By a Latvian Falun Gong practitioner
On May 17 2009, Latvian Falun Gong practitioners organised an activity in Riga, capital city of Latvia, to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. The event took place in Mezaparks, one of the biggest parks in Riga’s suburbs, which is a popular place for locals and tourists to go for strolls or ride bikes.
Practitioners introduced people in the park to the cultivation practice of Falun Gong. They had the chance to know about the benefits that a person receives by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and practising the five sets of Falun Gong exercises.

People gladly learned how to fold paper Lotus flowers. At the same time they came to know more about this wonderful practice, and the unlawful persecution that the communist regime in China has been carrying out against Falun Gong practitioners for almost ten years. People signed the petition demanding an end to the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

| Photo exhibition about the spreading of Falun Dafa throughout the world |
Practitioners displayed a photo exhibition, which portrayed the spreading of Falun Dafa around the world. People wanted to know where they can learn Falun Gong exercises. Many people happily received paper lotus flowers made by practitioners. People also took photos with the photo exhibition in the background.
