The French Falun Gong Association sent a press release on Wednesday 4th February to announce their intention to file a complaint "against the arrests and violence against several dozen Falun Gong practitioners" during the Chinese New Year and President Hu Jintao’s visit to Paris, from the 24th to the 27th of January 2004.

According to the association, the victims "reported that the police who applied the orders were not able to justify the reasons for these detentions, which seemed to be executed on the sole basis that those people were of Chinese origin and wearing yellow scarves".

The association will be defended by lawyer Lef Forster, from the Paris Bar, who is specialised in Criminal Law.
