On the 6th of August 2004, the annual Gothenburg Festival started in Gothenburg city centre. In the bustling streets of the city, you could see lots of tourists from Europe and other countries around the world. The people of Northern Europe make the best use of this time to sit out in the streets and bask in the sun.

For several days in a row, among the leisurely and carefree crowd, you could see a group of Swedish people who practise Falun Gong continuously chatting with people about the practice and persecution, distributing leaflets, demonstrating the exercises and asking for signatures to appeal for an end to the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. People came one after another; some people read the display boards, some listened to the practitioners, some came to our desk to sign the petition and some asked for the location and time of our nearest practice site.
