Report from Swedish newspaper Expressen: “Falun Gong Woman Still Detained” Björn Lidén Expressen is one of Sweden’s major newspapers Today marks the eleventh day since Pirjo Svensson, 44, from Gothenburg was detained in Bangkok. The Thai authorities have still not stated why she is being detained. Despite his attempts, the Swedish Ambassador has not received any answers either. According to the Swedish Falun Gong Information Centre she has been detained with 90 other prisoners in a cell no bigger than 90 square metres. The prisoners are only allowed out of the cell for 10-20 minutes per week to get fresh air. The important point - “what is she accused of?”- is still unresolved. “We have tried to get some answers”, says Jan Janonius at the Swedish Foreign Ministry. “Right now we have arranged a human rights lawyer for her, the best there is.” Source:
