A policeman dragged me by my hair from the conference room all the way to the office. A bunch of my hair was torn out and I collapsed to the floor. One police officer tried to stop the beating, and a group of male drug abusers in the cells across the hallway shouted, "Stop beating Falun Gong practitioners! They are all good people, Falun Dafa is good!" Chief Liu was scared and immediately left. Since then no one has called any meetings to slander Dafa

When a policeman went to the home of a practitioner's relative to arrest him, the relative was irritated and told the police: "Falun Gong practitioners are not bad people. You only arrest those good and you just leave the bad people alone. The world is turning corrupt." The relative protected the practitioner and helped to print truth materials to expose the evil persecution.

After we told him why we had come and then tried to give him two thousand Yuan to cover his medical expenses, the smile on the old man's face disappeared. He said, "You young people are hard to handle these days. Look, am I not completely fine? Why should I need any treatment? I can accept this fruit to show my appreciation for your kind heart. After that there is no need to talk about this again. You two may stay here to have dinner with us and we will be friends from now on."

After the Dafa practitioner went back to look at some more materials, he sincerely told the official, "Last time I was not clear about this issue myself, but now I have come to understand it. Here is some related material that explains the facts more clearly than I did." The Dafa practitioner's honesty about his own shortcomings earned the respect of the official. The official carefully reconsidered his point of view. The change in the official also promoted a change in his stubborn wife. Now they both understand the truth and have started to tell other people about the true situation of Falun Dafa; they've even started to read Dafa books.

Practitioner A was bringing many Falun Dafa books and pieces of literature back to his hometown by train. At an entrance, he saw three policemen checking everyone's luggage. He thought to himself: I am doing the most righteous thing, nobody can interfere with me or stop what I am doing. When practitioner A's luggage was about to be checked, a passenger suddenly grabbed one of the police officers and said: "Long time no see, we finally bump into one another here." This scene attracted the attention of the other two policemen. So practitioner A went right through the entrance without being searched.

As Falun Gong practitioners, we are supposed to cherish every piece of truth-clarification material. Our compassion to the people in the world, our mind and our performance reflect the truth. The precious materials are the product of the practitioners' hard work; the materials tell the people of Teacher's compassion; the materials display the mighty virtue of Falun Dafa and the practitioners' righteous minds; the materials help the people understand the truth, be saved from lies and have a wonderful future.

The County Chief listened to the practitioner and took the official from the "610 Office" on a wild goose chase. He took the official to a locked up house and told the official, "The owner of the house practises Falun Dafa but he is not home." He also kept taking the official to different places where he knew that no practitioners would be. The official ended up not leaving without having obtained any guarantee statements at all.

Since July 20, 1999, my son and I have been detained for revealing the true situation of Falun Gong. We were "re-educated" through forced labour for a period of three years. Because of this my husband withstood a lot, both spiritually and financially. In the beginning he didn’t have a clear understanding, and even had a small hatred towards Falun Dafa, but later he gradually distinguished between what is right and wrong and that between the righteous and the evil. He not only admires the great actions of Falun Dafa practitioners, but he also started to be proud of being part of a family that has Falun Dafa practitioners.

The train stopped at a station and a sixty-some year-old lady walked in. I quickly gave her my seat. She was touched by my action and so I took the chance to tell her that I am a Falun Gong practitioner. On hearing this, two ladies sitting close by showed interest and quickly asked me to sit next to them. They asked me questions about the things shown on TV, and I answered them one by one. After listening to what I had to say, they concluded that the Chinese media nowadays simply tell lies to deceive people and that they would not be so easily fooled next time.

A government official whose job is to "educate" practitioners (meaning to use any means necessary to make practitioners give up their belief in Dafa) came to talk to me. We went to a place to have a chat and he said, "I know a little about your practise. I have never tried to force you to stop practising Falun Gong. You wouldn't encounter any interference if you were outside of China." When we said goodbye to each other, he said, "I have been doing this job for several years, and I have never met a single Dafa practitioner who is a bad person. They are all good people."

She came from China in order to visit me and had originally planned to convince me to stop practising Falun Gong during her visit. After she arrived, she learnt the truth about Falun Dafa, and soon discovered that all the Dafa practitioners she met are kind people. As a result, she decided to find out what the Falun Dafa books really contain.

On May 11, 2003, from 11:50 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., a Falun Dafa truth-clarifying broadcast was heard coming from the area around Pengxi County Detention Centre in Suining City, Sichuan Province. The sound could be heard throughout one third of the county. During the night, the news about the lawsuit against Jiang in the United States and the establishment of the World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong was heard in Pengxi County.

