RFI reported on the 6th of February that a Canadian court announced the verdict of libel against the Chinese Deputy Consul in Toronto on the 3rd of February:

Deputy Consul Xinchun Pan published a letter in the Toronto Star newspaper on the 5th of January 2002. The contents of the letter stated that Toronto Falun Gong practitioner Joel Chipkar is “A member of a sinister religious party”.

Chipkar sued the deputy consul in August 2003. This is the first court in the world that accepted a Falun Gong case and processed it successfully.
