In July, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from Indonesia together with practitioners from other countries held a series of activities including a parade, torture exhibition and a candlelight vigil to show what Falun Gong is to local residents and tourists and to highlight the persecution that is taking place today.
About 100 people who practise Falun Gong staged a solemn parade at a famous beach on the island, which attracting a lot of attention. The first group held photos of those who had been persecuted to death; the second group demonstrated how Chinese police torture practitioners. In the evening a candlelight vigil was held on the beach to commemorate those fellow practitioners who had lost their lives during the persecution and also to send righteous thoughts.
A local Falun Gong practitioner said: "We hope all people will come to learn the truth of the persecution and voice their concern."
Falun Dafa was first introduced to Bali by Indonesia practitioners in April, 2001. Now there are several hundred practitioners in Bali. Even some prisoners, teachers and students in a school for blind children have learnt begun to practise.
