Mr. Fu Yu's Life Is in Great Danger Due to Brutal Torture in the Jiamusi City Prison
Name: Fu Yu Mr. Fu Yu, a Falun Gong practitioner from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, has been tortured for a long time in the Jiamusi City Prison and is currently in critical condition. His 70-year-old mother has sought his release through various channels, but to no avail. When Mr. Fu Yu used a small loudspeaker to inform the public about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, he was arrested and taken to a detention centre on February 8th, 2009. The police brutally tortured him in order to coerce a "confession." On July 7th, 2009, the court held a trial in the detention centre and sentenced Mr. Fu to five years of imprisonment. He was transferred to the Jiamusi City Prison on August 20th, 2009. Mr. Fu has gone on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. In August, he was taken to the Jiamusi City Prison Hospital. Mr. Fu's mother went to the prison many times, but each time she was unable to see her son. After seeking his release through various channels, she was finally allowed to see him on a single occasion, and then only under the watchful eyes of guards. Mr. Fu had to be carried out on someone's back. His eyes were sunken and his voice weak. When his mother saw him, she started crying and couldn't speak. Urged by the guards, she left. When Mr. Fu's mother went to the prison again, guard Zhang Qingfeng from the education and "reform" section shouted at her, "Your son does not eat anything, so he is not allowed to see anyone!" When the person that accompanied Mr. Fu's mother to the prison explained to the guard that Mr. Fu shouldn't be treated that way, Zhang ignored the suggestion and said, "I work for the Party and the Party gives me money, so I listen to it and do things on its behalf." He also shouted, "If you don't get out of here fast, I will call the police to arrest you!" Mr. Fu's condition is critical. He vomits and is in a coma. The doctor is unable to get him on an IV, and the prison still refuses to release him. Chinese version available at http://minghui.ca/mh/articles/2009/10/13/210309.html
