know the truth. We should expose them right after encountering them in the Internet and suppress them with righteous thoughts simultaneously. The evil is most afraid of being exposed, even in the chat room.

A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practise again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

"Ms. Wang, thank you so much for you're bringing me the chance to discover and practice Falun Dafa. I wish more and more other lost ones may see the light (like I did) and find the path a bright and healthy world! I am fortunate and blessed to live in a free country so I can declare loudly without any fear, "I want to learn and practice Falun Dafa!""

A clerk with the government of a small town has often been sent to guard illegally-arrested Falun Gong practitioners. Many of his relatives and friends practice Falun Gong and have clarified the truth about Falun Gong to him, so he knows that Jiang's regime is persecuting good people. Every time he was put on duty to guard Falun Dafa practitioners, he would treat them nicely, give them food and water and secretly tell them that his relatives and friends also practice Falun Gong.

They looked like they had nothing better to do than bullying good people. I asked them: 'Why are you always pestering C? He is a good person. He never cheats or hurts anybody. Why do you keep harassing him just because he practises Falun Gong?' The two became red in the face and left. Ever since then, those people don't dare to come into the store to look for you anymore. Now they just peek from outside the door."

One day I visited two retired cadres to clarify the truth to them. I talked to them about how Falun Gong teaches people to better themselves as well as the wonderful health benefits that come with the practise. I shared with them the wonderful improvements in mind and body that I have experienced myself. I also told them how Jiang Zemin persecutes Falun Gong and is now being sued forgenocide in an American court. As we chatted, I clarified the truth from one issue to another. After listening they both said: "Falun Gong is so great, we'll start practicing today!"

A 4-year-old watched a truth-clarification video about the staged self-immolation in Tiananmen Square, and then told his preschool teacher, "The police beat Falun Gong practitioners. Those policemen are bad people." He then demonstrated the sitting position to other children in the same school. Another time he even requested to go to the countryside with Dafa practitioners to pass out truth clarifying materials. He helped place materials door by door.

Mr. Wang, I spoke in one of the meetings about Falun Gong and criticised Dafa. Because of the situation I was deceived and was forced to do so. I really did not know how serious the results could be. Now I greatly regret my actions! Please excuse me!" Mr. Wang told him, "It is not too late to make amends! Please keep 'Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance' in your heart! Always remember that 'Falun Dafa is good!'"

Practitioner Huizhen herself went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa. Her husband, Police Officer Chen, personally participated in her arrest and showed no mercy, even to his wife. After a period of kind and patient explanations, Chen's attitude toward Dafa completely changed. Now he fully supports his wife's Falun Gong practice. In the evening he accompanies his wife to paste up signs that clarify the truth and hand out flyers.

There is an employee of a certain hotel in China, a Falun Gong practitioner who works hard according to the high standards of Truthfulness -- Compassion -- Forbearance. Her manager appreciates that Falun Dafa teaches people to behave well and that practitioners are good people. Many times the county "610 Office" personnel have harassed the hotel unreasonably with fines because of having a practitioner working there.

Once a department store executives gave tests to identify younger executives for promotion. One of the managers passed all the professional tests, but failed the political one, the reason being the political test focused on Falun Gong and he knew the truth about Falun Gong. Facing the great potential for personal gain, after careful consideration, this young manager decided to choose justice and conscience. He chose to support Dafa, which meant he would have to give up the promotion. Though his director tried to persuade him several times, he insisted on his position.

He gave the CDs to the families with VCD players, and the cassettes to families with a cassette player. For those who didn't have these electronic appliances, he would simply give them a pamphlet. When he went out, his pocket would be full of Dafa materials. This elderly man close to 70 does the work so conscientiously, it even makes me feel ashamed in this respect.

Many households in the village received these truth-clarification programs. Some people who could not receive the signals climbed on the roofs of their houses to adjust their antennas. Now, most people in the village understand the truth of Dafa and the persecution.

Since July 20, 1999, there have been around 30 to 40 Falun Gong practitioners in a certain village in China who have been improving themselves diligently though studying the Fa and following the Fa closely. As a result, most people within the village have come to understand the truth about Falun Gong. Some people have even started to practise Falun Gong. Officers from the 610 Office who had previously persecuted practitioners have learned the truth and become supportive and are now protecting practitioners. Some have even started to study Falun Gong.

