On January 29th 2005, practitioners held an activity to introduce Falun Dafa and expose the persecution near St Martin-in-the-Fields church, just a short walk from London’s Trafalgar Square. This was the third such event which has been held at this location. The first took place on the weekend of the European Experience Sharing Conference three weeks ago.

Passers-by stop to read the posters Distributing leaflets... ...and discussing Falun Dafa and the persecution in more detail

At midday, practitioners set up tables and rows of posters, and began talking to passers-by and handing out leaflets. The activity took place near a statue of Edith Cavell, a nurse remembered for her compassion and fortitude during the First World War, a time of great suffering. In fact, during the previous Saturday’s activity, while a practitioner answered some tourists' questions about Dafa, one of the group suddenly pointed at the word Devotion on the statue. All of this surely resonates with Falun Dafa’s message to the world’s people.

After a couple of hours, as more people stopped to ask questions and look at the information posters, some practitioners started to perform the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. Soon, group after group of passers-by stood fascinated, while drivers watched from vehicles caught in heavy traffic. A surprising number of photographers were attracted and took many shots from different angles, at the same time asking about Falun Dafa. In some of the shots, Edith Cavell’s immortal words about bearing no hatred for anyone must have been clearly visible behind the practitioners.

Similar activities are planned at the same spot on future weekends. All practitioners who took part agreed that the day had been a great success. The location itself is excellent for attracting interest from tourists, as well as a wide cross-section of the capital’s population who pass through this busy part of the Capital..
