Dear Mrs Blair,

Due to your belief in a better way of life and a deep and admirable interest in human and women’s rights, I feel that I can approach you on the subject of the pamphlet included.

I became aware of the plight of these courageous people when my sixteen year old son signed a petition in our market place. Knowing his keen sense of justice, I just signed it too and took a pamphlet away to read later. Upon reflection, doing just that in a supermarket queue was not too wise for when I read about the mother and her child, I was almost sick, there and then. I have three sons, as do you, the youngest being seven months old. I abandoned the shopping trip and went back to talk to the elderly Chinese gentleman properly.

Mrs Blair, I understand that in the present political climate, upsetting China may not be a good thing but I feel that the world must not forget that Iraq isn’t the only country where human rights and megalomania collide with horrifying results. Being a happy tourist destination and more worryingly, a member of the U.N. Security Council doesn’t appear to stop it from quietly torturing and murdering on a grand scale.

At the right time, perhaps you might give this whole terrible reality some thought and in your own way do something to help, so that Wang Lixuan and her little baby won’t have suffered and died horribly in vain.

Thank you for reading this, I hope that we can all do some good for those who don’t have the happy fortune of enjoying a decent and courageous government such as ours. For Reference: Details about Wang Lixuan and her Young Baby's Death

Ms. Wang Lixuan, age 27, was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Nangou Village, Qixiasikou Town of Shangdong Province. Her son, Meng Hao, was less than 8 months old. Since July 20, 1999, Lixuan went to Beijing to appeal against the ban on Falun Gong 8 times On October 21, 2000, she was arrested on her way to Beijing. When she later ran away from the detention centre, she went to Beijing again on October 22. On November 7, 2000, Lixuan and her son were persecuted to death. When her family received the death notice and arrived in Beijing, they found the frozen corpses of Lixuan and her son. According to the coroner's exam: her neck and knucklebones were broken, her skull was sunken and there was a needle stuck in her waist. There were two deep bruises on her son's ankles. There were two black and blue spots on his head and there was blood in his nose. It was deduced that the bruises may have been caused when the thugs handcuffed little Meng Hao's and hung him upside down.