When I finished the day's work at the office, I stopped by my boss's office. After some small talk, we switched to Falun Gong. I said to him that it was important to handle the Falun Gong issue appropriately. In reply he said: "I know Falun Gong is good. Otherwise, why would so many people Practise it? Jiang tried to ban it and crackdown on it, but people continue to Practise."

"I feel it was my good fortune to get acquainted with you. I believe you will be free in the end and all of your suffering and tribulations will become a part of history...I hope that you will soon have your freedom. You will succeed in the end. I am truly delighted to have gotten to know you. I have also learned how to be a good person according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

Once, when an elderly female practitioner spoke to her about how wonderful it was that Falun Dafa was being spread so widely in the world, and of the urgent need to make materials to clarify the facts, Xinzhu took out all of her savings from her little piggy bank, and said calmly and firmly, "This is my savings from my New Year's gifts, and the small amount of money that I have been saving through the years. Please use this money to make truth-clarifying materials to enable more people to wake up."

A little girl around seven or eight years old was shopping in a store run by a Falun Gong practitioner. The practitioner asked, "Have you ever heard of Falun Gong?" "Yes!" she replied. "You must have learned about it from TV," said the practitioner. The little girl repeatedly waved her hand and said, "Don' talk about TV. Nothing it shows is true!" She then started clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to that practitioner. She even mentioned the staged "Tiananmen self-immolation" incident and brought up the questionable points and loopholes.

When talking about Falun Gong, he said, "There are so many people practising Falun Gong, and they don' give up even under such a brutal persecution. There must be some reason for this." He asked me for a copy of Zhuan Falun to read. After he finished reading it, he said, "There is nothing wrong with practise of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. There is nothing in the book that has anything to do with "murder" or "self-immolation" as claimed on national TV. All the teachings ask people to be good. Jiang is truly bad!"

A woman who owned a small leather bag shop said to me, "Your parade is great! It's so outstanding and orderly. It seems as if your group is endlessly long. I know some of you have come from Australia and Europe. It's not easy for you to come all this way!" She said while taking a flyer from me, "Actually, I'm against the persecution. Look how peaceful Falun Gong is." Hearing this, I felt truly happy for her support towards Falun Dafa.

There is a couple who work in a factory in Hubei Province; the husband is the security guard for the factory, and the wife is a janitor. They heard and believed the slanderous propaganda against Falun Gong that was broadcast on television. They frequently trailed and monitored Falun Dafa practitioners who entered or exited the work unit and they would then report them to the police. Later, after the Dafa practitioners shared with them the truth about Falun Gong, they changed their attitude. They no longer said bad things about Dafa, and even spoke up and defended Falun Gong.

The Chinese Vice Health Minister Gao Qiang declared that SARS had begun to be effectively controlled in mainland China during a press conference on May 30, 2003. He also made excuses for former Health Minister Zhang Wenkang, claiming that his declaring the epidemic under control was not intentionally hiding the facts, and his being removed as Minister was not a result of the cover-up...

On May 8th and 9th, an electric power company truck was observed displaying an eye-catching poster that read: "Falun Dafa is good". As the truck made its way from downtown to the village's work zone, the employees inside the truck all shouted loudly: "Falun Dafa is good! What is said is quite right! Good stuff!". Although the driver and the other passengers weren't practitioners, pedestrians all the same were eager and excited to see them. Dafa practitioners were so happy for the people who had awakened to the true facts about Falun Dafa.

During the time of his detention, aside from when they were force-feeding him, as long as he had freedom, he would fold up both his legs, and never take a break. When he was being force-fed, no matter how much pain he was in, or how much he was bleeding, or how badly the force-feeding damaged his throat, he didn't even say a word. His faith was steadfast and unshakable, like diamond. People surrounding him would only feel his all-encompassing forbearance.

I clarified the truth to her many times, but she refused to discuss the topic and sometimes her words were very harsh. Earlier this year, she went to Canada to make a film. Upon returning, she told me about Dafa practitioners in front of a Chinese consulate in Canada. She said, "Falun Gong is really amazing there! There were even exhibit boards placed around the consulate." This occurrence caused her to gradually changed her attitude towards Falun Dafa.

Because of the spreading of SARS, some students have relatives and friends working in hospitals or studying in universities. They already knew that a number of people had died from SARS and some people that had caught the SARS virus were not quarantined. They understood that instead of reporting the facts, the local newspaper lied, saying that not a single case of SARS had been found in the local area. Using this as a starting point, I revealed the deceitful character of China's media system, and then brought up the topic of the persecution of Falun Gong.