A lady of forty was subjected to torture with the use of every torture instrument that the police could find. She was introduced to the teachings of Falun Gong in the detention centre. She said it would be nice if the methods of torture that she had experienced were for practising Falun Dafa. When I brought Teacher's new articles into the cell, she was very happy to read them. She was especially excited when she saw the pictures of Teacher sending forth righteous thoughts. She asked, "Can you bring in some Falun Gong leaflets? I really want to read some leaflets."

The following is what a Dafa practitioner in Liaoning Province has witnessed and experienced. It shows us how Jiang's regime persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. This practitioner was illegally arrested and sent to the Guangming Police Substation in Jizhuo District, Dalian City, where police beat and shocked her with electric batons so that her whole body was covered with bruises. She was later sent to a forced labour camp where she witnessed how police beat, force-fed, and used instruments of torture to persecute practitioners. None of this can shake her determination in truly cultivating herself and becoming a better person.

Before, practising Falun Gong, an 80-year-old man often couldn't walk due to pains in his leg. His son is a Falun Dafa practitioner and persuaded him to cultivate in Falun Dafa. After he began his cultivation, this man's symptoms vanished and he became healthy once again. One day a member of staff from the "610 Office" came to his home to harass him. The man asked this person sternly, "My leg pain disappeared after I began to practise Falun Gong. Are you going to carry me around if you don't want me to practise Falun Gong?" Surprised and speechless, the staff member from the "610 Office" left without another word.

Right at that moment, my husband came to visit me. He is a very tall person, and he was able to block five of them so that the other practitioners and I could escape. I ran until I was out of breath. Just when I could run no farther, a taxi pulled up, but the persecutors were catching up to us. They shouted to the taxi diver," Do not take them, they are Falun Gong practitioners!" The taxi driver shook his fist and said to them, "So what if they practise Falun Gong. If you want to beat up a practitioner, why don't you come and try me first?" Later on the taxi driver told us his father-in-law is a practitioner.

When posting Dafa banners and posters, her husband would squat down, letting her stand on him so that she could post them higher. In the area where they live, the police hired several persons to watch at night and catch Dafa practitioners who distribute truth-clarifying materials. This practitioner's husband warned the thugs, "Why would you want to earn such dirty money? Aren't you afraid of suffering karmic retribution? Do not dare to report my wife."

After the father was illegally detained in the forced labour camp, his son realised that he should take the opportunity to clarify the truth to people and rescue his father, rather than enduring it passively. He began to clarify the truth to his neighbours, and then to villagers. He even started collecting signatures on a petition to rescue his father. Because his father is the local doctor and has good standing reputation, many people sympathised with the courageous young man and they bravely signed their names.

Over the phone, he told his wife, "The police will send me home, do not open the door." The police were concerned after hearing that, and put him in the police car and drove to his home immediately, in order to avoid their responsibility for his condition. They put him in the bed and told his wife, "We brought him back," and ran away. His wife walked out and said, "You detained him illegally." The police ran to the car and told the driver, "Start the car, run." The police ran away under the neighbours' criticism, and ridicule.

In a city in Northeast China, an elementary school student felt that Falun Gong was remarkable and miraculous after he saw so many people practising Falun Gong. In 2001, his school collected signatures to oppose Dafa. He quietly signed, "Falun Gong is really miraculous."

My mother also mentioned that through this [SARS] incident, people have a clear understanding of what’s going on in Chinese news reports. People realise that past propagandas are actually not to be believed. For example, reports on the war between USA and Iraq have been used to fan up the anti-American feeling. Mother also said “now people won’t be fooled anymore. This time even people who are not sharp are awakening to the truth.”

The taxi driver did not charge him for the ride. Instead, he took out 20 Yuan and gave it to the practitioner. The practitioner was very touched and promised that he would pay the driver back. However, the driver replied, "No need. I am very happy to be able to help you. You are all good people."

My young cousin (not a Dafa practitioner) went to Ireland in 2001 to work. In the letters he wrote to his parents in China, he would attach some photos and reports from various newspapers and magazines about the activities of Falun Dafa practitioners. We are all very excited when we got to read them!

The facts indicate that a certain police station in our city has extorted a lot of money from practitioners. After learning that Jiang has been sued overseas and their crimes have been exposed, the police started to search out practitioners to return the extorted money.

After she heard the Falun Dafa practitioner explain the facts, the director said, "When we met the first time, I wanted to 'transform' you (to persuade you to stop practising Falun Dafa). I didn't think that you would 'transform' me." The three people laughed together. Then the director said, "Go ahead. If some new some policies or directives threatening your safety come in, if I cannot leave to warn you, I will tell my friend here to call you. You won't be arrested."

All the officials in a village in Northeastern China have become awakened after Falun Dafa practitioners clarified the truth of the persecution to them continuously with righteous thoughts and actions. They no longer wanted to assist the police in their evildoing against Falun Dafa practitioners.

The workers also protested against the mill's actions by lying on the railway tracks in a desperate hope to solve their problems. The Jiamusi police cracked down on the workers' demonstration and framed them as "Falun Gong practitioners making trouble". The workers responded angrily and said, "Don't try to put the blame on Falun Gong. This has nothing to do with Falun Gong. We just want our delayed wages."

After meeting many Falun Dafa practitioners in the Shenyang Detention Centre in Liaoning Province, a female inmate realised the truth about Falun Dafa. She regretted that she did not know about Falun Dafa earlier, or else she would not have committed the crimes that had landed her in prison. She decided to study and practise with the Falun Gong practitioners. The police tried to stop her by shackling her legs for 15 days, but she didn't give in. She said, "The most regrettable thing is that I cannot get a copy of Zhuan Falun [The main book of Falun Dafa]."

"I saw that the last few days, Falun Gong simply posted an announcement...I'd like to express my compliments to the behaviour of Falun Gong practitioners. Facing your unreasonable accusations, they have displayed patience and self-control. Even when we discuss a controversial topic, we must not forget to maintain our kind and understanding ways. Sometimes, kind intent and friendly attitude can achieve our objective, while impatience and roughness cannot."

When Jiang visited Germany in April 2002, practitioners attempted to appeal to stop the persecution and their constitutional rights were infringed upon by German Federal agents and police. Falun Gong practitioners and other Asian ethnic groups were forced to vacate their booked rooms in the Hotel Adlon where Jiang was staying. A 40-year-old woman was almost suffocated in public by a Chinese agent and was manhandled by police as she shouted the name of Falun Gong outside a Hotel.

Policemen barged into my home and dragged me outside before I even had time to put on enough clothes. I thought I shouldn't be taken away by these evil persecutors so I shouted, "Help! The police are arresting innocent people!" Upon hearing the shouting, villagers came rushing out from their homes and formed a barricade in front of the police van.

In one instance, when a practitioner who had been forced to leave home to avoid arrest returned to the village during the New Year, police officers went to the secretary to ask for the practitioner's information so they could arrest him. The secretary said that he didn't know it. But as soon as the police left, he telephoned the practitioner to tell him that the police were on their way. The practitioner immediately left, so the police were unable to arrest him.

A practitioner gave his colleague a truth-clarifying VCD. His colleague brought it to a friend's home to watch with him. His friend was a policeman. After they finished watching this VCD, both of them shouted with a surprise, "So the TV report on the Tiananmen Square Immolation was fake. Somebody obviously killed Liu Chunling. Falun Gong has been put in an unjust situation, even worse than the June 4th event." The policeman said that such a precious VCD should be kept.

I picked out two articles from Essentials for Further Advancement by Master Li which I had with me and read them to him. He listened very carefully, and became more and more excited, and then he took the book and read it by himself, saying: “My Goodness, I didn’t know it before. This book is so great that it should be translated into every language in the world, to let people all over the world know it. Have you started to do the translation?

On February 20, 2003, local police and government officials broke into Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang's and Zhu's houses to force them to attend a brainwashing session. Both practitioners and their families resisted the illegal arrests. After finding out about the situation, neighbours and relatives came over to support the practitioners. They told the police, "Why on earth do you want to reform these good people?" The police had to retreat because of the righteous thoughts and actions from the neighbours and relatives.

A veteran police officer at my work unit received a truth clarifying CD about the Tiananmen Self-Immolation. He watched it attentively from start to finish. After he had finished watching it, he thought the analysis contained in the CD was reasonable and had grounds. He said to the other people: "In the CD there is truth and evidence. The Falun Gong practitioners truly 'solved the case'

"Even though I do not practise Falun Gong, I do know to tell people the truth about it. In fact, I often argue with people at work when we chat about Falun Gong. At first some of them are extremely against Falun Gong because they've accepted the lies on TV. So I ask them, 'How many Falun Gong practitioners do you know? Which one is like the ones that are depicted on TV? Don't accept those media stories without seeing with your own eyes. I have several old classmates who are practising Falun Gong and none of them are like what's on TV."

A Falun Dafa practitioner in Longkou City explained the facts of Falun Dafa to the people around him. One person with a sense of justice said, "Falun Gong teaches people to be good. Don't pay attention to the nonsense heard on TV. No one believes that. Falun Gong practitioners are in front of us. No matter how the government attacks them, they still try to be good people. All of this we can see."

My sister and I went to buy some clothes. When we were paying, the storeowner said that our 50-Yuan bill looked counterfeit and that he wanted us to give him a different one. I said to him, "I wouldn't cheat you with fake bills." The storeowner replied, "I don't even know you, how would I know?" My sister and I said at the same time, "We both practise Falun Gong." The storeowner replied happily, "Great, I'll take your money. I believe Falun Gong practitioners don't tell lies."

A Falun Dafa practitioner was posting some leaflets that clarified the truth about Falun Gong. Someone ran to him and said, "I am the owner of the processing factory. Give me some materials and I can help you distribute them. A lot of people come to my factory; I'll give each one of them a leaflet." When the practitioner finished posting the leaflets and passed by the factory, he saw a few people holding the leaflets in their hands and reading them.

A Switzerland-based international non-governmental organisation and the Swiss Falun Dafa Association jointly conducted a press conference in downtown Geneva to announce that they will file a lawsuit in Switzerland against the former President of China, Jiang Zemin. Jiang Zemin will be sued for torture, genocide, and other crimes against humanity.

Recently I caught a taxi in Shanghai. The driver chatted with me along the journey and complained that there were so many lies spread in China, including the news on CCTV (China Central Television). I followed by saying that the self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square was faked, too. To my surprise, he said, "I know. I've heard the truth already. Although the authorities block the truth, I was told about it by guests from the U.S., Australia, and other places."

When an onlookers saw photos of persecuted Chinese practitioners displayed in the parade, he commented, “I am concerned about the situation of Falun Gong in China after seeing the materials exhibited in this march. The persecution is inhuman.”

A retired teacher went back to the school where he used to work. He wrote down three big words, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” on the notice board inside the principals school office. A female director saw what he was writing, and asked him how he dared to write Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Wasn’t he afraid of being arrested by Jiang’s regime? The retired teacher replied, “Why should I be afraid? What's wrong with Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance? I also want to learn Falun Gong

Ms. Yang would often tell me a story about another female fellow practitioner, who she referred to as her elder sister. One time, while fellow practitioners were driving around in a car clarifying the truth, they were followed by police. They tried hard but could not get away from the car tailing them. At this critical moment, her elder sister jumped out of their car and blocked the police car with her body. All the practitioners shed tears when they turned their head to watch the magnificent scene.

He figured that Falun Gong was everybody's focus so he yelled using a loudspeaker, "Falun Dafa is good." Many villagers came out to see what was going on. One of them said, "How do you dare to say 'Falun Dafa is good'? Do you not want to live anymore?" He said, "I have nothing to be afraid of. There is nothing wrong with Falun Dafa. It is not against any law. It does not do anything bad. Falun Dafa is really good."

The shop owners spoke to him: "Take a look at it! Falun Gong is great! Don’t be fooled. Falun Gong can improve one’s health and allow them to become a good person. I have read all of Master Li’s books. It does teach people to behave, to tolerate others, to be compassionate and not to lie to others. I want to practise too. Falun Gong truly has no political intention. All the Falun Gong practitioners are educated people."

Some villagers protected Falun Dafa practitioners who were forced to leave home and move from place to place to avoid arrest when police were searching for them. When the police asked the villagers, they all replied that they did not see any practitioners. Later the police enticed them saying, "If anyone reports [practitioners to the police], he will get a 30,000 Yuan reward." Still, no one would tell them. Later, the villagers said, "Who would accept that kind of money and send good people to suffer. We will not do bad deeds like that."

One practitioner was quite shy and did not know how to talk to people about Falun Gong. She has also had a relatively easy life. But since she went to the countryside to spread Falun Gong, she has become mature and confident. Not only has she overcome the fear of talking to people, but also does an excellent job with the wisdom given to her by Falun Dafa.

Now whenever I go out to conduct Falun Dafa truth-clarification activities, he comes with me and stands guard for me. In 2002, a fellow Falun Dafa practitioner was forced to leave home because of the persecution, I talked with my husband and he was willing to let her spend the New Year in our home. He said: "If we do not show sympathy to her, who else will? I strongly support you and will support you forever."
